happy123
I just watched 'Road to 9/11' on TV, and remember those who risked their lives to save others. Also those innocent who lost their lives, their numbers near 3000 I personally haven't lost any of my family as I live in NZ, but i grieve for those who have. It is now been 5 years since this happened. IN LOVING MEMORY All those people who lost their lives invovling the September 11 Attacks. We shall miss you. Please post thoughts and comments on this topic. Mod Comment: This post is to make comments in memory of 9/11. Deathturtle
Ya.. that was a really sad day. I had no idea what happened until i got to school.. the teachers were arguing with the principal saying we should get the day off school to grieve. Principal said no, even to a girls face who found out she lost a family member (a distant one, but she was still kind of close). The girl obviously got off school anyway because her mother came to pick her up, but they've given days off for presidential deaths etc. and they wont do it for however many thousand civilian deaths. ^^Thanks Mom!^^Join the petition for a new bank page layout!Your character is rockin' out to the RuneScape iLyre. Evilperson
It is an awful thing, there is no contest there. But do we REALLY need movies, re-enactments, tv specials, multiple multiple newspaper stories to remember? I say no. We shold remember it and not forget it. I mean there are other horrible things that have happened to this country that we have forgotten about that they thought back then we would never forget. For example, "December 7, 1941, a day that will live in infamy". I doubt that half of you know what that is from. (Americans). SO PLEASE, media, let us move on with our lives. Just because we don't devote so much man-power forcing us to remember doesn't mean we have forgotten. Everybody lovin' it, but ain't no body touchin' it
Striker6
Agreed, isn't it Nicolas cage playing a fireman? It seems an insult to the people that died to be honest. Nicolas Cage being payed tens of millions to help us remember? Seems disrespectful...
MyPurpleCrayon
God bless the families that have to go through with this today. I can't imagine... :( Sorry Striker, misread. Aijiru
It is an awful thing, there is no contest there. But do we REALLY need movies, re-enactments, tv specials, multiple multiple newspaper stories to remember? I say no. I agree. We are on our right to remember those attacks and express our pain for the victims, but I dont think its right to make money with this -selling newspapers, increasing Tv watchers, or making films- It was terrible like all the attacks on all over the world but now it's like some people is using our pain to make money. I'm not american althrough i felt so bad on the 11S. I can talk of the 11M attacks on Madrid, three years ago, 190 people dead... there were lots on flowers on the trains stations that were attacked... it was OK. But later, when the attack stopped being a new, the TV used it to show us histories all the days, like the newspapers, and now there's a movie about it... the question is, where's the border line between expressing our pain and making it a business? I don't know. Currently having a break from sig-making...Join the campaign for more F2P bank space!Avatar by Born2die, tyvm!
knives669
I do agree that the media should let it rest. It's 7:00 AM right now and I just walked into the other room to see all the news channels covering it. It was a great tragedy... All those people who lost loved ones. They feel sad enough today without the media making a big deal out of it. I don't think America will ever forget, so why must we make such a huge effort to remember something so negative and tragic? My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones on this day five years ago. May they rest in peace.
jak722
Yeah I watched at least 2 documentaries about 9/11 last night... I got to bed at almost 12 and I have classes today at 10... -.- However it did answer a lot questions for me. :-k The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. deloriagod
I remember that day. I was in the fifth grade and kids were being picked up by their parents (I don't know why. I live in Iowa..). I found out about it from a friend and when I got home I watched the towers fall again and again on the news. Although I didn't really understand what was going on then I relise now what a tragedy it was. :( I'm watching a thing on Good Morning America right now. Its really sad, kind of seems like a funeral. :boohoo: Internet Marketing For Newbies
lazy_cat
Remember, remember the 11th of September. I dont think I can ever forget this day because I saw it live on TV when the second plane crashed into the other tower. I was mystified! My whole family was gathered infront of our little TV and watched it. I really cannot believe that it was 5 years ago. I was in grade 10! For all those affected by this tragedy and those who later were involved (soliders and innocent civilians of war) - you have my sympathy. Time can go by as fast as it wants but this memory will never change nor be forgotten on this day. 9/11. .: Gallery :. Away :( -cheers all! sjiskebab5
9/11 changed our lives, some newspapers say it was the start of a new period in time. Remember every single one that has died
Tigra00
It's so weird to think that on this day 5 years ago, I was starting my first day of highschool and I was in Home Ec. class...Second period, I believe. My teacher was freaking out and telling us all to stop talking because this was "the start of world war lll"...She apparently knew we were being attacked, not that it was some sort of accident. Good guesser. :P So yea. Lame! The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me! BlueLancer
Without regard to any conspiracy theories, the 'truth' or government involvement in it, rest in peace. It doesn't matter how you spin it, those 3000 dead people are still dead. They died for no reason at all other than hate, revenge or (possibly) governmental motives, and there were children among them. No matter who did it, it must be condemned. What it should not be used for is politicizing and using it as a justification for further crimes against innocent human lives elsewhere in the world. assassin_696
My thoughts are with anyone who lost someone that day. I suppose the whole media reaction we saw is a consequence of the age and society we live in, but we'll never forget.
