Zarfay
if thats geeky im a geek #-o i have always agreed with that point on pures and is the reason i dont have one, while my pure is say leveling woodcutting my main isnt meaning all the time going into a pure i could have gotten on my main which is a much better investment overall
D. V. Devnull
Alright, I've read the article, I've looked up and down this thread... now here comes my $0.02 (or more) on the matter... Long and short, I look at this article, and like how The Editor wrote it. It was almost as if it were written for the average bored RS players. (Looks to be that The Editor is one of us.) However, in my opinion, they also left a hidden message, which they had fun dancing around in writing this, and here is what it appears to be to me: --------------------------- The game has become a militaristic-variety mess. You're stuck doing this whole "run around, do what you're gonna do, log out again, and not have more control over communication in necessary interactions" thing. The community in-game has become damaged in a way that only external sites like Tip.It can patch. If it were not for places like these, RuneScape would possibly fall apart in the hate and sludge of distrust because a lot of its' players would just get bored and hateful of the lack of interactions and leave. Sure, you can have a friends list, but how can you make in-game friends without being able to talk freely, without being able to group up and gather together and combine for something awe-striking and truly fun, without not having to worry about the limitations of levels? ---------------------------- I'm gonna leave this to be thought over and discussed. For some reason, I feel like my mind may have side-walled and de-railed in typing this, as well as gotten a hair "radical-minded"... Well, that or I'm some kind of super-genius who can't use all of his smarts and brainpower in an on-demand manner. (But I think this unlikely... you tell me. Oh, and no flaming, please...) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.) JimmyMcNabb
Aah another clue! The Editor lives with his/her mom. Or the editor is a mum..... anyways back on topic, lol, I thought it was a good read. It also highlights something which I've always felt, laziest people are the most intelligent because why do things the long way round when you can plan it out relatively easily and do things quicker. For example, why be unfit and fat and have to carry all those excess lipids around when you could put in a lil bit of exercise every so often and carry around less weight. LOGIC. Hehe, if you want to see more examples of lazy men being the most intelligent, I'd recommend Terry Pratchett's book, "Moving Pictures". Anyways, good read. Emo Shmemo is what I say. Ooooh, another thing I just remembered, I have a friend who recently hit 99 wcing. And so she starts a noob account and then goes and gets 65 wcing on that.. What's the point?! andufusthebronze
I really liked this version of the Tip. it times. Its true, it is all about the levels. I hate people who create pures, because whats the point!? I knew I was going to have my one account from the start, and I have never been tempted to start another one ever! Andufus, is and will always be, my main account. I currently am trying to stick to one skill at a time, and thats why I'm not going to guve up, and I'm going to go and kill 128 rock slugs. yttrium88
Thank you for that. I was feeling pretty down about the whole levels thing last night, and this gave me hope for levels being fun again. Great article, very inspiring to me. Nedich
It used to be that the community and having people to talk to made the skilling fun and worthwhile. Now we don't even have that. Wow good point Kewl_Sabre, people are to wrapped up with competing over rocks or tree's. Or insulting the person next to them. It's quite strange, before I played Runescape if someone asked me if I wanted to go click some rocks in a room for fun i'd probably think they were being funny. Now what people do is almost mechanical I mean who wants to spend 4 hours a day cutting the same re-appearing tree down. It's almost eerie how this game sucks people in until you become a slave of it. Scary stuff. Ooops I seem to be digressing from the main topic I better get back to mining :P

Your stupidity level is now 99! ----- If the "Mysterious Editor" thread is still alive, you can add "not emo", "does not have a pure", and "is definitely not near the front page of the hi-scores". :D Kiss my axe. the_drunk_dude
wasnt there a fairly similar and yet different post about a similar subject? as i recall it was about how to lvl up more skills with one trip or something, someting w/ multi tasking
Feralmonkey
I agree great article! I am sufficently nerdy enough to know my standard deviation of my skill set is 8.3... not bad with an average of 61.7 I am also doomed to being a perpetual mid-level character. And I also don't understand the 'pure' mentality. I feel that having all level 80 skills is better then 1 level 99 skill. I hope to someday have a few level 99 skills, but it will most likely be by accident (Restocking my food supplies and get a message 'You just reached level 99 cooking!' wow... I was level 98 when did that happen? lol)

S11m
Most things in IRL doesn't work that way, but today when *trying* to play my acoustic guitar, my pal was tuning he's by ear. Then it came to me like this: Gratz, you have just advanced a guitar lvl! You can now tune your guitar by ear! ( i'm too noobish to do that atm, still need a sound sample) OR: Gratz, you have just advanced a guitar lvl! You can now play whit both hands! ( must be lvl 80+ something for this =P~ ) (by both hands i mean being able to play the notes whit both hands. i'm left-handed, but still play the guitar like right-handed people.) Elfs creating a crystal Axe would be like GreenPeace creating a Nuclear Powered Harpoon for killing seals...
netron28
Indeed, brilliant article. Most noobs in Runescape tend to have a literacy level of just 1, where the advanced players have at least level 80 in that skill. :P "Gain lvls? As a "lvl 3 skiller"? The clue's in the title, nub!"
