God book pages, animal masks???? Whats happened!

I looked in the forums earlier, and what the hell?!

People are offering 3M a Zammy PAGE in junk trading??

And with animal masks, i don't know. What I've heard, there in the double figure millions. I don't see whats so good about a mask? There obtained from TT but... seem to be worth a Godsword for a set :S

Can somebody explain why all these items are ridiculously high as forum price?

They're rare for one thing, the pages that is. I haven't had one in ages and they used to be common as muck. The prices on the animal masks is "wrong" on the GE, so essentially people can charge whatever they like for them.

Because merchants are greedy and will scam people out of their cash on any item they can.

The masks because they are new items.

The pages because PKing is coming back, and pures will want to fill their books.

Thats the roguh estimate i have found in ALOT ov topics. I got wrong with a aniaml set is a godsword, its more like 2 godsword's....

Doesn't this make more people want to do clues and hoping for a mask/page??

Atm, it seems that people wuld be more happy getting a mask than a Third Age item....

I never go by Forum prices. They over charge waaaay too much. I also buy things in the GE. I even bought a Blood and Death Talisman in it!

Saradomin pages used to be basically junk and trash. Sara pages went for 15k sometimes... The pages were about a 1/3 chance youd get one in a clue, s they were cheap as heck. Back when Jagex released tha Animal masks, they nerfed the rate of getting pages. Now it's equivilent to a Robin I believe in drop rate. Thank God I filled all three books back when Zammy pages were 125k ea.

If you put an offer for max for 3rd age, or animal mask right after a market update you have a great chance to get it in the GE.

If you upt an offer any time, you can get the mask in like 2 weeks.

There really is no point paying 40m when you can pay 400k.

There really is no point paying 40m when you can pay 400k.

It used to be like that, apart from the ''great chance'' part. Now prices update every day and only around 10 first to put the offer in get one, so missing the price update by more than 20 seconds results in you certainly not getting the mask.

Why are the mask prices so high? Because the demand exceeds the supply by so much. Also if you consider the junk trade prices, you have to consider the fact that junk costs money too.

Why are page prices so high? Because economy uses them up faster than they produce them. Since the new tt updates, pages are much rarer to come by and this has resulted in the price-rise.

i dont see it as that bad because its easy to sell junk. you may be paying the 2m ge price but the 40m junk can be used when you want to sell some stuff and up the price

Same. Zammy book was ~375k, Guthix was~200k, and Sara cost me less than 60k.

this might be a dumb question.. but i don't really understand how people can offer over the price limit of G.E... and what does jun ktrades have to do with it >.<?

can someone explain? then i'll be into this topic too :D

I got my zammy book for free :lol: back around the release of the book, a friend bought about 5 sets of pages thinking the more you put in the higher the bonuses you got :wall: so he gave me a set for free because I was just so awesome back then (and not because I gave him 1 mil seed money to start merching like nuts)

And also, I know the general idea behind junk trading- gratuitious amounts of overpriced but easy to get items to push the price up without much loss to you besides manufacturing cost of said junk.

I've been gone from members so I'm out of the loop on what is actually used as junk now- could someone give a general idea on what they do to bump the trade price from 400k- 40+ mil? last i remember people were using unstrung addy c-bows.

i paid 1m for my zammy book then they wentdown when the ge came out to like 500k for a zammy

paid 600k for sara

paid 400k for guthix

i am buying guthix pages atm to merch. but dont think bad because i dont have junk i just want to get to where i can get a sheep mask w/o paying 25m

wow i remember zam pages being 200k each before G/E and trade limit came out, should of bought so many :wall: :wall:

and too bad theres no option to remove pages from a book, cuz i have some #-o

I sell cat 35, bat 20, and penquin 25..

They're high priced because they're harder to get then the ge has them for.

Supply and demand is over what it is worth in the ge so people use the streets to get more for it.

Personally I've seen a massive fall in the amount of God Pages obtained during clues, and I'm thankful I bought mine when they were 300k for a Zammy set. As for the Animal masks, I'm not too sure, I've only ever seen like 3 - and I can't stand the look of them! But then, if there's demand, with little supply - the price goes up :

The principal being "hard to come by items" and "supply and demand". I didn't mean they are literally discontinued items lol.

Wish Jagex could do something about this whole overpriced thing, what we need is representation in Jagex, no updates without representation, lets throw god pages into the bay, tar mods, and start a war!!! (Been watching to much John Adams, :ugeek: :roll:)

Its all greedy greedy junk traders (not merchants). Merchants have been given a bad rep because of the junk traders. Merchants are the people back on w2 who would sell and buy for competetive prices, but not monopoloise certain market items. Nowdays though groups of junk traders started of this phenomina of people asking rediculus amounts for items, way above their prices. I wont rant anymore i explained all my views in a thread a little while back.
