I believe that hospitals should allow people to commit doctor-assisted suicide. There should be a 30-day wait from when you submit the paperwork, to make sure it is not a rash decision. The doctor-assisted suicide would be easier and more painless, and by being regulated, would result in organ donation to people who needed it.

I believe that life is something so absolutely vital that only you should have the final control over it. You should be able to decide whether to live or die. If someone is feeling so sad, feels that life is so unbearable that they would just like to be taken out of their misery, I believe they should have the right to do so.

Euthanasia is a widely debated topic, one counter-argument for what you've outlined is the currently answerless question: Would the patient, in their right, sane and logical mind still make that decision? Generally, if they are in such pain, it means they're being heavily medicated, thus their ability to lucidly form thoughts is limited at best.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That's only one argument, there are many more out there, for both sides of the debate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's such a topic that I personally think that in the case of a patient wishing for death, each case should be reviewed and assessed individually; I only believe in euthanasia in certain circumstances, of which would not be adequately delineated if a simple and outright legislature is put in place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There's a lot of gray area regarding it, in my opinion.

Not always. One of my friends parents was the toughest guy I knew, but he suffered from terminal depression. Finally he couldn't take it anymore and shot himself. He was a great guy and managed his depression well. It's still hard to believe he's gone.

If he was so tough, why didn't he get help? He may have been tough on the outside, but obviously he was depressed on the inside. The second he shot himself is the time I can classify him as a weak person for not getting help. I'm not insulting his life. I am insulting his choice.

A girl name Jamie commited suicide on the beginning of november of this year in my school by hanging herself. Everyone said she looked happy and she didn't leave a note or anything. This week another girl name Grace a freshmen cheerleader who's sister is a varsity cheerleader hung herself as well. Grace had just argue with her sister and family members right before she commited suicide. Everyone is sad today because another girl has just died. :cry: All the hope and dreams of these two girls are gone now. I read in a recent seventeen article that a boy commited suicide as well because he got tired of being bullied by another boy in school. Suicide is never an answer, it is like running away

personally i dont think you can ever really coment on how the person should deal with the option of suicide unless uve been in the same situation to. Its ahrdly fair to tell someone what they should or should not do as the case maybe if you have no idea what they are goign through

I think comitting suicide is a horrible idea. There was a kid in my school who was cositering it and he IM'd me on AIM telling me about it.. I talked him out of it.. But I don't think he was serious about it.. I think he just wanted attention. and that's really true.. Sucide is never a good thing to do.. you hurt everyone who cares about you in the process, you should find ways to solve your problems, and there is also a better answer to ending your problems then ending your life. :shame:

I read that article in seventeen too, its very sad that these people ended there life in such a horrible way. They could have gotten help and went to therpy, its just sad that even the people that are closes too these people don't relize whats goin on in there life. I think thats why theses people might commit sucide, nobodys really paying attetion to them. I also think some ppl commit sucide becasue they want to hurt certin people that weren't the best to them so those people feel bad for the rest of there lives.

This isnt a suicide but its sad; Well i was walking to pick something up after school when i see 1 cop car, 1 mbulance, 1 undercover cop car, and one fire truck head straight for my school. when i get closer they are making kids leave the building right away. a couple of minutes later when all of the kids are freezing thereheads off, the paramedics come out with a girl on a stretcher. A couple of people were saying that a kid knocked the girl out with a blow to the chest. I hope the kid that punched her goes to jail and i hope that his family gets sued and loses all of there stuff. I also hop that the girl is alright. Plz, think about it when you go to sleep tonight.

a friend of mine got scammed on runescape, and it was over 23m worth of stuff, hes really depressed and said hes going to kill himself (its not a rl friend, its one i met on rs) and some of his friends say hes hurt himself before. he hasnt been on runescape at all today and im kinda worried, plus all his friends say that its my fault for some reason...

It is not just the feeling of wanting to be free, or of sadness, it is the feeling of being completely trapped and not being able to talk to anybody about your problems. Most suicides occur in men, and most ofthose in young men. This is because young men are the worst at communicating and discussing their problems. They bottle it up until they cannot cope. It is not a matter of being weak, or cowardly or selfish, it is a matter of sheer desperation, something which I doubt you, or many people have experienced.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

People used to be prosecuted if they tried to commit suicide and failed, because it was seen as a sin and something that the person ought to be made to pay for.
