EEK, sue me..

I wear 'prep'. I like looking clean cut with wearing stuff such as A&F, AE and Hollister, sometimes Polo.

I don't know. I just like wearing that stuff. Call me superficial, or 'following the crowd'. But I am really not.

That's why I hate 'emos' sometimes, when ask why they do things, they say its because 'I want to be diffrent than everyone else'. Well, newsflash::EVERYONE THINKS THEY ARE EMO!

So wait...if you're not all haggard looking wearing random clothes with no sense of style you're good, but otherwise you're "just sad"? Whats wrong with following that look, the prep thing is pretty big, afterall. However, this applies to any look, goth, skater, etc. If you guys aren't into style or fashion so be it, but don't take it out on all of us because we think about what we put on before we go out everyday....

Theres nothing wrong with copying people its when you copy just because you want to fit in and dissing people just because the dress different is completely out of order.

I guess I am going to add something to this quote. Well I dress like Keep_It_Real. I wear Hollister, Pacsun, A.F., and Abercrombie. But not because I want to "Follow The Crowd." But because I like the way the cloths fit and they look very nice :P . They also fit me very well.

On this Emo/Goth topic:

Some "emos" and "goths" just disgust me. Not all, but some. The ones that wear A black shirt (with a bloody red logo on the front), black pants (with red strips going down the side), black shoes (also with red), black gloves  , and long hair over your eyes that you have not washed in 6 weeks. I can't stress this enough, take care of your body/hair! They walk around the halls with their earphones blasting music about killing themselves and completely ignoring what is going on around them. They walk around with a blank stare and rarely smile.

I have seen an "emo" couple and it was the most awkward damn thing I have ever seen. They were walking down the halls holding hands BOTH giving a blank stare into nothing. Not even talking to each other once.

Sometimes it blows my mind how you can live this way.

(Note: I am not saying that if you like to wear black cloths then you are disgusting. I happen to own a few black shirts. It's just the "true" emos and goths that bother me. This is completely my opinion and in no way do I think everyone should think this way.)

I think there was about 1 statement in there that was maybe, only maybe fair to say, that aint opinion that being offences because of your opinon. Now why you dont like them i dont maybe because you are lying about what you said at start and your just worrying about fitting and want to copy everyone, because you didnt give a single reason why not to like them and at the bottom you say this is your opinion and no one should think like this well if you dont want people to think like this why did you put that bit in small writing, probably because you do want people to hate goths and emos but you dont want to be offencese.Well guess what you already have been offences and how is that anything with what we were talking about you added a offense statement that was to do with nothing. Now i might be going over the top here but i just hate people who hate other people just because their different and no other reason.

How do you label clothes? Everyone labels themselves according to what they think they are/think they look like, yet very rarely does their opinion coincide with everyone elses.

For the record, I consider myself a Goth, and have for as long as I've been alive. It was how I was brought up... What kind of clothes do I wear? PVC minidress/skirts, corsets, stripper shoes... I also like to play dressup lots :D I'm the stereotypical "goth" I guess.

You really need to work on your grammar/spelling.

Anyway, no, you are COMPLETELY wrong on all your statements. I was browsing through the mall and came across an Abercrombie store and decided to try on some of their cloths. I loved how they fit so I bought some more, plain and simply.

I put the bit in small text at the bottom because it has NO meaning to the main topic of the post what-so-ever. I didn't say no one should think this, I said "In no way do I think everything should think this way." This means everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I am not trying to force this opinion at everyone.

I have no problem with people who are individuals. I have a problem with people who are individuals to be what they deem as individual. Although Emo/Goths must realize there are many people who are also Emo's and Goth's and there not really being individual they are copying others to be individual.

I like to dress nicely as it makes me feel good and i care about how I look. I have nothing against emo/goths but some are unhygenic and unpleasent to be around.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Answering the original question: simple, but classy clothing. I wear lots of skirts, dresses, high heels, 'elegant' trousers. A rather soft, romantic look, but without the frills. I have a soft spot for shoes and all sorts of special looking coats. I adore the clothes from the Belle Epoque and try to find that elegance in contemporary clothing. Audrey Hepburn is another fashion icon to me, she combined elegance and beauty in a classic look.

I have a very distinctive style, but it's a mix-and-match of what I find in the shops. I don't like being put in categories. Nevertheless, my clothes are very recognisably "Helena" (that's my name, in case you were about to look the style up on google :D).

I enjoy wearing the prep look. ::'

Give me a undershirt, a polo, jeans/cargo shorts, nice boxers, nice belt, flip flops, a bracelet, and a necklace, and that'd be my favorite outfit ever.

