On-topic: The guy who said getting to 70 ranging, i would LOVE to get to 70 range, but buying the arrows/knives are such a pain for me. I honestly want to get to 70 ranging as its a skill i've always liked, yet hardly trained. Any tips on this?

Kill minotaurs (lvl 27 I think) in the Stronghold of Security. They drop lots of iron arrows, and they drop them often.

Nice idea, but training with what? I wanna kill them quick, so no armour killing is quite slow. I can't kill them with range, and i have like 1 DDS. I think i'll just use that.

mine the iron in varrock east mining... bank it and repeat. take you about 2-3 days to get 1k ores if that.

Then go make bars, rings of forgine... all the more better. If you dont have any forge rings, you will probably get about 450-520 bars. Grab a hammer, and make yourself 2250+ iron knives... There you go, that is well enough to get you some ranged levels. Then repeat.

For faster money, repeat the process you did in fremmy trials for making and enchanting a lyre. Make a few of them, then use a air staff plus laws.

-Use lyre tele, go to waterbirth isle, collect all snape grass you can.

-Tele to cammy, bank and repeat.

-Sell snape grass on forums and bam there is some spare cash to pay for iron knives which are about 35ea if im not mistaken.

EDIT: Tmottbd is right, they do drop alot of arrows and with your def lvl, they should rarely hit you and if they do its a max of 2...

Apparently, my signature was to big.

To me it seems that you have to think about a few questions before anyone can help you.

First: What aspects of the game do you like and enjoy? What are your skills in those things?

Second: what do you want money for? In the short run, to buy a certain item? Or to have a more or less steady income in the long run?

What I mean is that it may be a lot better for you to spend your time doing things you think is fun, but earns you a little less money. All suggestions you got was things you thought was boring. Well, what is fun for you? Noone but yourself can answer that.

Also, if you want money in the long run - work on your skills instead of working for other players. Working for other players may give more cash right now... They pay you for your time to collect raw materials for them. It is important to keep in mind that with skills comes money - perhaps your time is better spent collecting raw materials for yourself, in a skill you enjoy?

Want variation? Train some slayer. Dont go for the hardest slayer masters, choose canifis or edgeville. That way you get fairly easy assignments, where you dont need much food. Lots of slayer monsters drop both clues and lots of herblore stuff. Do the clues, keep the herblore stuff and other drops in bank for later. Your combat will go up, and that will make for example quests easier. And in my opinion its very good to have a mix of different raw materials in bank, since that makes it easier to do what you are in the mood for at the moment.

Chop easy wood like oak or willow, carve bows and sell them to general shop. Fletching and wc levels for you, bonus if you get nests with tree seeds.

Lots of variation. Question is still - what do you enjoy to do in game?

Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)

Me, i want to be like all good players. Having Robin Hood hats, range boots, dragon axe, RICH THINGS. I've never really had enough time, or reason, to continuously work on a skill i enjoy! E.g. Woodcutting. Ranging i find fn, but then i need money to buy the resources, arrows/knives, food possibly.

My question!

What spends less money and gives more xp? Iron knives or iron arrows.

How much are each of these items? I know knives hit fast, but are they worth it? Can i get more xp from iron arrows, despite less money and arrows? These questions i cannot answer because i've never tested, and don't intend to because i don't have the items!

If you have 76 fletching, then make a stack of bronze or iron arrows, make , buy or scrounge some basic leathers, then range the Minotaurs (level 12's or 27's) over the fences in a couple of the rooms. Your range level will soon increase, and even a level 3 can survive easily there, and not use any food.

If you want a bit of risk/reward, then make the best armour you can, then go kill some good clue droppers - though you need a level 3 clue to be up for the chance of a 3rd age item - and an instant end to your cashflow problems.

Thinking of taking my main to members after a few more levels, and clue bagging would definitely be on the agenda.

trick of the trade, 1st get 55 mage, with 70 fletching you can buy the logs make yew longs and high alch for 700+ each, start by investing some cash in runes to get 55 mage, than sell some stuff to buy nats, pick your own flax (or buy) than there it is 1k yew longs high-alched equalls 700k+ in about a day (if you can afford to buy everything) or like week doing everything yourself if you find it hard to spend time doing this... nevermind...

This is where they want I should sign?

76 woodcutting? I have 80 woodcutting and I don't fletch or high alch. I have a dragon axe also which I only got from woodcutting. I suggest woodcutting but this is only because I like it so it's really up to you.

for someone with a busy life and all thoes things going for them.... why would they be asking so many questions how to get rich on a game quick

if you really do have that much of a 'life" you would have alredy found out that you suck at runescape and would have quit or found a new game...........

Theres no real answer to the questions your asking.

everything takes time. if everyone could get a mill in a few minutes (with the expception of staking) you wouldnt have to worry about getting that extra million gp to get a dragon axe

If your not willing to get some exp because you have a so called ''life'' then quit.

i dont think a person with that kind of life that you just described would try that hard to get some cash in a GAME without having to spend some time on it.

+1.

Please be respectful of all players, and do not bother asking if you must be rude. I like enimen0's thoughts, no real way to get rich real quick. Seems like you value materials over the value of this game.

Lets break down what the game has to offer, choices. Choices to do as she or he pleases without any regard if it is right or wrong. Choices that are wrong are cheats. Seems you like to get the easy way out. But with doing so, you feel only a little satisfaction. If you work very hard, you get more pleasure out of it.

It is the true value of this game that makes RuneScape top notch. I can not express this but you have to work to get what you want.

Manage the Kingdom is a great way to get money. MikelP stated that it is best to put 75,000 in. I would start off as much as you can.

With your so called "life" it seems you find the time to update and manage this topic daily. Fishy to me, but thats what I think.

