What's the point of bronze?

Featured Replies

i hardly ever see low level people that have never played before use bronze.. i mean wats the point.. if u can wear iron which is better and u dont need any extra stats or anything.. i think its just pointless having a thing that no1 uses.. the only people i see use it is people that have a red rare item sometimes

Bronze looks better then ever armour, but black and rune in my opinion. Also goes good with a lot of holiday things (tradeable and non tradeable)

I myself like bronze.

Some would say that Black armour is pointless because I don't see many people wearing that around f2p.

another reason is because newcomers dont have enough money to buy iron as some dont know what to do, like most of our first days, and bronze is smithable before iron so they use skills to get were they want to.

I know exactly what you mean. I went from woodcutting levels 3 - 6 using a bronze hatchet last month (i was sorta saving woodcutting till i became a member - hooray for birds nests ), and after playing for 28 months i would have expected to have known that i could have used a iron hatchet from level 1 also. I only found that out/remembered after i got to level 6 when i could use steel #-o. And imo steel is too easy to attain. Jagex shoud have set the wieldability of iron and steel at levels 10, and 20 respectively, while having the higher metals 10 levels apart also (mithril - 30, adamant - 40, rune - 50). it would tie in rather nicely with how things are at the moment with dragon at level 60, and barrows at level 70 (and then what are the other 3 types of wieldable metal going to be :-k)

Sadly, i dont have a siggy.

NO I DON'T SMOKE

oops, that'd be ciggy :D

yeah cuz newbies cant afford iron just yet and also it does look cool even though i think black is definetly the coolest looking i wish black was the best armor not rune i think rune looks dumb but iam a pure anyway so i use iron but i wish black was the best weopons a black mace is the coolest

looking actualy that was in rs classic it was the coolest looking id say a dragon b axe is the coolest now! but yeah bronze is kinda pointless but it does help with smithing and a couple other things maybe to make a few bux or to drop at drop partys or anything like that.

Shrux (Pure), Arkex (Main)

you can IM me for coal always mining with ark

or if you want to team with me IM Shrux

maybe to us now iron is a simple and cheapest armour, but when i begun playing RS it tookm me ages to get bronze full, and i could only dream about iron weapons, until one day...i gon an iron 2h... yess....good old times....

The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals.

It's true that bronze isn't practically needed in RS, because of the iron.

But it's a nice looking armour which you can combine with alot of other items to create good-looking costumes.

Bronze has lost much of its purpose, but originally, it was the only armor a new player could afford. Now we have some people that go around Lumbridge handing out full iron to new players. Well... At least one person... My friend... Good guy...

its also for level 100+'es to run around in thinking they are better then everyone else because they are wearing the worst metal armor in the game.

bronze is just something that you can wear / make / mine at lvl 1... just like clay, shrimps, normal logs, gaum leaves,

This is a dumb question; I mean: what is the point of runescape? Not everything needs to have a point.

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

All skills 80+

The point of Runescape is the point of every other game that has been invented. To have fun. You are correct that not everything has to have a point, but back in the good old days, bronze armor had its own.

if there was no bronze u would need a looooooooooooooooooooooooot of genie lamps to get smithing to 15 right?

43 sound about right? I never looked at it from this perspective, but yes, bronze is quite necessary...

Well bronze is introduced to you at tutorial island. I'm guessing it's because it teaches new players how to mine and smith, etc, without having to fail at making bars. Besides, like someone posted, it's pretty hard relatively to get to 15 smithing (without doing quests) and most new players don't even know how to get iron...

Bronze has always had a point for lower levels or newer people to the game.

i went from bronze to iron then to black never had steel. Its the first type of armor/weapons that your introduced to. but I can't really say why you haven't seen low lvls for a very long time so i really can't answer this.

Bronze is good for new players that don't have alot of money as it costs less.

Because you can make bronze before iron... This is like asking why do we have masks if we have party hats in a way.

Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....
