March 25, 200719 yr Translations aren't always perfect =p As long as you have an IQ higher then an ape, I'm sure you could figure it out :wink:And fortunately, most of RS doesn't seem to have ability to beat a rock in rock-paper-scissors. :boohoo: I do English to Japanese and Japanese to English translation for free! Just keep it under 5 sentences, and PM me to use my fluency in Japanese to your advantage!
March 25, 200719 yr hopefully they make italian... on topic: has anyone seen people cursing in english in a way that would normally get blocked? i've been hearing about it, thought it might be a good idea to clean that up, or at least try. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
March 25, 200719 yr I've never been on a German server, but just leave the Germans be. If they want to be surrounded by English-Speaking people, then they could just go to a normal non-german world.
March 26, 200719 yr it wont let me on the servers anyway, they could have a simple question in german to let jagex know who is german and who isnt click my sig for my blog!!!Thanks everyone for the sigs they pwn!No. Why should i give presents for someone in rs?Most selfish thing I've ever heard
March 26, 200719 yr I play there sometimes. I speak a bit of German (although I am a bit rusty). I read the German, and only speak English when I don't understand or can't translate. The German players are friendly and correct my mistakes. I love it there. The "Engish Only" garbage is tiresome, though. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
March 26, 200719 yr Author Totally agreed. I respect those who try to learn the language, myself included, but Those cheeky little brats who know nothing really make me angry :( Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
March 26, 200719 yr I found the same problem. I'm taking a German course at school and figured it would be a good way to practice while having fun. But almost everyone I talked to either couldn't speak german or wouldn't talk at all. Although I found that the few players that could were very friendly and very helpful. March 26, 200719 yr IMO the life of the "German" servers will be very short as having particular servers for only a relatively small market is a waste of Jagex's precious resources. What I expect to see eventually is all servers supporting many languages for the game narratives etc. and you just select the language of your choice when you log in. The language you choose to talk to people in game is totally independent on the game's language.
March 27, 200719 yr People go to the German worlds because they don't want competition for resources. If people who didn't speak German couldn't go there, it would be very unfair because people who could speak German would have an extreme advantage, a world with 5 people in it. Eventually the German worlds will become as full as the rest of the worlds, then the people who don't speak German will go back to an English world because it's a lot easier to understand what you're reading and it would be the same amount of competition.
March 27, 200719 yr I don't really see it as a problem... i'll go onto german worlds if i want peace and quiet :) i barely know any german (only did it for one year) but it's enough for basic things. if i need to read something i'll generally play on an english server. Other european languages would be nice too...... thelo ellinika :o
