  1. Hi, So, I've finally decided to raise my defence from 75 to 85 and I've decided to do it using the Chaos Tunnel Waterfiends (unless somebody has a better idea?) to collect some of the charms I need to go from 96 to 99 Summoning. I've been doing it the following way: -Full melee void (deflector) -Fury -Berserker (i) -Goliath Gloves -Soulwars Cape -Dragon Boots What I've been doing is taking an hours worth of Overloads and Renewals + 2 Iron Titan pouches (One always seems to die after ~35-40 minutes) + scrolls and enough Prayer potions to last the hour while SS + Turmoiling the whole time. Currently this has been getting me around 120k Defence xp/hr and 150-175 Crimson charms. So what I want to know is, is there anything I can do to speed this up? I mean it seems like I'm getting a reasonable rate but this was on my part just a guess at a good method to get both defence and summoning experience. I also guessed this method of killing the Waterfiends. So firstly, is this a good method for gathering charms + getting defence experience? and secondly, if this is a good method is there anything I can do to increase my xp/hr? Thanks for your time and advice :)
  2. Don't get me wrong, I completely agree that smithing needs an overhaul. But I don't think adding additional higher-tiered equipment, using the current smithing system (ore->bar->equipment), is the right way to go about it. This would require a major re-balance of equipment stats (surely if Rune requires 40 smithing then the equipment that is smithed at 99 must have seriously amazing stats hence render current end-game gear useless) but still render smithing, in the long-run, unprofitable (so many people are high-level smithing that there wouldn't be demand for long for these items, and if they were rare it would be on the mining, and not the smithing, end that was profitable). What a smithing rehaul needs to do is give smithing a use, not make it profitable. Also, I don't know where you've been, but Rune smithing hasn't made profit in a long time.
  3. Smithing's days of being a major trade skill stopped many many years ago. It's now pretty much completely pointless as the raw materials it requires are much more expensive than the overall products, if anything an update like this would further increase this price difference as the market would be saturated with these products produced by these low-level smithers and the demand for the raw materials would increase.
  4. I don't want to discuss what would happen to the price of Rune items if this update took place. But your example of smithing a Rune Dagger from a Rune Bar you got as a drop is, for lack of a better word, silly. Instead of smithing it you could sell the Rune Bar for ~3x the price of the Dagger. To the original post: I'm in two minds about this potential update. It would make smithing more in-line with the level at which you can wield said item, but it would also make smithing saturated at the low-levels and then offer no benefit at all getting above 50. If I was going to make this update, I would potentially add non-tradeable benefits to having high smithing, eg at 99 Smithing you can smith a 'flawless' Rune Plate which could offer added defensive and attack (less hindrance on movement) bonuses or a new ability (depending on the mechanics of the combat update).
  5. I suppose this is rather obvious. But shouldn't you have noticed if your account already had a subscription when you first logged in after recovering it? Also that your bank and stats had changed if this is true?
  6. Are people still harping on about this? Get over your nostalgia and let the game progress.
  7. I assume you mean replacements for petroleum (crude oil) based products? There is a lot of research and work going into this at the moment as it is seen as more renewable then the petroleum counter-parts. I hate giving Wikipedia links but this sums up, the non-fuel products of petroleum, quite nicely.
  8. I have 5 as well. Around 15 spins used thus far. 5 barrels, and no other monkey items. I want one of the hats!
  9. I'm pretty sure if Green098 played efficiently she would have enough play hours to be 200m all skills.
  10. It requires the 'Dwarf Cannon' quest to use. You can use it for Slayer, that's primarily what it's used for now and will give you ranged xp, 2 xp for every 10 damage, and Slayer xp, the usual amount when the Monster dies. You will get all Monster drops with it as if you had been killing the Monsters by hand, unless you don't deal over half the damage. It attacks all the Monsters it can see (in a multi-zone), or just the Monster you are attacking in a single-zone. It can't be brought into some special areas with the most relevant for slayer being; Chaos Tunnels, Slayer Tower, Kuradel's Dungeon and the Fremennik Slayer Dungeon.
