What trick was this guy trying to pull?

It all started out I was in world 2 buying an selling party hats, But then all of a sudden this lvl 76 comes up to me and asks me to duel for phats.

 

 

 

Thinking... HuH?? Duel for phats?. A lvl 76?

 

 

 

So of course, we go to the duel arena and he sets up thses rules.

 

 

 

No drink

 

No prayer

 

No food

 

No magic

 

No sp. atk.

 

Obstacles...??

 

 

 

Then everything "x"ed off but weapons.

 

 

 

His stats were. 61 attack. 1 def, 78 str, 93 range, 84 hp Vs my 84 attack, 82 def, 82 str, 83 hp, 76 range.

 

 

 

First thinking, Yeah he has 92 range, but my 82 def should beable to hold up against him. But then thinking, Why obstacles? What type of tricks is this guy trying to pull on me?

 

 

 

Did I miss out of the chance of my life time to stake a lvl 76 a blue party? Or Was I sure enough owned from the start befor the duel even began?

Did he turn off shield? If so he was trying to make it so you can't use bows. Odds are he had rune knives or obby rings.

I don't know much about duel areana bugs, but I do know....

yoo where getting yourself into one big duel to get owned =D> .. obstecals..he entangles you and rune arrows you or karils you to death..he WOULD kill you before the 15 sec entangle was up... Pking I saw someone hit a 23 through rune armour with rune arrows..so ya...don't do it :wall:

with obstacles and you not having range and mage wiht you and no use of armour he could easily own you by binding and ranging and amging you would sure lose he was an 1 def pure :D

 

 

 

most of thew time there are very strong for there lvls becaus eof the 1 def

Good thing I did not duel him. Befor the duel even started I was talking to a few other guys around fally and they said they have heard storys of how he has won so many phats doing this.

 

 

 

Plus, he was using obby rings and rune knifes.

I can promise you he looked up your stats first as well and knew that he could own you if you accepted.

From the stats and the set-up I would guess that he was doing one of three things:

 

 

 

1. Planning on a quick-switch of some rule that would give him a huge advantage (like turning magic ON).

 

 

 

2. Planning on using some bug.

 

 

 

3. Planning on running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trapping you behind stuff and owning you with rings.

 

 

 

 

 

Chances are... you would have lost. His game, his terrain, and his tactics will outweigh most stats. Smart choice on avoiding a phat loss.

92 range would eat your def, with no armor he would rip you up using an msb and rune arrows with rune knifes and obby rings it would have happened faster

What they do is use a dds just to poison. Then run around using darts/knives/rings usually owning you. Some level 39 tried to do that to me, I had a hally on me at the time....went through most obsticles :P . Phr33 black mystic top for me :)

Good job for not staking. For me it was always the last stake I couldn't say no to that would wipe out all the other stakes i'd won earlier.. lol

It was probably a character switch, one low level guy with a name nearly exactly like a high level guy. You think your fighting the noob then get in a duel with a guy who has like all 99 stats.

Well... The fact is it does not matter any more, Because I quit runescape. Yeah, I still have my phats and 34mil cash, but thats besides the point.

 

 

 

I always was the type of person that was so tight with money. It came to the point where if someone would ask me for even 1k, I would laugh at them and call them a noob.

 

 

 

But in this passed month, Manily the fact because it was summer vaction and I had all the time in the world to play runescape but then everything went wrong.

 

 

 

It all started out One of my friends and I were going to do some Kq runs. We did over 200 kq runs and not even a single D item. And within thoes 200 runs I died twice losing my gear. And both of thoes runs it came to the point where my friend teled and I stayed down there to finish, but ended up dieing and losing veracs helm and many other items like barrows gloves, glory, wealth, dds.

 

 

 

After finding out that I have lost over 10mil in repair cost, food, and pots I quit doing kq runs. But then I started a new goal... The fire cape.

 

 

 

Yes, in the end I did get a fire cape, But it came at a very high price. Mainly because of the crystal bows and pots. At first I was handing out 900k a pop to the elfs for a new bow and that was adding up very quick. After my 4th try and over 10hours of work I finally got the bow. Once again I found out I have lost over 10mil getting this cape.

 

 

 

Now having fire cape, I of course had to buy full dragon to go along with it. This ment selling my santa to get. But of course that was not good enough, I need red party hat. I then sold my purple phat and mask set to afford a red party hat. Not knowing the price of red party hat I paid 10million over.

 

 

 

So At this point within a months time I have lost over 30million and for what? just a fire cape and full dragon.

 

 

 

Then I decied to merchant phats, and then the lvl 76 duler came to me. "just reread the first post". Thank god I did not duel him.... But befor I knew it I lost 1.6mil in 5minutes to 1 guy boxing. At this point I have had enough. I'm gone. Yeah I have the most 2 easy skills at 99 and 2 party hats still left, but that means nothing to me. It came to the point where my mental status has broke down and I no longer knew how to make money in runescape and all I was doing was spending.

 

 

 

My last words are... "I quit".
