Surprised? This rare is so commonly and currently known as the Phat, short for Party Hat. QUESTION: Why does everyone want that crown made of colored paper so badly? FACTS: - The Phat came out in Christmas of 2001 (currently 6 years ago). - The Phat is not Members only and is not from a quest - The Phats prices have been rising, but prices have crashed a few times since they've came out - There are 6 different colors for the Phat (red, white, purple, blue, green, yellow) - A Phat can be obtained by a Party Cracker (party crackers will be discussed later on) - Low Alchemy Price: 1gp - High Alchemy Price: 1gp - General Store sells 3gp - Phats are completely tradeable - f2p and p2p - Examine description is: A nice hat from a cracker - Phats are not stackable - Phats have no stat bonus' Current Prices on Phats: White: Sal's Realm - 290mil - 310mil, Runehq - 258mil - 263mil, Players - 250mil Red: Sal's Realm - 240mil - 260mil, Runehq - 205mil - 230mil, Players - 200mil Purple: Sal's Realm - 160mil - 180mil, Runehq - 148mil - 155mil, Players - 140mil Blue: Sal's Realm - 450mil - 500mil, Runehq - 422mil - 430mil, Players - 390mil Green: Sal's Realm - 190mil - 210mil, Runehq - 170mil - 177mil, Players - 170mil Yellow: Sal's Realm - 175mil - 200mil, Runehq - 160mil - 170mil, Players - 140mil So... Does nearly everyone want a Phat because it's a sign of wealth (a sign to hackers, too :ohnoes: )? Or do they want it because it's simply a good, yet BIG, goal? Or is it for future investment? The phat has 0 stat bonus' so whats the point of having one? The Party Hat - Part 2 QUESTION: What are the popular colors for the phat? Where are the best and most popular selling/buying spots? In-game or on forums? FACTS: - Different runescape forums are poplular for selling/buying phats. This is to save time from having to repeat yourself in-game and also to avoid scammers, hackers and spammers. - One in-game spot for selling/buying phats is in the Falador Park, World 2. The exact location is against the northern wall of the Park. - From different information sources it leads that the Purple Phat is the cheapest of all colors. So... - The Purple Phat is probably the most popular because its the cheapest and people think, "a party hat's a party hat..." - The best spots for selling/buying are in forums or on members worlds such as World 2. The Party Hat - Part 3 QUESTION: How fast are we losing Party Hats? Because their so rare are we barely losing any, or because of so many ways to die that we lose them at a slightly faster rate? FACTS: - Party Hats are extremely rare and valuable - There are many random events that could possibly kill you when your not looking - Many older players are quitting leaving Party Hats in their banks to never be seen again. - There are many many more players coming therefore out numbering the amount of Phats GREATLY. So... I figure we are losing Phats but at an extremely SLOW rate. In about 5-8 years Phats will be even more rare and cost much more. With so many more players joining its make the number of Phats look smaller and smaller. Feel free to give me your opinion and to post any missing information about Party Hats. Who spends weeks upon weeks of hard work so they can simply show off a piece of colored paper sitting on their heads? The investment is good but theres not that many for people to invest in. I would also like you to note that Phats have not exactly been going up ever since they were released. They crashed at the dupe, they crashed in June of 2005, they've been dropping for the past 2-3 months as well overall. As a investment for the future That pretty much sums it up. The reason I got a p hat is because 1) It looks good 2) The price will always go up 3) It shows wealth. Pretty much what was said above. Fun with paint. Drink night cough medicine, take pills for sleeping, or just start playing with your Pokeman balls!