I generally shop at AE a lot, sometimes Aeropostale. I'm not really a brand [bleep], but the quality is a big difference. Some people say that these stores are expensive and that they can get it for cheaper elsewhere. But that's really not true. Aeropostale constantly has 50% off and AE has sales sometimes as well.

What I really like is American Eagle, it's just harder to find good prices for them. For example, a pair of cargo shorts I bought yesterday. Original price was $45. Well, it was on clearance for $30. And then I added 15% off because it was within a week of my birthday. So I ended up paying $25 for them. At Wal-Mart and Old Navy, you buy shorts for $20 each, but the $5 is seen in the difference in quality. (Plus, I'll admit, I think the eagle logo is sexy <3: . I don't like it when it's like ALL OVER YOUR SHIRT, but a tiny eagle logo really does brighten up a polo or your shorts (if someone's bored enough to find a eagle on your butt, lol).)

OH!! I also LOVE their flip flops. I got a pair of suede flip flops and they're SO comfortable. It's like walking on a cloud. <3: I also have some canvas and leather ones, but they don't get as much love as the suede ones.

Hm... what else?

Oh, I refuse to shop at Hollister. I think their clothes are ok, but the California surf look is imo, stupid. I'm willing to bet that half the people in my school that wear Hollister have never been to California, let alone know how to surf. And the prices are ridiculously high. $30 for a polo? <.<

A&F too. Even though the quality of the clothes is very good (I've tried on a few polos), the prices are outrageous. $70 for a polo? $100 for a pair of ripped jeans? Even though these clothes will probably last at least 10 years, I think I'd rather buy 4 sets of American Eagle clothes that would last me 3 years than 1 set that'd last me 10.

Just my two cents. \'

Personally, I just hate the concept of generalising people into some kind of sad, pathetic 'group' such as emo, or goth, or whatever.

As for clothes, I will tell you bluntly - I wear in general what I want to wear and I don't give a damn what others do. i would hate to have my fashion sense classified in some kind of general statement. It's really demening on the individual.

Issy says it all right there. I wear whatever the hell I think looks good, and when I go to clubs, you will never catch me in a skirt in the Winter. Just why would you do it? You ain't gonna attract any good attention dressed like that.

That remind me of this style that was going on this winter with girls at my school. Short skirts with furry boots. How crazy can they get?

Chavs are unpleasant to be around and unhygienic although not all but some goths/emos may take drugs more but chavs are roughly just as bad so why is all it dropped on goths/emos.I think because people dont like the way they dress, but i dont think everyone thinks this for instants i dont think you do,but a lot of people do.Although they might not admit it.

Because we where talking about Emo's and Goth and not Chavs. But yes, Chavs are probably worse to be around.

I really wish labels didn't exist...

I have skater clothes. I have a skater haircut (black and long), and i look like a skatekid

"I am free of all prejudices. I hate every one equally." -W. C. Fields

I have skater clothes. I have a skater haircut (black and long), and i look like a skatekid

I really wish labels didn't exist...

How the hell do you look like a skater? Unless you constantly have skates or a skateboard attatched to your feet, I really don't see it. Since when did "Skater" become a style? Posers.

I wear whatever works. The only thing I won't wear is stupid shirts with sayings on them, because they're annoying, and stupid shirts with dragons and flames on them like what Wal-Mart likes to pedal. Also annoying.

I also despise any male who wears pink because he thinks chicks dig guys who wear pink. That's the stupidest saying I've ever heard and has to be the worst attempt to get laid I've ever seen. If you have to dress a certain way to get chicks - You're too ugly and should just stop trying.

AE/Abercrombie/Hollister kids are also pretty lame. They pay $50 for a pre-faded shirt and $100 for pre-faded jeans and all they accomplish is looking like a pre-packaged jerk-off. These are usually the same people who wear pink to get chicks. Losers in general.

For the record, I'm not a prep-hating gothic weirdo. I dress nice, but I don't dress to get laid. I can do that without looking like a girl myself.

The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past.

- Me!

So, are you saying that any male that wears pink is doing it to get laid? If I wore pink one day, does it automatically mean that I'm trying to get laid?

How is he a poser? Could you please define poser for me? Sure, I hate labels, but you can view yourself as any style you want because they don't have any fixed meanings. There isn't a fixed style that goths, emos, preps, jocks, and skaters wear because those are all umbrella terms. You can't really accurately make those assumptions.

That's one of the many reasons why I hate labels.