  11. I'm thinking they might just put the bonus points straight into your overall count, rather than what you're holding in your inventory. This would stop point hoarding before the weekend and not remove additional points for travelling.
  12. That's also one of the reasons I don't train summoning because I don't want help from anyone. ...wut? This is also the guy who still uses a D Baxe because he thinks Whips are silly, and trains thieving by pickpocketing. I wouldn't try to understand him.
  13. He said that people said it was a possibility. That is COMPLETELY different than plain saying "Oh hey, I'm sure was the Super Mods who did it lol, they sold your IP." Whiles yes, I believe the TIF staff are honest to their word and I respect them for that, as half the people here would jump at the free 100M or $30. But people were just saying it was a possibility that corrupted TIF admins might've caused it. People need to open their minds a little. The guy they are referring to said "In your case most likely situations are corrupted tif mods, and imageshack or any other picture host service". He listed two things and said that it is likely one of those two things was responsible for the IP leak. That, to me, means he thinks both things are likely causes of said leak and more than possibilities. Nowhere in my post did I say "He said it WAS the Super Mods who did it!!!1". I think it's you who needs to open your mind.
  14. I don't even know what Stone's argument is. Stone said that nobody said it was a likelihood the leak came from the Admin Staff, Jonan showed a full quote of somebody stating that it was likely it came from the Admin Staff. Stone said Jonan is missing the point? I'm a little confused as to what Stone's point is now.
  15. If I log in and get my daily spins, but don't use them, do they stack with the next days ones (ie will I have 6 spins to use?)
  16. Can somebody please eloborate on what the current best method is maximising xp/hr? (I don't mind if it is less afk than some other methods)
  17. Except when they save less than 5 minutes. Yep, I feel like that's what the OP is asking.
  18. That's exactly the reason, yep :)
  19. That's beside the point. The original question was will he make it into the top 15. His play-style won't allow this as he has shown no ability to grind out slow and non-afk skills. He can play how ever he wants, but he's not going to make it into the top 15 and is 'shit' compared to most of the top 15.
  20. Ok, again you miss the point. The point was also never that it was a huge deal. It was that Jagex should have done it from the start, since it was so blatantly obvious to anyone who actually DG's that is was needed. I've understood it perfectly well, but to make you happy: There are worse things to happen than Jagex not implementing something that should have been obvious. Is that better? *facepalm* OBVIOUSLY there are worse things, like bots. That's a terrible defense of anything though. "Honestly it was only kidnap, not like I murdered anyone" "Honestly it was only cheating, not like I stole" etc etc ad infitum. I'd argue there is actually very little worse mistakes to make then one like this. It means Jagex devs are completely out of the loop as to how players play the game if no one thought "hey why don't we make this easy to see quickly..." It seems to me like you're arguing a different point to Kimberly. You're arguing that the Key HUD should have been there from the moment of the update, which is true. Kimberly was arguing (unless I, like everybody else has misinterpreted the post) that a map HUD should always have been there, and she shouldn't have to use 3rd party software to do it. It was a poorly constructed argument and seemed to indicate that Jagex should have taken into account Stev's map application before placing the key HUD where is it?
  21. It's not that nobody cares. Nobody is commenting due to a combination of the fact that this forum is not really much of a pking forum, pking (and clans) have become less prevalent in Runescape, and that this topic does not have much discussion value.
  22. Using Super Prayers is not worth it. I would also suggest doing The Branches of Darkmeyer quest which gives you access to Drakan's Medallion. This offers unlimited (from within Morytania) to Barrows, and South of the Burgh de Rott Bank, as well as other places making banking and getting to Barrows much easier (Saves having to walk back to your Ladder).
  23. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I doubt the extra 5% damage boost and +1 to Magic Attack of the Chaotic Staff will save more runes than the 12.5% saved by the SoL.
  24. Hex is right. Apart from God Books and the Eagle-Eye Kiteshield there are no shield slot items that offer a ranged attack bonus. I would just use your damaged unholy book for the prayer bonus.
