Simply the best music lol. The bands I'm talkin about are Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica, Evanescence (sorta metalish) and Lacuna Coil... Of course there are more these are just my personal favourites :P. Anyone else fans of these bands (and the other ones of course)?

i hate female fronted metal, gives me a headache. and just in case anyone metions this, Hole is horrible. Courtney love is ug-ly and she killed Cobain.

I quite like arch enemy. You wouldn't guess that the singer is female but once you know about it, you can see how her voice is different to male growling. It has a more *pleasant* ring to it but pleasant isn't the right word. It just sounds nice to me.

I'm not massively into angry chicks n' their guitars, but I think Lacuna Coil are pretty good. That's Italian girl is really something.

As for female fronted metal... really depends on the vocals I guess. If the singer is sub-par, there really is very little that the rest of the band can do to pick up her slack. See: Autumn, Evanesence.

I like it. Seeing someone as Lisa Miskovsky perform in dead end with In Flames, well, she sounds good in it. And I gotta agree people like Tarja Turunen in Nightwish sounds great as well. Overall, its good to hear when you feel like hearing something different.

Arch Enemy are female fronted. Most people don't even realise that the first time they hear the band. I fail to see how that would be taking away the mood...

Depends. In Flames - Dead End has an awesome female vocalist, but I dislike female fronted metal. Think it sounds a bit crap to be honest, tho Arch Enemy sound good :)
