Holy_Monk
Runescape itself has made me smarter and more mature, May sound lame but i always encounter alot of immature people in rs and learning to be polite to them (some times rude :-w ) helps me deal with immature people in rl alot easier. its also become an addiction to me...beats drugs anyday! \ ----Retired Runescape Player 1/13/07-----

Except 1 time i was fighting in the wilderness and i sneezed and pooed my pants (sneeze came with an extra surprise  ) Other from that nothing.. That made me lol IRL. I've learnt better problem solving skills from some quests and time management having to divide it up between RS, A-levels and a social life. My typing hasn't greatly improved but my typing was already good from IM's.

chris28
Ive noticed that i spent too much time on the computer :ohnoes: but also ive become better at english due to reading huge essay style replies on this forum and other things, and i find it easier to understand new concepts in maths and stuff (not quite sure why that is #-o ) also im alot faster at typing obviously. However playing runescape over 3 hours EVERY day ive found has made me think about runescape non stop which is annoying, now i play an hour on weedays and about 4 hours on weekends. redserpent4
yer, one time i saw a guy on the street with a nice pair of shoes, i thought "i want them" so i ran up and beat the crap out of him. I got the kill message later when i watched the local news but it didn't say "you have defeated ....." it said i was a dangerous individual. i was like omgwdf so i tried to report the glitch to the mods but they arrested me on suspicion of murder and i was like omg . no, runescape has not affected my real life much. other than improved typing and stuff

blouinator
i saw a story on rs forums once well heres what the sotry was about: it was about a kid who got rich making money off consturction like bying logs and maoing planks then selling when constructiin was released. well he got enough to by full dragon. well one day he met another rs player and they got to talking and he found out this kid was terminaly ill. i guess they got each others mailing and sent letters back and forth well the terminaly ill kid dream on rs was to own full dragon, but probaly never get the chance well one day the terminaly ill kid said this would be his last time on rs ever becuse he was getting worse so the kid wit the full dragon said meet me somewere and well when they met the kid with the full dragon gave the terminal ill kid his full dragon. A few weeks laster the kid that previoulsy owned the full dragon got a letter. it was from a nurse saying that the terminally ill kid had passed away. now in the story this rs player wrote he wrote when i clicked accept to give my freind(terminally ill kid) the full dragon i was glad to put one smile on my freind(termianlly ill kid) face

speedofsound
When I started runescape I would have to look at my keyboard and slowly hit each key when I wanted to type, now I type much faster and do not have to look at the keyboard. But I has also took a lot of my time, but I don't mind :D I don't do it exclusively. You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you." Stilev
all it has done is improved my typing like everyone else i doubt it really changed my life really at all, i'd either be just hanging with friends some where, or watching tv or playing an fps now instead of watching tv and playing fps i play rs and do something no it hasn't affected my school work becasue well, im just one of the lucky ones i guess, i slack off, never care if i do my work, and still gets all A's and B's in classes like AP His, calc, chem, etc so w\e i wouldn't really say that im addicted to even though i play it alot, the only really attachment to rs is my friends which i know most in rl and or aim, so i wouldn't mind lossing it so i guess beyond the typing, i guess rs really hasn't affected me excpet for some friends i do like to over explain, been a habit of mine for awhile
tripsis
Runescape hasn't really changed anything in my life. I've always been on the computer a lot, even before Runescape. Not always playing games but doing digital art, editing photos, writing poems/stories, browsing websites, talking to friends, etc.. So Runescape really only added another thing to the list. As for school, I've always been a minimalist in school. I study for tests the day of, in other classes, do my homework during lunch/other classes so I don't have to do it at home, etc.. So my grades have remained all As and Bs, with the occasional C that I always manage to bring up at the last minute before report cards are sent home. As for friends and "outside" activities.. I gave up soccer, my only after school sport, after Middle School, just because high school soccer just isn't fun. Instead of focusing on the enjoyment of the sport, it turns much more serious, which I don't like. I'll admit that I never had many "real life friends" after middle school either, for various reasons. So Runescape hasn't exactly prevented me from hanging out with friends, seeing as how I probably wouldn't hang out with people often even if I didn't play Runescape. All and all, I wouldn't say that it has a very large impact on my life. Being on the computer is always something that I've enjoyed :P Other than that, I don't do a whole lot other than watching movies, going for daily walks (yay for 20 minute exercises), talking to my boyfriend endlessly and a few other things. Yeah I realize that I practically just wrote an essay, but whatever  EDIT: no it hasn't affected my school work becasue well, im just one of the lucky ones i guess, i slack off, never care if i do my work, and still gets all A's and B's in classes like AP His, calc, chem, etc so w\e Same here  I do the least work possibly, barely study for tests, yet easily have the highest grades in a fair few of my classes. oreocookie987
Its pretty much given me something to do really. Before Runescape I used to play Red Alert 2 a lot, but that got boring after a while. I went through a few other games before I found Runescape, and I liked it right away. Its given me a pastime and something to set goals in. I used to play lacrosse in 8th grade, but this was before I discovered Runescape. I found the game February of my freshman year. My highschool doesn't have a lacrosse team, so I haven't done a school sport since 8th grade. I've never much cared for school anyways, although Runescape doesn't really affect my schoolwork. I've always gotten B's mostly, even today I manage to do "reasonably" well in Chemistry and US History. I also, am not one who does their homework at home. I usually do the bulk of my homework during classes, since once I get home from school and the gym (I go everyday after school for about an hour and a half) I simply don't care to do homework. For the most part Runescape has had an impact on my life, and I'm glad that it has. \ Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.
