When will the fish mask be worth over 10m coins?
Deletion replied to Blaze The Movie Fan's topic in Help and Advice
Same can be said for every holiday untradeable ever. What would be your solution? -
Umm? That's incorrect. You don't have to cut your own logs to make money. But that's irrelevant anyway. OP, its best to fletch broad arrows and make money elsewhere. That isn't true depending on income. Turning unfinished broad bolts into broad bolts is more efficient up until ~2m/hr.

No Cow, you're right. Assuming infinite starting capital (and I suppose infinite time) the Martingale betting system (doubling each successive bet to recoup loses and win a profit of the original bet) will work. However the problem is that nobody possesses infinite wealth, and the exponential growth of the bets quickly bankrupt those on an unlucky streak (for example starting with a 1m bet, it only takes 10 losses to be 512m, and 11 to be over 1b - all for a 1m profit). I believe chenw's post was directed at the "if you follow flower games, people do get 10+ streaks, and if you see this you should start your betting on them" portion of top 25's post. Which is the Gambler's fallacy - that repeated independent trials that deviate away from the expected behaviour cause future deviations in the opposite direction (throwing multiple heads means the next throw is more likely than 50/50 to be a tail).

It's really up to you, it WILL speed up your training by a percent or two but in my personal opinion I would wait till the price of Saradomins Whisper stabilize before I purchased one. When you are able to you should sell your Bandos to get extremes as they increase your DPS by much more than Bandos.

this entire argument is conjecture: - Jagex mentioned they were preparing evidence for taking goldsellers to court. But they don't mention if the legal action will be against the websites, and those that run them, or the individuals that supply the gold to these websites. - Since no precedent has been set; you don't know if RWT would be deemed illegal or not. Hence; - You don't know if the income has been declared or not. Can't you just leave it at: Because no precedent has been set for RWTing these RWTers may or may not be declaring their income and paying tax on it, and hence may or may not face penalties related to tax fraud and money laundering. Jagex may or may not be preparing to take these RWTers to court.

Firstly; you got given the most efficient answer. Grimys spreadsheets allow you to input your income and find the most efficient method for that income. It requires a bit of thought from you. But is the best way as it allows personalisation of what method you use. Secondly; you didn't put nearly enough information in your post for people to tailor-make a response like you want. The best response for the information you gave, which is minimal, was given to you - use Grimys spreadsheets to figure out what is best for your particular needs. Thirdly; to answer your question. Yes it can be done for under 100m, and the 'best' method for you is dependent on your income, preference of skilling compared to money making, definition and requirement for fun, and desire for afkability.

^ Should mention that you're swapping the Tassets out for Verac Plateskirt. In which case you don't lose any defence (difference is negligible) at all and are basically trading 2+ for each melee attack bonus and 1+ prayer for 2+ strength.

I have been waiting for this since they released EoC. Seems to make much more sense to me. I guess this would only apply to spells (since ideally the DPS of all other classes should be equal within the same tier) but it would be interesting to see, if they did this update, whether using the correct, but weaker spell, or using a stronger, non-correct spell would provide more DPS.

^ Especially because he still has wc to max too. Makes C2 skilling even more efficient.

Pretty much this. My net isn't the best some times, and makes it hard to enjoy most of the truly fun things left on Runescape due to it. As fun as this sounds, without some kind of safety net for stuff out of your control it would just become aggrevating. Don't play it then. He's suggesting it as a separate game from the real thing, not as a replacement.

Using a regular set up, and praying Piety (constantly) you will use around 20 prayer potions and hour. A cost of ~60k. Piety will increase your kill speed by ~25%. Therefore, you need to value your time at less than 240k/hour for Piety to not be worth using. Obviously this is a simplification and Piety won't actually speed up your task by 25%. But even at a 5% increase (Piety will increase task speed more than this) you only need to value your time at 1.2m/hour for Piety to be worth it.

The methods are not the fastest, not the most efficient, and/or outdated.

Which takes time, and hence will decrease (or eradication) his advantage. Hence it's listed as a factor in determining who will be second to 200m all skills.

I'm not disagreeing with with anything you said in that second post. I was more implying that your analogy from the first post was flawed in the context you were using it in. As for your question: I agree that it should be viewed as a whole, and someone who was equal to Suomi in dedication (overall time input), consistency, and efficiency, except made their own money, you could argue is a greater achievement (although if Suomi did it first, that argument also has merits). But in the argument of who is the greatest player of all time: in my opinion, everyone values different attributes differently, and therefore it is very hard to compare different achievements, and therefore hard to unequivocally say who is the greatest player of all time. Hence there are many players that could be considered amongst the greatest.
-
Obviously the first is the bigger achievement, in that regard. However, that analogy is completely flawed assuming you're talking about who is the 'best' runescape player. In your post, making $1B is the end goal. So it would be more appropriately compared to: Which is a bigger achievement - Inheriting a maxed account, or maxing an account yourself? A more appropriate, but similar analogy, would be doing something great with the $1B. Where making money isn't the overall goal, and instead a means to an end. Obviously, assuming everything else is equal, the person that had to make their own money could be said to have the greater achievement assuming they both reach the goal in a similar fashion. However, if the person who inherited the money achieved that goal faster (excluding time making money), more efficiently, and with greater dedication; I would argue that is the better achievement - assuming the money making is only a small portion of the overall achievement.
-
Depends on your goals, but from what you have described summoning is best.

what should I use mad necklace and promissory note(s) on?
Deletion replied to brad1431's topic in Help and Advice
He said he's not going to put it into agility as he never plans on attempting to max, and therefore it's wasted xp. So, in my opinion, this thread is completely pointless as the he's already made up his mind and wants confirmation of his choice by putting restrictions in place so others come up with the same choice as him. He should do whatever he wants. -
Yes, the hosts that were banned were selling the gp they were making for rl cash.

That was entertaining and unexpected rage. If you ask for advice then please state your constraints (unwillingness to get money/unwillingness to train stats/unwillingness to get untradeables) otherwise people are just going to give you the generic best gear.
-
Efficiency is related to your goals, I don't really understand why this is hard to grasp. Efficiency is the most efficient way to reach your goal. There's no point collecting charms through Slayer if your goal is Summoning, just like there's no point in Suomi getting the requirements for the trimmed completionest cape if his goal is 200m all skills with the lowest ranks in each skill possible.

To be honest. At the moment we have no idea how this update will effect different kinds of pures, I imagine Zerkers are going to still be amazing. Secondly; there's more to Runescape than combat, so it won't be like "EVERY other MMORPG on the internet". Lastly; StarCraft is not even in the same genre so I don't see how that's relevant.

What really happened regarding the GP dupe - 80B/HR

If they managed to move all the gold before being banned. For how fast the method was, they don't have much left. -
In summary from the above two post, and my own experience: - Are you using Gano, protect from Range and a magic crystal when you reach Hakaan? - Are you staying out of melee zone? - Are you using SoA to speed up the kill? - Flashing soulsplit and a unicorn are both extremely useful for the boss. - An Ely isn't all that useful. I'm 85 Defence and killed it with ease both times I have done it.

Hood vs Body is a matter of preference in my opinion. However, when used correctly it is generally regarded that primal and prom plates are better than a hood. However, we don't know how useful every bind will be in EoC so I would keep the relatively rare hood over the plate and bind a prom 2h.

Herb runs + dailies while training other stats (if you plan to max eventually; if you just want money you could try grenwalls?).
