I hate lurers a lot, and i see them a lot as i am fishing near the barbarian village. This particular story pops to mind. I will tell you, this really happened to me.

I'm fishing there, in full rune and with a rune scimmy. I'm about to go train, but wanted to get food first.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lurer: Hey, this way to the secret place!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I glance at him, and he's being followed by a level 4 and level 18. He's level 36.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Me: Don't listen to him.

 

 

 

lvl 18:Where are we going?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I begin to follow them, suspecting that he is going to the wildy. He is.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

lvl 4:Why is there a skull on my screen?

 

 

 

lurer:Nearly there...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At this point, he begins to try to lose me, as i'm lvl 60, and he was nearing wildy lvl 24. He goes off my minimap, but i catch up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

lvl 4:Are we there yet?

 

 

 

Lurer attack the level 4, killing him in 2 hits.

 

 

 

lvl 18:OMG!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At this point, i make a snap decision. I attack the lurer. 9,13,11,7. He dies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

lvl 18: Why did you do that! he was leading me to treasure!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At that point, i walk away.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

See, this is what i regularly do when i see lurers. I follow them, with or without food. being a RS Vigilante is fun, and sometimes i wish that those autoers would go to the wildy.

No this is the right forum, cause he wants you to post your stories. I have never been a vitcm of lurer. Also i have only saw one happen. I was a low level than so i could not help them.

Heh, Wish I got chances like that. People who lie and trick other people just for their personal gain disgust me.

Yeah i got scammed out of 1.6m worth of members runes by this guy saying he was woodcutting and when i went out there to trade i had no idea it was in wild, and i was binded, att and killed. This was when this whole illegal woodcuting luring thing was brand new, so i had no idea what was going on

Luring isn't scamming. They were in the wilderness, and you happened to get killed.

Ok. I had been saving for a whip for a loooong time. i finally saved up the 2.4 mil needed (it was 2,4 at the time) and someone said east of edgeville. I came and thought he wasn't in wildy. he was in lvl 1 though. I was barraged, 30, 19, i was at like 8 hp and i escaped. I was so scared while i was being barraged! But as it turns out i loaned my friend my whip and he got keylogged so didn't matter anyway. I have never made the money back for that whip. I might quit :wall: or meybe not.. i dunno :wall: :wall:

Ever since I was a noob I had heard about lurers. So when I had just got 70 attack and was sacing for a whip, and someone told me that he would sell a whip to me for 700k in Edgeville, I already knew what he was doing. Just don't trade in Edgeville, chances are, they're a lurer.

Since the wildy warning sign now is practically useless already, why not Jagex put a very obvious line(say white line) that seperates wildy and non-wildy. This way, players can easily see if that particular person he's gonna trade with is in wildy or not

One of my near friends once lost full rune (t) in wildy, beacuse he trusted a lurer.

When I'm in w2 and see a lurer I always follow them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So I follow them and attack a 102. I guess I made him use all of his sharks and I had like 12 monk fish left when he teled. Then he came back and I almost koed him twice and he teled. Third time he came back I just dds'ed him once and ran XD

I was buying full Sara and this guys says he'd sell. "Meet me at edgy bank, my world". I never get suspicous, I sell a lot of my stuff at edgy bank too. He then asks me to cross the bridge east of Edgy because he's laggignand can't move. Owkaaaaay. I bank my cash and head for the place. I trade him surprise surprise, 4 people my level did TB, blitz, spec, spec and dead. Back in Lumbridge I pm the guy and say I forgot to withdraw my cash. He logs out.

Hmm...I've been lured when I was a lvl four, and I saw the guy agan a couple days ago luring a lvl 5, I tried to save him but...our lvls were too far apart. I snagged a couple of his good items and gave them back to the lvl 5, though. :)

Anyone care to tell me what point there is in luring a level 4 :-s . What could you possibly hope to gain? a 100 gp in items?

Its ok to trade in edgy, just make sure its edgy bank.

I never got that myself... But it seems that the Lurers generally want the higher levels and get the lower levels caught along. Sheesh, i just realized i went in the wildy with my full rune, no food, and no telly runes... And my run energy was nearly gone... That was DUMB :XD:

Just remember if it sounds to good to be true it most likely is.

Don't bother wasting your time. If you still don't know RS, you'll end up being called a noob by the guy you're trying to save.

0mg, I just lured a lvl 4 for 5 gp + noob items!!!
