mrpez
The Mysterious Old Man The Wise Old Man The Strange Old Man* *The Strange Old Man is at the barrows digisites. The Mysterious Old Man Who is he? Why is he always so lonely? Does he have a history in Runescape? Why, when he transports you to the Mime arena, the three gods of Runescape are there? Does he have connections with them? The Wise Old Man Where did he learn his magic? Is he in any way related to the Mysterious Old Man? He says in his past he has saved countless people, killed innumerable monsters, and saved many villages, but why isn't there any history on it? The Strange Old Man This man killed all 6 of the Barrows Brothers, when countless enemies fell before them. HOW? How has he survived so long, since the God Wars and the time of the Barrows Brothers? Why is he digging at the Brother's graves? Isn't he satisfied with killing them? Can't he let them rest in peace? (Despite thousands of players defiling their tomb and killing their ghost). If he was so powerful, why is there no other reference to him in Runescape? General Are these three mysterious individuals in some way related? Could it be that after he killed the Barrows Brothers, the Strange Old Man was remorseful? To clear his conscience he embarks on a lifelong journey as the Wise Old Man to help and save countless individuals? After his life's work he retires to Draynor, but seeing as he has so few interests there, he becomes lonely? Then he could travel outside his town to visit players as the Mysterious Old Man? Or he could get lonely after countless hours of tending to the Brother's tombs? WHO ARE THESE GUYS? WHAT ARE THEY DOING IN RUNESCAPE? WHY IS THERE SO LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT THEM? I CAN'T STAND IT!!! :wall: Chew on this for a while: Who are these Mysterious Old Men? The Lonely Messenger Who Stands Through Time and Toiled, Madam. (An anagram of the words: "The Mysterious Old Man", "The Strange Old Man", and "The Wise Old Man." I only had to substitute the italic letters)

primadog
there was an old poll in rs with all the "old man"s listed: There are a number of 'old men' dotted around RuneScape, all of whom have something slightly odd about them. They have collected together this week to ask you: "Which one of us do you prefer?" Is it the Wise Old Man, intrepid adventurer from Draynor Village? The Odd Old Man, collector of bones? The Strange Old Man, wanderer of the Barrows? Old Man Ral, the flea-infested citizen of Meiyerditch? Mysterious Old Man, random event and box-giver? Or is it the Weird Old Man, above the Kalphite dungeon? The choice is yours. oreocookie987
Wow no wonder you made me get out of you room when I came in (mrpez is my brother). Thats some crazy stuff you pulled up there, especially that anagram : It may strike you as interesting that in last year's Christmas event, when you had to deliver the Puppets you made in the workshop, you took them to the Mysterious Old Man, who was waiting by the member's gate north of Falador. He was wearing a Christmas suit, but it was him. So he possibly has some connection to Diango also. godsfearme
I was going to say the wise mysterous, and starange were possibaly the gods themselves but when the other old man were mention my theory went way out the window. Maybe Paul likes his grandfather and made all his personalities into old men. I will shoot down any one with my bitting wit, and sarcasm! What POSSIBLE reason would someone have to make a fake like that?Does he profit from faking a picture like that? Does it help him at all?Jesus Christ, stop being so suspicious. This is Tip.it for God's sake, not RuneHQ. -_-

Peronix
The Strange Old Man was probally Zamorak at some point if he was indeed the figure the barrows brothers kept seeing; but after Guthix banished the Gods from taking physical form, the man was left as an empty shell, with some residual memories, and some of the powers (like immortality.. how else would he survive so long?), of the God he used to be - which explains the guy's clear insanity :-k ... and mabye the Myserious Old Man is the body left over from Saradomin? Less evidence than the Strange Old Man to that, but definatly a possiblity. As for Wise Old Man... it's clear what he is. An elderly gentlemen who in his younger days was an adventurer like myself and many of us (except he's an NPC  ), who also like me is fed up with the quite shoddy rewards for saving countless lives. :P

joyfullog
Kind of a different topic. I do believe that the old men are all really Santa Clause though (if you were around for last Christmas you would know what I am talking about) because he seems to always know when we need a "present"

Shadow93
the mysterious old man is most likely a messenger from the gods, i mean he can teleport anywhere, he can't die, and tests you with puzzles by the way who was the old man during last year's christmas event? he looked familiar

godsfearme
Hmm... maybe their just taking the piss outta old men, The Weird old man, the strange old man.... Intresting idea. The idea of the gods being the men deffently seem even better now. Either way very werid and intresting topic. IF you don't think this is intresting topic please don't post and say that it ruins the topic.
