Lateralus
Obsession - Recurrent and persistent thought, impulse, or image experienced as intrusive and distressing. Recognized as being excessive and unreasonable even though it is the product of one's mind. This thought, impulse, or image cannot be expunged by logic or reasoning. He's not using the way it's used nowadays. In literal meaning, obsession is very unhealthy. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
Guest GhostRanger
It's possible, but he didn't state itthhat way. He said it's unhealthy to be obsessed, not within a certain point. Sigh... My point is that obsessed for Anesthesia could mean what you think "obsessed to a certain point is." What, for instance, do you consider an acceptable type of obsession? Anesthesia might not think that what you consider acceptable as "obsessed." You can't define something as "okay up until a certain point" without clearly defining what that point is, and what is consisted of being obsessed up until that point - and then say you disagree with someone. Becuase you haven't even given an accurate definition of your own opinion to reasonably compare it to his.

The point, in my opinion, would be when your life revolves around it and when it begins to bother others. When everything you do involves that obsession. But I consider it perfectly fine to be obsessed with something, in the way that you like it very much, but not to the point where it begins to bother others, and intrude upon others. For example, me and Europe. BTW read Lateralus' post. Me doing staff.
Anesthesia
Obsession isn't obsession until it is past that certain point. Before that point it is not an obsession. There is no healthy level of obsession. By definition, obsession is when it gets to an unhealthy stage. You are not obsessed with Europe. Intrigued, certainly. Fascinated, perhaps. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

Necromagus
Around 2000 b.C. there's a significant shift in the role of martiality in primitive culture, which is reflected in the change in shape of certain tools and the inclusion of weapons. From that point on, the warrior has always held a central role in society. Four thousand years later we're still stuck in that same pattern, and it doesn't look like we'll ever get out of it.That's human nature. Human is animal afterall (No, I don't want to start an argument about that statement, just had one at school)No, it isn't. Until that point in history, tools were strictly that - tools. Starting 2000 b.C., we start finding axes that are specifically designed to bash skulls in stead of chop wood. Anesthesia
Considering we are hunter-gatherers, would we not have had weapons for hunting before then? Or do such weapons exist, but are obviously not for killing humans? Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

Pandaman115
With 9/11, the war in Iraq and all the other violence going on in the world, little kids are finding out about it. That isn't relevant to their playing with guns. When I was a child I played with guns long before I knew about the gulf war, long before I'd seen any war footage on TV and long before I knew about any real conflicts. You come off as extremely over-sensitive. Accurate quote of the decade. The more and more I see Anesthesia's Avvy, the more I fall in love with it... honeo
I hate the people that are obsessed with tourturing people. I'm always thinking... have you ever seen this done to anyone? Do you even know what its like? What if it happened to you? Then it wouldnt be so funny. But I keep my mouth shut. I dont care about violence, I care about the Gorey Torturing that people think is "funny" or "entertaining". Because it doesnt appeal to me at all. Training my pure! Tigra00
Enjoyment from killing (video games) comes from the Taboo killing someone itself brings. It is illegal. Most people fear going to Prison, so they don't kill people. A video game allows them to kill someone without reprocussions. People who are obsessed with guns have something wrong with them. Guns aren't fascinating in the slightest. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me! Guns aren't fascinating in the slightest. You are partialy right. A lot of people do find it fun to be able to do things you could never dream of doing in real life. Pretending to shoot someone without fear of reprocussions is a big part of it. I think it is also just a general instictive fasination in violence. Even before TV and radio "influenced" our childrens into liking violence it was still very popular.
