The new staff of Armadyl - In the grasp of a Mahjarrat!?

There has been a recent hidden update in the Varrock museum where the replica staff of Armadyl has been graphically updated into this:

Oh so the staff that was meant to of stabbed through both Zaros and Zamorak has finally been made to actually look like it can stab through people and looks all shiny...so what? Well this is what!! Here is an image taken from the development diary 'RuneScape vs. Real-world Trading':

Notice something about that staff that ugly guy has? Why it's the staff of Armadyl, the staff that can defeat even the Gods! It has long been speculated that this character is Lucien with the Stone of Jas! Although most Mahjarrat seem to have skulls so who knows just yet! :lol:

The actual staff from the Temple of Ikov hasn't been updated yet but with this leak in the museum it must be happening very soon!

So could it be that in the next few months, we'll get a big Mahjarrat related quest? I'm soo excited at the moment that I can't seem to think straight haha! But this could end up being quite a significant update to the game as this could affect many plot lines from quests and bring some closer together into the possibility of a new God War starting! From the gnome plotline (which seems to be linking into the Elven plotlines) it was discussed that we - the player would go North along with certain other characters to face the deceiver, could it be that this may have a link? The Mahjarrat are all returning North, could it be to give the Staff of Armadyl back into the hands of Zamorak? Could it be required in a ritual to revive the Empty Lord - Zaros? Could someone else be after the powers of a God? This could be quite a biggy!

What are your thoughts on this?

If they make more quests and whatnot like that, that'd be nice. Those plotlines are intresting. Maybe we could even get more ancient magicks spells. And anything to do with Armadyl would be nice. There is very little information about him so far.

And anything that could maybe bring more aviansies around would be nice, those birds rule :

I just checked the diary that picture is from, they said it's for an idea they're hoping to release this year, so you might be right.

References to the Mahjarrat are all over quests, this one probably does hint at a future one.

Looks great, anyway. Hopefully we'll be able to get the staff one day.

That would be great! Ancient magicks came out over three years ago I believe. (Is that when Desert Treasure was released? April '05?) If it was updated, I wonder what kind of spells we would get? More combat spells? There wouldn't be any skill related spells since it is a combat spellbook and we have Lunar Magic for skills anyways.

If your speculation is correct, this is very exciting. I love all the quests that have storylines that need finishing up. :mrgreen:

After about 10 minutes I felt like I saw it before and hunted for that concept art then had a little rush of excitement :thumbsup:

:shock: I also thought the staff looked like something i had seen before but i couldnt set my finger on it.

Now that the graphic update is coming next month, maybe they will update the takeable staff with it?

And about all the mahjarrat having skulls, has anyone ever seen luciens face? :lol:

This looks like an oppurtunity to give magic a good update...say a spell that hits up to 50 and a special attack.

The end of Path of Glouphrie quest get a conversation that said something about a confrontation with the Mahjarrat! I would like to see the conversation(I remember it being posted here somewhere...) again to get a better idea of the quest!

EDIT: I just searched youtube and found a vid of it!

A storyline about the return of zaros would be great. But don't feed that hope too much, we're probably going to get disappointed either way.

Obviously Jagex doesn't have the best grammar. It's funny, you'd think this wouldn't get by them, I saw it the first time I read the message.

I see Khazard as more of a brute force sort of guy, it could be, could not be. :lol:

It could be anyone at the moment, but it would be very interesting if this Mahjarrat does have the Stone of Jas aswell! It means we could be up against quite a powerhouse!
