November 21, 200619 yr Well, Zonorhc just told me that I'm agnostic. I was born Catholic and became Christian. I left church when I was young, so I don't know a lot about Christianity. I've been trying to get more involved in Christianity, and I just seem to not believe a lot of it. I wanted to, but I guess it's hard to believe it when you're not fully raised a Christian. So now, I believe in a god but not necessarily the Christian god. I'm confident that our spirits do carry on when we die, but I don't know to where. Is there anyone here similar to me?
November 21, 200619 yr That makes you agnostic, not pagan. And really, "heathen" is one of those words that fundamentalist religious people like to use when describing anyone not of the same faith as them. Varrock Library: Shattered Sky | Silent Thunder | The Emperor's FinestAstri @ MythWeavers
November 21, 200619 yr Author That makes you agnostic, not pagan. And really, "heathen" is one of those words that fundamentalist religious people like to use when describing anyone not of the same faith as them. Oh, I see. Do you mind telling me what pagan is?
November 21, 200619 yr Good. Now all you have to do is believe that the same god you believe in came down on earth as human and sacrifieced himseld when he did no wrong. Thats easy enough :) . We will call this religion..... not pagen. (I aggree that what I posted may not be true, but it is my beliefs). Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?Final Fantasy

November 21, 200619 yr Yay wikipedia! "Heathen" (Old English hÃÆÃâÃâæÃÆÃâÃâðen) is a translation of paganus. The term is used for Germanic paganism, or Germanic Neopaganism, in particular. The Germanic tribes were distributed over Eastern and Central Europe by the 5th century, and their dialects ceased to be mutually intelligible from around that time. Christianization of the Germanic peoples took place from the 4th (Goths) to the 6th (Anglo-Saxons, Alamanni) or 8th (Saxons) centuries on the continent, and from the 9th to 12th centuries in Iceland and Scandinavia.

Heh, thank you. I didn't think of Wikipedia for a moment, forgive me. :)
November 21, 200619 yr Well, I'm agnostic insofar as that I don't follow any particular established religion, nor do I believe in any sort of afterlife. However, I do acknowledge that I am a god of at least three different things. I even have a small cult following of 17 people. I'm awesome like that. November 21, 200619 yr Reccomended reading for an agnostic: Richard Dawkins - The God Delusion. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape" Jagex 01/04/01 - 02/03/12
November 21, 200619 yr I class myself as an Apathetic Agnostic The position can be summarized as: "There is no proof either of God's existence or nonexistence, but since God (if there is one) appears unconcerned for the universe or the welfare of its inhabitants, the question is largely academic". And my friend read 'The God Delusion', he enjoyed it also.
November 21, 200619 yr Im skeptical... So yeah I am I guess. Don't know if theres a God, and I don't have much like for organized religion. I don't like it when people interpret "divine/holy/sacred (etc.) things" and claim they are proof of God(s)... But should God (or the Gods) present himself/herself/themselves/"it"s to me personally, then I would act otherwise. November 21, 200619 yr Next time there's a Census, my religion will either be: http://uctaa.net/index.html Or "Jedi Knight". Though I normally tend to state my religion as "C of E by default", though I consider organized religion to be more a source of conflict than a source of good.
November 21, 200619 yr Next time there's a Census, my religion will either be: http://uctaa.net/index.html Or "Jedi Knight".Good luck with that.... Don't belive the rubbish that people say "You need x number of ppl to say it on census and it becomes official" because thats rubbish. As someone who worked on the Census 2001 you just get shoved into the "Other" category Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. I can't beleive how awesome some people are in this modern world of yes-men and sellouts.
November 21, 200619 yr Reccomended reading for an agnostic: Richard Dawkins - The God Delusion. And just to add a little balance to that... Also recommended reading for an agnostic (I recommend reading both): Miracles, by C.S. Lewis.

If the government wanted, they could intentionally leave out all christians, but that still wouldn't mean they aren't the most practiced religion in teh UK. 8-) I wonder what it takes for a religion to become "official"? It should have its' own holy book? Enough followers? Flying spaghetti monster comes to my mind, it fills all the criterias.
November 21, 200619 yr I'm not anything. I don't believe in religion. But I believe in God. I don't need anyone to give me rules on how to believe. I'm roughly the same way actualy. I do belive that there is probaly some sort of god out there (although, I usualy don't even bother with thinking about the fact) but I wouldn't consider myself any of the "offical" religions. I just kind of aknowledge that the possibility is great and continue on with my life.
November 22, 200619 yr Author Jedi? I never heard of such a religion. I was thinking Star Wars when I seen it.
