August 30, 200718 yr farming is harder even though i train both currently, well sure for slayer you have to be concentrated and everything but every other skill is like that so people should be used to it, also the point in playing this game is to focus on it doing whatever you want to do, not train and watch tv. Sure you run around and plant stuff then go off and do whatever, it takes hours for things to grow, and they die about 1/3 of the time ( well for me they do...) and if you want a 100% chance of succes youd have to go back and forth to every single patch to check them AND what if you forgot to go to some patches and they die or log out and not come back in time. Not to mention the money spent on seeds is alot. well slayer does use up alot of food, but with autoers and farmers food is pretty cheap compared to the older days. =/ i also have 94 fishing so im not worried about food =] also the motivation of slayer is so much more than farming, we aim to get d boots at 83 or whip at 85 or bows at 90 while at farming its like w00t i can plant stuff and collect then sell. although both are EXTREMLY hard, id have to say farming is harder not but miles but only a little. but mining is simply impossible @_@ even though lover romeo has like 150m exp!#@!%$#^
September 24, 200718 yr I thought slayer was easier because I always trained combat with slayer. I hated farming though because I thought it was the most boring skill in runescape and costly...my herblore was even higher than farming and most players say herblore is the hardest/costliest skill

September 25, 200718 yr Slayer is harder than farming. Farming is just making people watch ur crops and replant not hard. Slayer is just killing stuff but it requires attention. September 25, 200718 yr This is far too vague! First of all, these skills have tons of variables so that one person's farming/slayer experience differs from the next Slayer is a skill that depends, tremendously, on combat level. So a top cb leveled player will consider it an easier skill. Farming is unlike any other skill because stuff grows while you are logged out or doing other things. Therefore if you make money while your crops grow, you can effectively negate the entire cost. This means someone starting off with very few seeds can, assuming they have sufficient income (again this varies tremendously!), make it to 99 farming without having to halt their exp gain as opposed to other skills where you will need to interrupt your skilling to go make cash (unless you have it beforehand) Second of all, there are multiple methods to get 99. Some sacrifice speed for a lesser cost. Comparing any two random methods and then drawing a conclusion is totally irrelevent, you need to specify; which slayer method and which farming method are we debating? Third of all, the idea that somehow buyable skills are automatically easier than non buyable skills is a load of crap. Part of getting 99 in a skill is getting the money needed to fund the operation. Example: the fastest method for 99 crafting is using green dragon hides. To get these green dragonhides you must invest time and money which will vary depending on your income. Therefore, someone who has a very low income will get 99 mining faster than they would get 99 construction. It's odd that people would just assume you get the materials from the start, obviously if two skills have equal rates of exp/hr the least expensive skill will be harder. And finally, why must we debate only these two skills? Runecrafting can, arguably, be harder to get than either one of those skills. 76th to reach 99 Construction on 6th of February 2007379th to reach 99 Runecrafting on 4th of November 2007 Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! But...you have to calculate what profit you get from the skill (the cost factor) and what enjoyment you get from the skill. However, judging from what you said it would be slayer which I do agree with. Although it provides nice profit and is quite enjoyable, the amount of time it takes is extremely long in comparisson to other skills. October 17, 200718 yr Well, this depends on how you look at it. (Warning, I might get wrong information because I am an F2P.) Farming: Can be harder because of the time taken to raise it. Can be easier because of the fact that all you have to do is plant stuff, go train something else, come back, and get your experience. Slayer: Can be harder because of the possibility of bad slayer tasks, or because of the clicking. Can be easier because you can get lots of experience a day at times. So, all depends. *Please correct my post if I am wrong, but judging by all of these posts, I'm quite accurate* Corruption Council - http://corruption-clan.com/forumTeam TKO Blitz Leader - http://tko.rs-clans.comFeel free to PM me if you have any questions about Corruption or TKO Blitz.
October 20, 200718 yr I'm F2P, but I know a reasonable amount about the member's world. I say SLAYER is tougher. DUH. My BlogJoin the Campaign for more F2P Bank Space![bleep], my parrot has better grammar than you.
October 21, 200718 yr Slayer is the hardest 99 to get followed by runecrafting. Farming can't be compared because it costs money not time. tbh farming takes a set amount of time so surely thats wrong? also the arguement really goes down to what the individual player wants and likes. saying that farming ftw
October 22, 200718 yr Why did you pick slayer and farming? I would say that the hardest skill is runecrafting, mining/buying all that ess takes tons of time, not to mention the endless runs you have to do to get it all crafted. Even if you just rune laws or nats on a world for that purpose, it will still take forever and still be very difficult. On the whole however, slayer is harder. you can get 99 farming at level 3. I would like to see you do the same for 99 slayer! The faster exp gain comes from having a reasonably high slayer level, but you can get seeds pretty easy at low levels.
October 23, 200718 yr Starting at lvl 3 straight from tutorial island then farming would be hands down, harder than slayer. I eat fruits and nuts. 2376/2475 total
October 23, 200718 yr Construction is imo if your rich it's easy but for us players that struggle to get 1mil it can be difficult:(
October 24, 200718 yr farmer by miles. with slayer u can train combat at the same time. farming is just plant stuff, wait for it to grow... Goals achieved: lvl 99 Cooking, Fishing and Fletching.Surrey CC and Liverpool FC fan for life!
