Im not very official by the looks of it, i just chose a world entirely at random.

I can't believe there hasn't already been a sticky topic about "official worlds".

If something like that could be run on the RS forums, as well as on fan site forums (i.e. Here :) ) we could probably see a greater variety of better advertised official worlds.

I don't believe that Jagex would ever declare certain worlds offical. Futhermore, I dislike the idea of offical worlds due to the difficulty of getting in them. I find myself refreshing the world select option just to attempt to get into world 2 and when i do and try to log it tells me the worlds full.

I seem to have heard that the rune-running worlds came about due to some large "businesses" that formed there. Very effective. Would like to see a Nature running world, though, lol.

If there was one for each group activity or minigame, that would certainly bring more people together to pursue it (like Burthorpe Gameroom or Rat Pits, for example).

high level only worlds would be freaky

worlds can only be so called ""official"" from what the majority of players go with, it comes by chance. No-one says "this world is for that" It just starts and it catches on.

its a good idea i hadnt thought about it before, but it would cause problems in the wilderness if there were combat requirements for a world, as the author said

The official worlds for combat would be kind of sketchy, think of all the skillers! The only way I see it working would be for non-combat skills, because anyone could have 70wc, but only people with a certain str/att/range, etc. could get into the combat worlds.

But anyway interesting article.

Then again, Jagex could do it just to make me wrong now. But that said, doing it to make me wrong would make me right about them doing it to make me wrong, so IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d still be right, right?

never knew about the pest control world, have to try that out

mnaybe you should make a sticky about official worlds, which worlds are used for what, that way we know what world to go on to do what

Pretty official, except I am one of the few that takes time ot get into worlds like 2 for the sole purpose of training.

oh, world 2 is also official shades of mort'ton temple building world as well.

World 36 is VA's (Virginia, Usa) Official world, my friend Rey, Twiggy, Josh, Sal, Bruer :D Official world 8-)

From the examples given by the editor, I'm 5/7 official. :wink:

World 78 is my world. Not for Pest Control, but it's my clan's homeworld. ;)
