omg...We need update warnings!

Featured Replies

This is so annoying, so tragic and so bloody unbelivable. Anyone want to guess where i was just before the server's had a bloody stupid update? Yes that's right, wave No.59 of the fight caves. Thanks JaGeX.

But, as for discussion, do you thinkk we should be warned of update times 5 hours in advance? I certainly do, although I believe they should not tell us what the update will be.

Well... It's not like the caves are a one time thing. You can always do it again. And hey, just think that you could've failed :P Plus you got some decent ranging exp. The only setback is the time and the money... but there's fletching for that.

900k in racks and pots. Thats 3 hours work, and then another 2 hours in the caves. Why can;t they just warn us in advance?

Is it not possible to save progress in the fight caves now though? You get a few minutes warning which should be enough.

Not 100% sure as haven't been there for a while but I'm sure I read that on here somewhere!

They let you save your progress after a wave. (Log-out)

Never do fight caves Monday-Wednesday because of the weekly update then the chance of bugfixes

That's impossible. In the few hours before updates Jagex are working hard, double and tripple checking the changes they're about to make to try and reduce the amount of bugs, if a massive one comes up, they have to delay the update, and I'm sure the Runescape forums would be an excellent place to be when that occurs...

Also, when an Update is realeased there will be a few bugs, and some of which are major and require a fix right there, usualy an hour or two after the main update took place.

You can save the fight caves anyway, and I'm sure 59 is the one BEFORE the double 360s, should have logged out, and then come back in, you'd have gotten a few seconds to put mage protect on, plenty of time (Although, they should increase it now with that stupid slide bar :/)

well lets thinkg about this.

Average person works what...8 hour days? Do you think jagex always knows when they are going to launch an update....I doubt it.

If you want 5 hours in advance...dont ever do fightcaves from 5-11:59am est

The scroll bar was the reason they updated

FuBai, it just sounds like if your miffed about Jagex and complain and whine about it. Jagex can't bring out a warning 5 hours before an update, I don't think that will happen anyway. You must of known that an update would come quite soon. 3 minutes is good enough for me.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

i was going to try for fire cape again today, good thing i decided to wait until i have barrow gloves + crystal bows :s

I had three minuties to kill the whole wave i was on so I could log out? Not happening.

Even if I could have logged out, the last I knew, you couldn't log out in the fight caves. My friend did a while ago and he found himself outside the caves. So the information that I could was unavailable.

The transition period between waves was about 5 seconds, so even if I had finished of the wave, I wouldnt have been able to log out if a monster had spawned within range of me.

Click logout and it says "Log out now to not save progress, log out after wave to save progress"

As soon as you finish the wave it tries to log you out, if you're being attacked after 10 seconds you can log out as NOTHING spawns.

So if you have never tried to log out in the caves, you wouldn't know you could, so wouldn't try to incase you ended up outside the caves.

Ouch!!! Round 59 ain't gonna happen in 3 minutes, no way in Runescape!!! That really sucks man, write a letter to Jagex and try to suggest a possible (and plausable) solution. I can't think of any good solutions, maybe just a 15 minute warning, works for them, and it's possible to finish a round in 15 minutes, quite easy actually.

It's been around since Decemberish, and there's been a few topics here on it.

Well, you know now anyway...

Well, maybe arrange your figiht cave time around the update schedule?

We all know updates usually happen Monday, and sometimes Tuesday and Wednesday for bug fixes. Why not just avoid those days for fight caves?

All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it

So instead of:

System Update In: 3:00

You're thinking:

System Update In: 5:00:00

:?:

when i tried fight caves, i was scared of this problem, fortunently, it didnt happen to me. As for the 5 hour advance, i gotta go with the other people, dont do fight caves from mon-weds, where they have bug fixes/ updates.

ouch, this happens to alot of people with the updates
