February 11, 200719 yr Here is a new idea to help out frustrated players who make a second/third etc. account; going through Tutorial Island. It gets so boring after already doing it, but some people do like it. So, what I propose is this: Skipping Tutorial Island! When you signup, you click a link that says "Already have an account?", and then secure-login with your old account. Then, you can click either "I want to skip Tutorial Island" or "I don't want to skip Tutorial Island". This way, you can avoid having to go through it all (unless you want to, of course) and get straight to the game! To clear things up, this option is only available to people who log in as one of their older accounts. So this means that new players still have to go through tutorial island! Also, one problem people have pointed out is macroing. So, to solve this, you will have a random event appear in the first 15 minutes or so (anout the time it takes to do Tutorial Island), in which you are automatically teleported (eg. Evil Bob, Grab the Evil Twin etc.), which will stop the bot but will hardly affect the normal player. If you don't like the idea, give constructive comments as to how to improve it. Flaming is neither big nor clever. February 11, 200719 yr The only problem is macroers. This would make making more accounts to macro a lot easier. In the time it takes to go through tutorial island, a macro could make who-knows-how-many accounts. And that's bad. February 11, 200719 yr Sincerely, if I got the chance I wouldn't go through Tut Island at first, and I would be lost. It teaches lots of things. No! You'll die if you try to kill that farmer!nah whips should be as left as is. besides theyre the intestine of an abbysal demon (i think) have fun crafting that.
February 12, 200719 yr 1. Easier for Autoers 2. Do you want more new players coming up to you and asking what to do all the time? like how to mine or to smithing something? :|
February 12, 200719 yr Be greatful that RuneScape tutorial island is only short. I recently started playing Rappelz and their tutorial island, I mean "trainee island" takes 4 hours to complete and you are well over level 10 by the time you've finished it.
February 12, 200719 yr Its a good idea until you realize, most people aren't going to bother going through Tutorial Island at all then, and they will be running left and right asking people how to do the most basic stuff. ~Ddaanniiellh : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
February 12, 200719 yr Author Just to clear things up, you will only have the option to skip Tutorial Island once you have signed in with an old account. New people will not be able to use this feature as they do not have an older account. Also, to stop macroers, people signing up will have to type in a six character code shown as a picture (like in RSC sleeping bags). Probelmo solved! \
February 13, 200719 yr pretty good idea now that you've cleared that up. Maybe it will happen in the future... :ohnoes: GUESS WHAT? The RED SOX and PATRIOTS are awesome, and there is nothing you con do about it.CURRENT GOALS: Smithing 42/50...Fishing 47/50...Magic 35/33 Completed!! ...Attack 40/40 Completed!!!I bought bgs 29.1m 3 days ago, sold yesterday at 30m (for those who are mathematically challenged: 800k profit). February 14, 200719 yr I just have to say... Macroers can DO things in real life. (Wow, isn't that amazing?) They can enter the code in personally. Then let the macro program take over, and then destroy the world. And we'll all die. Yay. How fun. Macroers are still the only flaw to this. February 14, 200719 yr maybe, they could had a system where yur type in your main username, and if it has logged on recently, has combat level above 40, or has no marks. then you coiuld skip
February 14, 200719 yr It would be nice, but there is a downside, macroers making account in a snap. :| I personally would rather take 15 minutes to make another account, than rather have a thousand more autoers.
February 15, 200719 yr I just have to say... Macroers can DO things in real life. (Wow, isn't that amazing?) They can enter the code in personally. Then let the macro program take over, and then destroy the world. And we'll all die. Yay. How fun. Macroers are still the only flaw to this.Hit the nail square on its head. There's no reason the macro-owner can't just type in the code and let it rip. No support. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
February 15, 200719 yr 1. Easier for Autoers 2. Do you want more new players coming up to you and asking what to do all the time? like how to mine or to smithing something? :| tutorial island offers free experience and i must agree that it would make it too easy for autoers. also i have enough noobs following me asking me things, and even if you use the ignore list they follow me relentlessly. so this is just i bad idea 2 thumbs way down. :?: :?: :?: :?: If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.
February 16, 200719 yr Man that 10+ supports just killed me by laughing. But it would be easier for autoers. I say they add some randoms in the tutortial island to teach them about autoers and to make the autoer owners to accutally do something. Quit RuneScape :)
February 16, 200719 yr It would be nice, but there is a downside, macroers making account in a snap. :| I personally would rather take 15 minutes to make another account, than rather have a thousand more autoers. even though it sounds nice, more macroers would be horrible. With your system they can still take 15 minutes to make 1 account then make tons more in no time at all.
February 16, 200719 yr I totally agree about it, though im not sure about the macroing thing... Besides macros, I think they should throw players off in lumby when they create their account, and then maybe put a few more tutors in. I mean, the meelee guide and ranged guide are like what, 10 steps away? Even newbie players should be able to find their way to the tutors... Or maybe they should just throw them off in Lumby and make a "Teleport Tutorial Island" spell like for all players...
