And the Winner is...

Well i know everyone here is sooooo anxious for the winner of the 2006 world rock paper scissors championship in Toronto, and it's official, Bob Cooper, a 28 yr old british sales manager takes it home! This is a big win for bob and will really help his career as a player, he defeated 500 players in order to get this. Now, i know most people do not take this sport seriously, as they think it is all luck, but it isn't, there is a lot of psychology involved and a lot of mental thinking. So DO NOT POST about "OMG RPS IS NOT A SPORT, YOU're A LOSER"

....Yeeea. Not a sport by any definition...

More like "time-waster".

I mean, it doesn't even take any skill.

The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past.

I wouldn't mind getting $7000 dollars for it. :-k

*sigh* people just don't get it, very skeptical about this. Just read the strategy guide and you'll know what i mean, there's a ton of strategy. You're right, i won't debate that this is a sport, you could say a game...but a time waster? Pisha

Yeah...it's sorta like curling..."C'mon Bob! Get in the game! SWEEP THE FREAKING ICE BETTER!"

Wow, I bet all Canadian people hate me now.

Its not so much as you're implying that curling isnt a sport, as you're also implying all canadians like curling...

Err did what I just said make any sense? :-s

Aha! But curling is a sport. I've tried it, It's not as easy as it looks. I've been in hockey for a long time, and I still had a lot of trouble with it. It's the sweeping part too. It's so hard to keep up, and the weight is very heavy as well.

i can imagine the post championship interview

"Yeah, it was really tough, i was thinking all night, rock..paper..or scissors. It was really tough, i just couldnt make up my mind. I finally decided on the last shot, i needed to go rock. It was really tough, i rode Paper all the way mixing in some Scissors, but i think Rock was the right choice."

Most people think its random but it really isn't. If I concentrate I never loose. I think I beat one of my dad's friend 25 times in a row before I realized how increadibly stimulated my brain was. After I let my brain relax I lost one.

Why don't you start training for the world coin-flipping champeenship.

It has everything to do with luck and nothing with brain stimulation.

Though, I'm sure there are at least a few intelligent people in the world who can, like in poker, predict the game behavior of their opponents based on the movement of their arms, eyes, how they speak, how they smile etc. and it could *possibly* work in RPS.

Didn't anybody notice the striking similarity of the tournament winner compared to Maddox, the beloved pirate? This is the actual image from the original poster's link.
