While we're on the topic of defense/combat, can I get some reasonable suggestions as to bonuses that I don't have listed, (e.g. crush, slash, range, and stab)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Like how much of a negative bonus versus ranged, and how much of a positive bonus versus melee.

Try using "code" tags instead of "quote" tags to display sig bbcodes. That way you can close "img" and "url" tags properly, and not have to explain how to fix anything.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'll take a backseat on the specific bonuses for the time being. I hadn't given it much thought, truth be told.

Support. But here are my small suggestions:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1) A new spell for f2p: I believe Jagex should just give you snare, all I can think of that wouldn't send the rabid f2p-haters berserk.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2) New armor: Hell yes. But perhaps it could have the magic offense of splitbark (lower than mystic yet higher than wizard) but the defence of mystic but slightly lower? That could work fairly in an f2p mage's favor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

F2P mages really are underpowered in wild, as are rangers (in a way). Mages should get a new armor, and rangers should get blue d'hide IMO. But I won't get further off-topic than that, so I hope this gets through to Jagex so they implement this! :D

When I made the post before my last I hadn't realised there would be a defence requirement on the robes. Infact i'm still not sure? If I read it correctly it says you need a requirement of 30 magic and 40 defense. Komodoman could you clear that up?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'd just like to add that F2P isn't the full version of the game, you have to get P2P if you want a more fair combat triangle. In F2P nobody pks on anything other than a pure unless above the level of around 90. If you had 40 defense you wouldn't be pure.

As to your comment on f2p not being a full version of the game, clarify on what you mean there, do you mean that f2p is nothing more than a demo, or is it just a different form of what seems to be the good old standby that I hear a lot, "you don't pay, you don't get anything"? Or is it possibly something else tthat I haven't gotten?

F2P is a "full version" of sorts. Like it or not, it's a stand-alone game that is still receiving the odd update (in addition to graphic updates and what have you). There is no time limit, no level limit on the accessable skills - it's no demo. Try thinking of P2P as an expansion pack. A really freakin' good expansion pack, but an expansion pack.

Currently, that is pretty much the case. I don't really know why, though; it's difficult to justify purchasing a product when the sample is obviously flawed.

Pures don't usually have a problem with their equipment being expensive. Check out the level 20-30 mages in Edgeville or Varrock - you'll notice that, despite the fact that their kills are pretty much worthless, they're still blasting away with deaths and chomping on lobsters. So no, I doubt that would prevent the lower-level mages from further skewing the lower-level triangle.

I think the reason that Komodo's a little reluctant to add that to the original post, is that it's emphasizing something other than what he's trying to emphasize.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's true that P2P gets a lot more neat stuff than we do, but that's not really the reason that Komodo's making this suggestion. Focusing on the fact that we can't use P2P equipment carries some implication that we're asking for something purely because we have less stuff than paying members - which wouldn't attract much support.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rather, the suggestion is based on an imbalance in F2P combat, and potential fixes for that imbalance - which is something your sig doesn't really convey. I hope that makes sense to ya.