Dag Kings, do that if you really want a dragon axe. Find guides on how to solo.

Can we got of the subject that i have a life? All i need is helpful tips, i'm reading all the comments and 3/4 of the post is about life. Though i did seema bit harsh, its just my opinion, now these are the questions i would liek to be answered:-

:::For Ranging:::

-Iron knives or iron arrows?

-Monster?

-How long?

-Drops?

-Possibility of clue? (Clue 1 or 2, NOT 3)

I'm not much bothered of gaining money ATM, id rather gain a skill that i enjoy, which someone said, and make money through that. As in, kill big monsters ranging. I would also like to complete Monkey Madness, which is hard for me.

ANOTHER QUESTION!!!

Prayer is another skill i would like to get up, but don't know the best way, i don't do Ectophial (sp?), as i havn't done the quest thingy, and never been to Port Phatrys (sp?)

So does anyone know a good way, with ranging, i can gain prayer xp? Thanks, and sorry for my mean comments, i wasn't in the mood.

The fastest way for prayer is to go up from varrock to about lvl 21 wildy to the east side of the Zombie Graveyard. There is a respawn of about 21 bones total I believe, some big some small. Just go at it burying like your life depended on it. Otherwise, bury every bone you get while training ranging to help you on the way. If you're low lvl, try playing around with the cows and hobgoblins around the crafting guild. If you're 50+, Taverly dungeon against the big blue dragons using the range spot is the way to go. Big dragon bones for excellent prayer exp, and blue dhide that you can sell for a decent price.

Either way, I find using iron arrows the most reliable over all. For clues, the blue drags will drop lvl 2-3's. The hobgoblins will drop a 1 or 2 rarely. The cows might drop a 1 in a year or so :P.

since real life seems to be ur forte..let's compare

do u go to ur "real job" and work for 2 hours and get a nice fat bonus?? if u do i'd like to know what ur job is and how can i start.

but most likely the answer is no. you WORK for the money u make and over time u start to accumulate a nice sum in the bank account. that is if u dont want rich things irl as well..

runescape is no different. you have to put time and effort into making large amounts of money. and i find that usually when i work for something, and at the end i finally reach that goal, it's much more rewarding then taking shortcuts, or getting it the quick way. *applies to rl and rs for me*

like it has been said though i believe ur placing to much of an importance on "rich items"

dont worry though ur not the only 1..a few days ago a kid said i was a failure at life b/c i didnt have d-legs @ 101 cmbt..

U should spend one day (when weather is bad and all ur mates are busy) mining essence since ur mining is so good. That will get u 100 gp ea per essence. With that money u can Manage ur kingdom and make an easy 150k per day with merchanting and/or smithy and crafting.

Maybe u can get your friends to play with u and have some qualtiy time with them that way.

I've put all the money making stuff behind. I'm going for a long-term goal that will get great profit. Music + Powerming = Success. I'm almost 80 mining, going for 85. I know rune mining isn't easy, but i know its VERY good money. 11k each ore, ya can't complain. I done hero's quest, so i can access the rune mine (even though its normally taken, or no ore left) and wildy isn't a problem. I think i got like... 100k xp in 3 hours mining at iron on a VERY busy world, no one was at Chasm mine...

I can make 1m in 2 days.....you just need 450k.

And how by?

Frankly, your never gonna find a "make 10 mil in 1 hour" plan, unless you scam., which is a big-time cheap way. :shame: :shame: :shame: You need to pick a skill and stick with it, such as cut 4k yews in a week or so, then fletch them, then sell them or alch them. Or just sell the yew logs. No matter what you do, you won't get rich fast.

Well IMO, thats very time consuming and i get bored after playing for 2 hours. Besides, gold is boring and so is mining. Ever sicne granite mining needed waterskins i quit mining...

That's your problem. Your too lazy. If you expect to get real money, expect to really work for it. Unless, or course, you stake. Then you can be as lazy as you want.

No offence to anyone who finds this offensive, but...

Me, lazy because i don't sit on my bum and play a game for more than 2 hours? I have REAL friends to see, a REAL job to do, and some REAL money to get. So i'm not a no-lifer, probably like you, who just thinks Runescape is REAL. Like i said, no offence to anyone who finds this offensive, its just i'm not in the mood for a comment, being lazy sitting down clicking...

P.S. Maybe you should go out and not be lazy, your obviously getting to stuck into the game, frying your brain up with comments to offend me. I found that offensive, calling me lazy. Its a HELP forum, not a rant forum. Don't have a period because i'm not a no-lifer! Get over it that atleast 20% of Runescape players are not like you...

:-w someones gettin tetchy...

u posted on help and advice forums...people are givin u advice= There is NO such thing as fast millions (except staking  but this is risky :ohnoes: ) so if u listen to wat most people have said, which i will say again...pick a skill, stick to it and if it gets borin stick on some music and eventually the cash will come rolling in...i have a REAL JOB, I got REAL friends and earn REAL money and i aint a nonlifer but i accept that there is no get rich quick scheme on RS and am prepared to work a while for my cash.. ::' (i dont stake cos (a) i dont like losin items i worked hard for and (B) i aint got nothin stakeable  )

This thread is ridiculous. Many people tries to help and you keep putting them down. You said you have REAL life and REAL friends... So does everyone else have (atleast I believe). Why you keep whining about that you play "only" about 2 hours a day and can't get money..? 2 Hours is more than enough to make millions if you stop wasting your time whining in forums why can't you have robin hood hat etc. Just go and fish like 1k lobs makes you get over 200k cash. And it dosn't even take too long.

Last words: If you really don't mind work for getting your money, stop dreaming of those robin hood hats, and all other "rich things".

Oh btw. I forgot that most people that say others "no-lifes", are the most "no-lifes" themselfs. <.<
