Vaki_Sanake
Think about it, I usually wear around about 8m for my armour, which is about half of my small fortune. Even thought I have a bank PIN that even I often forget, if I ever got hacked, people might try to multi log and trade my stuff to their account, but with this trade PIN they couldn't unless they knew my bank PIN. Basically, same thing for a Drop PIN. And I'll work like the Bank PIN, once you've done it, you don't have to do it again until you log out and back in. I know I'll take up time when first entering Runescape, but I'll take much, much more time to get your stuff back if you get hacked. I've never been hacked, but that doesn't mean I want too. Dunno if this was already made, I used the search and didn't see anything of it. But then again it's never worked right for me... No bashing, no flaming, no any of that, just act like people who don't bash and flame, just simply reject the idea. Do this and even if I hate we'll be on good terms. :D Support List if any: 1. Vaki Sanake 2. samcowcow 3. NJE03 4. FrankyBrown I'm having trouble telling who agrees and who doesn't and who doesn't really care. :? I'm back?! No wayz!!! ortiz9471
I don't really like it, plus 70% of RS would just use the same number as bank PIN. Bleh
Giordano
I guess it would be a good idea for people who dont understand how easy it is not to get hacked... "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." Shaddd
I'm not sure, seems a bit... er... un-needed? Just bank your valuables as you log out, and have a bank PIN. Hack me once, shame on you, hack me twice, shame on me.
Dalcyte
yea, i wouldn't like it if i had to drop something and enter a pin, or trade...would slow everythin down. Vaki_Sanake
I thank samcowcow for agreeing. Dalcyte, you just have to do it once per session, and I'll be optional (but recommanded). And I think the rate of hackers is going up drastically, in the past weeks 3 of my friends have been hacked, each one losing at least 5m in stuff they had in their inventory. None of 'em lost their accounts but -5m sets you back at lvl 90. And as for banking my items everytime I log out, I don't always have the ability to log out in the bank. ortiz, how would you know? I'm back?! No wayz!!! Seahawk10490
I like it, but, there should be no reason to worry, after having a pass, recovery Questions, and a bank pin. Sadly Jagex cant protect us from these fat sweaty sex lifeless 40 Year olds, who sit in there basement all day and find ways to hack accounts. Its better to be judged by twelve, than to be carried by six.
samcowcow
JAGEX should change the log in name differently to your character name. for example: log in name: test123 and rs name is : runesacpe i just dun think it's safe to make the rs name same to the log in account name. bilbobaggins
I'm fairly interested in this, but how about the ability to turn on/off the PIN at will (for instance, you are going to, say, a bronze pk trip, but you don't want to have to enter a pin in order to unequip your armour)
Ts_Stormrage
ehm... The ONLY POSSIBLY way to get hacked in rs is if your computer is not safe... that is not the responsability of jagex, but yours... if you're too dumb to get your own computer secure, how DARE you connect it to thousands of others over internet? If you downloaded something, or went to a dodgy site, almost ALL of the barely adequate virus scanners and firealls imediatly let the alarms blare... If you got hacked, you probably deserved it... Vaki_Sanake
If you got hacked, you probably deserved it... If someone gets hacked, it isn't always their fault, my friend got hacked cause he's brother downloaded a keylogger unknowingly. When it comes to shared computers, if it's a normal sized family who all use the computer the same amount of time it's a 1 in 4 chance it's their fault. Yes I know, it also depends on where they go to. I just want to protect everyone if that doesn't sound retarted. I'm not sure, seems a bit... er... un-needed? Now ontopic, you said what I was going to. Bank your valuables before you leave O:) We mean players getting hacked... And read my post FULLY, I can't always get to a bank, my internet cuts out at random times. I'm fairly interested in this, but how about the ability to turn on/off the PIN at will (for instance, you are going to, say, a bronze pk trip, but you don't want to have to enter a pin in order to unequip your armour) Then the hackers could turn it off to? And listen to me and read all the post, YOU HAVE TO ONLY ENTER ONE PIN TO DEACTIVATE ALL YOUR PINS!!! I'm back?! No wayz!!!
Ts_Stormrage
If your anti virus software even allows for a keylogger to be downloaded... and your firewall allows for the information to be sent out again you have not a secure enough computer system... AGV anti virus and a very early version of zonealarm already prevent anything that keylogger programs throw at you. the ONLY way things can get through these programs is when you ALLOW them... i stand by my previously mentioned argument... Vaki_Sanake
And some people (like some F2P people) aren't rich enough to afford to "adequate" anti-virus/spyware have to get cheap ones that often fail and are poorly made. I advise you to go to my clans website, and view the Download section. It has numerous links to GOOD AND FREE antivirus. Some examples: AVG = free, and gets a 4.5 out of 5 rating Zonealarm = free 5 out of 5 Ad-Aware = free again 5 out of 5 Housecall = free yet again 5 out of 5 Ignorance is not always bliss...
