Stealing...

Wal-Mart closed one of its stores up in the city, and built a new Super Center about 3 miles away. So they do close every now and then, when they go from a regular Wal-Mart to a Super Center. What I gave was a bad example anyways, since they have just announced that they aren't closing the first one for good, they are also going to make that into a Super Center. Two Wal-Mart Super Centers roughly 3 miles from each other :D

You relise that losing 1 Wal-Mart won't hardly hurt their profits. And when you Google 'walmart' that's the first picture that appears. I'd have to guess that's Photoshoped. Why does the sign in the back say 'Layaway' when the main focus sign says 'Going Out Of Business Sale'?

I know -.- that was a joke damn.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to recognize a joke when we're on a serious subject here. Also, I apologize for pulling the discussion away from the original topic.

#-o I hate people who steal. Companies pay money for those products to sell them. And then people come along and ruin it for the companies and corporate America.[/rant]

Usually I would say stealing is bad.. But he was stealing from Wal-Mart and I've done my research into that company. They're not as nice and harmless as they seem. When they set up a store in a city they always brag about having the lowest prices (and they usually do). So then smaller companies can't compete with Wal-Mart's prices and thus they lose more and more business to Wal-Mart resulting in them having to close their doors. So, I could really care less if you steal from a company that is trying to monopolize the US economy.

True, it's a cruel world Corporate America. I read about this once, but it was a while ago, this is a form of Supply and Demand right?

I'm not sure if you could call this supply and demand. This is more of Wal-Mart attempting to run smaller companies out of business in order to gain more profits for itself. (Btw, I did a project on the harmful effects of Wal-Mart on the US for my English project in my freshman year)

It's called (price) undercutting. Where you cut you prices so low that you barely(or you might even not) make a profit to run your opponents out of buissness. Then you raise your prices beyond belief once they're gone.

I use to steal from my work all the time knowing that I wouldn't get caught. I've probably stolen a good couple hundred from that place, and my friends do the same. But there is a logic behind it

A. We all use to work there, and they acted like complete [wagon] to us

B. There's no cameras or metal detectors

C. It's not like they're going to miss a couple packs of gum/spray paint bottles/sharpies etc

Straight up I can tell you that your school can't do anything to you unless:

You get caught while representing your school (eg: In uniform for general teaching days / sporting events / etc). If you're wearing anything with a school logo on it and you get picked up they can punish you.

Other than that, it's a standard civil matter, and it's on WalMart to catch you and impose punishment.

Dude, shoplifting is low. Don't get me wrong I wasn't to richeous in middle school. I stole a lot of things like items from people's lunches and the like. I made sure to never steal any cash or anything from a place with a cash registrar. Getting caught red handed doing one of the above can really put a bad permanant mark on your record that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

A. Does that give you the right to do that? Treat them like you want them to treat you. Two wrongs do not make a right. Doing that only lowers yourself to them.

B. So if there's no evidence you can kill anyone, rape anyone, etc.

C. Stealing is stealing. Nothing about it is justified.

My opinion:

A. Who gives a damn! Treat others like how you want them to treat you, that's bs through and through. You're just asking for someone to take advantage of you.

One wrong and one right also do not make a right, idiot.

B. Shut up, if you can get away with it, doesn't matter.

C. That's on different scales. Small items don't matter. Shooting a dog doesn't matter. Shooting a human does. You get it?

Argument:

Me vs myself

My different opinions.

The reverse is also true. Treat your employees like you'd want them to treat you.

B. So if there's no evidence you can kill anyone, [bleep] anyone, etc.

Sure. You can, but it doesn't mean you will. And if it was guaranteed that nobody would find out, wouldn't you steal?

C. Stealing is stealing. Nothing about it is justified.

So the man who steals from a corrupt person to feed his children because he has no other way to do so has no justification?

A. Who gives a damn! Treat others like how you want them to treat you, that's bs through and through. You're just asking for someone to take advantage of you.

It's called employment and taxation. Why don't you just make up your mind?

One wrong and one right also do not make a right, idiot.

Given that wrong = negative, and two negatives = positive, that statement is blatantly false. QED.

I dislike it when people use that statement. It's so trite and when you really think about it, downright ridiculous. Giving criminals any sort of punishment is morally wrong on the basis that they are human beings as well and should never be subjected to psychological or physical trauma, but that's justice for you. It's a "wrong" that when used in retaliation for or to rectify another "wrong" makes a "right".

