It looks partialy traced.

umm ever heard of dithering? aaing? you need some tuts. try DH's tut (demented hero for those mentally challenged)

the ground he's on has horrible shading and the shading on the guthans needs atleast two more colours and dithering.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If your still stuck pm a good pixeler (Ter, b2d, faelenof, hiimbem,mgdh, mxm etc)

it looks really really traced... who would make guthan that fat by choice?

It does look traced, for sure. :-k But, I dunno, I actually quite like the style. :P Has a different feel to it, not like the generic ones that everyone does (me included).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I like the water, nicely done. You could dither the ground a little more, and add a bit more detail into it, as it just looks like one smooth, flat rock-thing, and that's a little boring. :P The DK's left arm has an odd position, as if it's in between it's legs, so fiddle with the outline there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Speaking of outlines, the really dark outlines on the Guthans and the spinolyp make them seem a little out of place though.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overall, traced, but has a style that I find interesting. :)

I didn't trace, but I did used a refrence. I marked grids on both pictures and went from there... It seems everyones pointing out what I do wrong and shoving it down my throat, it's only my first one, please go easy. I remember tip.it'ers being nice and friendly, but now.. geeze..

To be honest... It's called constructive criticism. They point out the things you did wrong in your sig, so you can make it better. They're not just shoving it down your throat to be mean. :P

Get your own style is my advice. Copying the scene you see ingame is nearly as bad.

Copying is the first step to getting better at drawing.. :wink:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I copied stuff (no tracing, only copying a reference) for about a year before I began drawing my own pictures well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Onto the sig: You need more textures and "interesting objects" in your signature - the ground wouldn't be that flat either. You've made the color difference between each shade much too big...it doesn't look real anymore

looks more like a vector (the way its blocky colours and very similar to the actual RS characters) rather than a pixel, but good none the less

I like really like the water :) you should try to texture the ground, too.

Just a little note about text: I kept on reading "Miss Ion Boy" and thinking -huh? Why is "she" a miss, but a boy?

unlikely but possible, considering tools like blur and such produce color counts of within the 1000's

Quite good. Very good for a first pixel :), but the ground's shading could use some work.
