I'll add prices I'm seeing on all rares. @^ It doesn't look like there's more rares being sold then usual though. The prices are just dropping because everyone's freaking out about the rumor of a dupe. Pretty much all the phat merchants here are saying it's fake.

February 18, 200719 yr You guys know that all prices go up every friday and saturday then down again sunday afternoon. This is because many reasons. Mainly because more people play on the weekend, higher demand means higher prices. How convinient that the dupe rumor came out on sunday :XD: . I'm always buying snapdragon seeds, name your price.
February 18, 200719 yr I can see why some type of rumor would cause this kind of thing. Even if they sharply fell, they'll rise up again once people realize it was a fake. It's just my stipulation, but I think something like this is exactly what rares need. They need some type of catalyst, some turbulence. This kind of rapid trading of rares and reshuffling of them is exactly what they need to get passed their 8 months of being stagnant. They might have fallen now, but they really needed something to jolt them either up or down. Yes, panic can cause a rapid drop in price But if this drop is artificial, it will easily rise back up to normal prices, and possibly even further since the whole market was jolted. It might take a few weeks to recover but after that we might even see some normal growth again. To owners: hold your rares. There is no dupe. To potential buyers: Buy some rares while there's panic and they're cheap. -edit: Duke's not on msn - this is the best economic advice I can give. :P

February 18, 200719 yr i saw vals thread and was like, i figured some weird small item like seers ring [bleep]ed to like 1m or more, or barrows armor prices halved... never did i expect to see val talkin about his rares. but cmon, theirs no dupe, even if their is... it cant hurt the market that bad lol prices would return to the pre-weeks of the dupe within years.

Since this supply vs demand balance is off, you see a quick drop. Once people realize things are fine, this imbalance will go back to normal.

Some guy who was duel arena bug abuser had sold a load of blue phats to some ppl at 360m (i think it was that). With that happened it killed the market for blue hats and hence they went down. For some reason that caused the phats to go down in general and that website someone was talking about "stirred the soup" even more and hence created the rumor of duping. Compare the current prices to the prices a month ago... Things like that don't just happen.