B. Shut up, if you can get away with it, doesn't matter.

Stop talking to yourself.

C. That's on different scales. Small items don't matter. Shooting a dog doesn't matter. Shooting a human does. You get it?

Shooting a dog doesn't matter? It sure does, if someone owns it.

And would it kill you to find out exactly what your opinion is before posting contradictory crap? Your arguments with yourself are of no value to anyone else.

That logic is false and always has been. It runs purely on taking everything that is given to you and doing nothing in return. You're running on the assumption that if you got punched in the face you wouldn't do anything about it. If someone decided to strip you naked and leave you there you would do nothing about it. Don't be [developmentally delayed]ed; this is the real world not some hippyfest.

B. So if there's no evidence you can kill anyone, [bleep] anyone, etc.

Maybe I would?

C. Stealing is stealing. Nothing about it is justified.

You can justify anything you want justify. Everything can be justified to a certain person at a certain time. Did you every watch A Time to Kill? It clearly writes about this.

You should also look into Kant's theories about justification and maxims, I'm sure you'd agree with them from that statement.

You don't know me. I don't give a damn about most other people. People treat me like [cabbage]; I treat others like [cabbage]. I'm not going to be the one to break the cycle, this is reality and it will continue endlessly; nothing good will come from fighting this current, unlike what you might believe, you don't make a difference.

B. Shut up, if you can get away with it, doesn't matter.

Telling me to shut up. Isn't that breaking your golden rule [cabbage]? How would you like it if one person, everyday for the rest of your life told you to shut up?

That's on different scales. Small items don't matter. Shooting a dog doesn't matter. Shooting a human does. You get it?

So you tell me that stealing gum and sharpies is wrong and is completely against your moral beliefs, yet you say killing a dog doesn't matter? Your scaling is completely messed and you contradicted yourself many times.

Argument:

Me vs myself

My different opinions.

Since it was just a "hint" from a student that kids were drinking at school, there's not anything they can do without evidence at your school. Your brother/friend should make sure there isn't anything to get them caught, otherwise there would be problems for them. As for getting suspended for stealing, I don't know how they could do that, unless you represented the school in some way, or did it during school hours.

Next, I've been learning a bit about Loss Protection lately in an attempt to train me at it despite my obvious disinterest in the job, but nonetheless I'm learning.

If they don't catch you on camera, there is nothing they can do. That said, the energy drink aisle at Wal-Mart is right next to the alcohol aisle, and that is usually pretty heavily hit with the cameras. But I know for a fact that many people steal alcohol from Wal-Mart and never get caught, so maybe that's not something to worry about. Next, if an employee saw you physically steal it, then they lost sight of you, they can't do anything unless they want a lawsuit on their hands (the logic is that you could have ditched the item). Following that, the employees can't follow you out to your car, cuff you, etc., and if you make it out the door you're basically good to go, but the "greeter" most likely would have written down your plates and description. If they did this, again, they could have a lawsuit on their hands.

I wouldn't be too worried if I was you, unless that "hint" made way to your parents.

Anyways, regarding Wal-Mart. I might have asked this before, but are there Wal-Mart's in the UK?

Not Wall-Marts as such. We have a UK branch of Wall-Mart called ASDA but its nothing like the Wall-Marts I saw when I went to Florida.

I've been there, done that, bought...stole the t-shirt.

anyway, I learnt my lesson when I wasn't actually caught stealing. My step-sister and a few of her friend's were all caught stealing, I got caught up in it all but it was that morning I said to myself "I AM NOT GOING TO STEAL" so lucky for me I didn't have any stolen good's on me when the bacon feature's came.

They got arrested and my step-sister was grounded for 6 week's.

Point is, I crapped myself in that primark security cell, lucky they let me go because they couldn't fit me in the car. (no, as many times as i've heard it, isn't a fat joke.)

Feel better, worst that will happen is you'll get told off by your parent's, just tell them i'm "so mixed up right now", I know it's not the right thing to do, but it gives you time to think over it yourself.

=]

PS ~

At age 5 I stole a golden yoyo from Wal-mart, hid it under my shirt and ran for my life. (no witty quoting please).

That's going in my sig.
