.... So? Well, C++ is the scripting language WoW and other games uses. So maybe there is coming a new version of runescape. For todays graphics, runescape is not up-to-date.

well, jagex did say that all upcoming updates take months to a year in the making. maybe they have a beta verson of rs with even better graphics. we may never know till it hits us.

yeah i saw the post, but this is some real prove, they need engineers who can understand the c++ language.

With all the latest Grpahics update, I doubt we will see a new RS, there just updating the graphics rather than makinga whole new version to save time. E.G, the new Varrock update (which is coming soon)

Well, its not proof. There might be a new game, based on the Runescape "storyline". Like Warcraft strategy series. (1 - 3) and World Of Warcraft mmorpg.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So it might not be a RS3. But rather a entirely new game created by JageX.

a few different points to be taken into consideration here:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1) C++ is incredibly similar to java with just a few differences and as it is argueably the hardest language, when you know that any other languages can be easily picked up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2) There are rumours that a compltetely new game is coming out in February 2008 which has a sci-fi based story line.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3)Runescape is based on java but has its own scripting language which may for all we know incorperate c++

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How ever if we look at the jagex corpere site we can see some things they may give us more hints for example they are advertising for a 3-d modellor and 3-d animater with both descriptions needing the baility to desgin "vehicles" but there is also this:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ability to work with maximum size/complexity limitations, and create great looking low-polygon count models;

which suggests runescape based images

OK, firstly it's fairly common practise to ask for skills in a number of development environments when you're advertising for a programming position. As has been pointed out C++ and Java are reasonably similar - yet different enough to catch people out in an interview situation if they weren't truly familiar with each language. Doing this ensures that the candidates who make it through have a sound understanding of programming principles and can apply them to different languages rather than simply have learnt a language by rote at school and be able to copy / paste script examples.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Secondly the position is for a graduate developer... that means straight out of university pretty much. Still rather wet behind the ears (and not asking for too much money). Certainly not the sort of programmer you would take on to build a major revision of an MMORPG.

notice it is the jagex jobs...not rs, so could be work on a different game all together, or just updating the current rs

Hmmm... If Runescape had those graphics, people would the game even more. But dang, that's so detailed. I hope that's what rs3 will look like if it comes out in our lifetime

um why would they have a huge graphic update today if hthey working on a tiotally new version

IF they make the graphics like that, the population of the game would increase more and more each year....

The graphics are somewhat like KalOnline and this other game for Xbox 360

Lol CC+ Is for their website; if not it's another programming language that's less popular than Java, HTML, or Javascript so no one can rip their client, get their game, or their website. Simple. Also their are tooo many updates going on in RS2 To get a new Rs. Graphical updates; agility courses; quests; it's all too much. They'd hold up the updates for a bit to work on a new Rs if they were going to have a new one they are working on.
