Unless the layout is fancy and with a lot of fun characters on the handbook, it won't sell good. Otherwise, it will be a top seller.

This isn't about taking away from tip.it. I just found it interesting that this is being advertised in a nationwide magazine, and also on huge websites. This is going to maybe push another influx of people in runescape.

There are so many fan sites around that you can get whatever info is in there for free.

 

(Since it says 'Official', I have to assume Jagex gave her permission to write it)

 

 

 

But like Trix said, it may bring another influx of players into RS if it gets enough marketing and such. Hopefully if new players have that guide, they won't have as many questions when they first start.

 

If anything, this'll help Jagex get more players starting to play Runescape, since grade school students will see the ad and get curious about what RS is.

Even if it has good info, it will become outdated and useless when newer and better updates come. This is probably why Jagex never released such a book, their game is continually being updated - unlike other games you buy once and it never changes.

Worst attempt to make a little bit of money. RuneScape is a ever-changing dynamic game. There can never be a guide. Tip It is a kind of guide however it can update with every update, which is why it is impossible to write a book as a RuneScape guide.

According to my sources the guide is a beginners guide for f2p, which rarely gets any updates, so most of it will be accurate.
