March 1, 200719 yr Ok I've read at least a dozen barrows guides and they all say that the melee brothers and Karil(ranger) should be Maged*. Than the say that Ahrim should be ranged (which i do not disagree). Ok but in every guide and picture of equipment they say bring the same thing bow and arrows. now when i think about it does a magic bow shortbow and 200 rune arrows take up more space and weight than 500 steel-rune throwing knives. the only exception to a range weapon that take less space is a crystal bow. I'm not an expert at Barrows :boohoo: i was just wondering if anyone ever thought this would be more effective. i dont know though. i know throwing knives are range weapons but do they hit like melee. *edited from Ranged :oops: stupid mistake :oops: Just Throwin It Out There only 2 skills below level 50 :)

March 1, 200719 yr Darts have more accuracy than knives (I think), so they should obviously be used. Although rune darts are kinda hard to find

March 1, 200719 yr A bow has the highest ranging bonus, and with rune arrows it causes the most damage if you spec with eagle eye on. Also, they take up the same amount of sapces because you keep the arrows in your arrow slot. I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. Some people also melee Karil, however not everyone is strong enough to do that. Hence using mage even though his armor has stronger def against mage. OT: If you mean mage, then yes, mage everyone except Ahrim, who you will range. I have never seen a barrows guide saying to range anyone but Ahrim. Personally I just use Crystal Bow. But I would suggest a magic short and rune arrows, otherwise, because the range bonus is greater. Apparently, my signature was to big.

March 1, 200719 yr Another reason to not melee ahrim: he uses spells that affect your melee stats. theyre annoying for people who barrows with veracs.

March 2, 200719 yr Bows don't weigh very much, using a bow won't slow you down at all. In fact, the high range bonus that you get from a bow will make using a bow faster than using knives.
