Question for all you mathmaticians. How do you find the deviantion between your skills. My math level is -69.

2008 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS DETROIT REDWINGS

This article actually made me a little sad.

Does anyone else find the fact that it IS all about leveling a little disturbing, or is it just me? I could swear this game used to be fun-related.

Something I think Runescape has gotten away from, and I think this is evidenced by the "Make-X" options, is being consistently enjoyable. It's a game for crying out loud, and yet many parts of it are as onerous as doing your chores.

It used to be that the community and having people to talk to made the skilling fun and worthwhile. Now we don't even have that.

Ah well, now I'm rambling. Don't mind me - I'm just a disillusioned Runescape Classic player who thinks that he shouldn't have to click quite so much in a game made for fun. I'll just stick to my PKing, my last refuge in a game full of monotony.

i started to feel the same way - disillusioned with rs. i quit for a few months, but when i came back i found the thing that is now really fun for me - hunter! it doesn't require huge quantities of clicks, the animations (especially deadfall) are cute and hilarious, and it doesn't require you to go out and do monotonous things to raise cash ("selling 5k coal, 140 each!!"). people do stupid stuff to get levels, fletching being an example.

has anyone considered the possibility that lauren1211 is homosexual? anyone, anyone at all?

Interesting thought, but not a good read... Didn't like this one as much

I use MS Excel or Open Office Calc. Both of them have standard deviation as a built-in function.

hugh_mannity.png

I bet I will never get a skillcape. Not even in fletching! I can't dedicate myself to one thing. :wall: At least my total level will be high... :D

My F2P Moneymaking Guide!

Always gargle before a takeoff. Wakka Wakka!

It is not completly like RS in real live, but be sure that for washing the expensife stuff, your mother will wait until you are lvl up enough for keeping it at one pease.

And just as in the game, the more time you spent the more you will advance. Of course the difference is that you will not become a experienced worker by dedicating in watering the flowers, or stamping the letters. In the game it is possible to lvl up with shrinks and then go for a shark, not in real live.

Besides that, I am a midlvl in the game, and in real live also I guess. Being very dedicated is not how you can describe me.

StGerolf.png

very good article.

If only you could level up in real life. I could get out of so much work its not funny. level 99 laziness ftw

wailord.png

If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.

awesome article i enjoyed the whole thing right to the very end!

maybe i will see you in some random place at some random time soing some random skill! :-w

edit: first post 4th page!

i want to get my skilz up to 99 but all at 70 is good for me too, wish me luck on my 3 week combat only 1 trip per skill idea, btw, i need a new rune hally for the def & str training, pm me

!!~~DanMan2012~~!!

I can't honestly say I like this article, I believe if you want something, you go for it. You compared real life with runescape, it's not possible to have a dishwashing level, true. But! If you want a promotion, you brown nose, you dress nicer, you act more professional. All of which to go for a goal, for someone to say they're to lazy to get something in a game can be reflective on real life situation. Especially when comparing a game like runescape to life.

I think just because it's a game, doesn't mean it can't show how determined someone may be in real life.

I liked the article!

I love skills myself!

I was wasting too much iron ore in smelting. So let's make rings of forging, eh? So I needed to make runes to level magic cheap, right?

I'm at runecrafting 33, magic 52 (more teleports, another story) and finally can make a profit at smithing.

A rounded character *needs* lots of very different skills. Great game, eh?

How can you have any disagreement with such an affordable game? And Jagex acually care to maintain and update this game. Wonderful.

Aah another clue!

Actually, it could mean the Editor is a mom!?! :ohnoes:

tifuserbar-dsavi_x4.jpg and normally with a cool mind.

(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)

yeah i agree this article. i too am a " jack-of-all-trades" i have also calculated my standard deviation =8.47 *a voice from above says congratulations, you have just advanced a mathematics level. You are now level 96. members can now try to calculate multi numerical probabilities of chance."

fletchcape,lanze%20eriee.gif lanze%20eriee.gif

Yeah I agree...I'm an all rounder too. I like to see how manly skills I can work on all at once. I'm one of those people that wished you could burn your bows (then I discovered highalching), or I range blue dragons when I could move to something else con a friend of mine is going to 80 craft.....

ITS ALL ABOUT THE LEVELS!!!!!

Great article!

The are far too few geeks in RS. I'm probably not the biggest, but I'm up there. Most of my geeky statements are met either with silence, or the occasional 'wtf!?'.

Case in point: while chopping yews, some unproductive sloth came up near me and starting doing the spin emote - over and over and over again. I accused him of robbing the Earth of its momentum (citing the law of conservation of angular momentum) and thus making the day a tiny bit longer. He just laughed at me, called me a nerd, and walked away.

I lost 0.000000003461472 hours of sleep because of him. Sleezeball.

(Censored for the proliferation of unadulterated safe-for-young'uns reading material).

prokillar.gif

angular what?

I would put a cool link here but I don't know how.

You advanced a reading level... you can now sit through reading a tip it times without flicking back to rs and stringing 14 more bows...

well... i think thats a few reading levels away actually... (no offence) off to varrock library...

anyway, great post, im an allrounder too!!! \'

you have advanced a writing level... you can now write a forum post without flicking back to rs and spining 28 more flax (and getting a kebab and beer from that stupid dwarf  )

even that level is quite far away... -.-

you advanced a flicking between 2 windows level...

now im 99 <3:

just so everyone knows, you can make your mouse's spinwheel thing switch between windows when u click it, anyone who uses the click function to scroll faster is odd...

anyway... great tip it times, make 3 per week

Never understood how skillers handle the mindless tedium.... go into autopilot while listening to music, I guess. Got to pay a liittle attention, as the amount of time any action can be continued without ending or timing out seems to be getting shorter.

Gaining overall level through balance, is much faster that pushing against the massive level gap at 90+, often with no better methods than at the middle or lower levels.

The levels seem to follow a particular characteristic...

1-10: Mostly useless, but fast levels despite typically lower xp options, due to the low gap.

10-30: Gaining some capabilities, and still levelling once everey couple of item loads.

30-50: Slowing down, but maybe giving some payback

50-70: You are serious about training this, but it's a lot of bulk

70-90: If it's a resource gathering skill, you are getting rich, if it's a resource consuming skill, you have no cash left

90-99: You want this, you really want this. If F2P, the only useful 99 is smithing (rune).

At level 50, the awful realization is that the "halfway" level is nothing of the kind, and the next few levels are as tough as the entire progress to 50.

I never knew I was the editor, but apparently i am :-k

Whilst some might say it was a rather shallow article, it shed light on...my own?....Rs habits.

I've realized some of the skills that I was dedicated to training back when I was still a free player have now ground to a halt when I joined members. Well, it's mainly mining and smithing that's ground to a halt since it is far too arduous to train them for any extended period.

I am by no means a rich player even though I can runecraft natures and high alch the junk/stuff that I fletch/craft/smith. I prefer to gather all the materials I need for skill training and I am always appreciatiative of the people I've met donating items to me for skill training. Perhaps it's my solo-styled skill training that's made me lost interest in training certain skills.

Maybe the Genie needs to visit me more often or Juna should shorten the wait time between tear gathering sessions from 7 to 3 days.

(Did my reply have a point? Not really...)
