  1. As a 99 smith I'm not complaining. That furnace dosen't only increase my profits per rune bar i smith there but it's also waaaay faster than the regular "running back and forth with 3 ores per trip". If jagex were to move a bank close to the furnace, rune smiths like me would have a rather easy money making methood made even easier. I could smelth rune faster which would lead to the fact that I'd finish smithing sooner & alching my rune legs (12.8k per bar on average). So, in general, I would be able to restart the smelthing process sooner and gain more cash faster. I'm rather sure a update like that wouldn't be good though. Rune sets are practically becoming cheaper than the materials needed for the sets(thanks to clues and such). I myself choose to rather alch the dang rune than waste my time on selling it for a additional 300gp per bar spent to ppl that would do anything to lower the price or get it for free because I'm supposedly creating rune out of thin air. It would be handy for players that smelth most other types of metals though, since it's 26-28 bars in a single trip (and each trip is a minute at most if you know what you are doing -> only takes 1 person to operate the furnace) but it would lead to a lower price on most types of bars... Iron dosen't need rings of forging at the blast furnace, materials for steel would cost less than 300gp per bar (1 coal, 1 iron) and mith and addy would also take a hit. With lower prices on bars, more ppl would smith to gain smithing abilities or get their total up. Smithable armours, arrows, darts, knifes and such would become cheaper and smithing would turn into something like fletching... A skill that brings in profits from alching at low levels. Since bars would go down and more ppl would smith, more ppl would need to mine to keep up (higher ore prices to counter the low bar prices to start with), but as always merchants will lower the price slowly. Of course, this is merely the words of a crazy smith who loves smithing so much that he wouldn't want it changed in any way what so ever =P~ Back on topic. I thought stuff like poh's, skill capes and some of the minigames were all ideas from rs players :-k Jagex does listen to the masses, you just have to know where to look (the suggestion section of the rs forums are STUFFED with ideas for jagex to impliment in future updates)
  2. - What member skills do you think will count the most in F2P? (Most benefits) Agility can be used on f2p servers, so I'll go for agility. - What skills do you think get the most money? Runecrafting (or mining/smithing in the higher levels if you'd bother with them) - Are pures really awesome? Rolling Eyes Waste of time imo - When is the best time to become a member? 80 cb, 800+ total - Where is your favourite place to train Ecto bank - Favourite Skill? Smithing by far :D
  3. Since there was no "tut island" when I started, my friend guided me threw the game to start with. It was a mistake to trust him, since he practically used me as a slave (sold me armour and stuff OVERPRICED like hell). Anyways, for a loooong time I didn't have a clue on how to train prayer. It was the only skill (besides carpentry) that I just couldn't find out how to train. Wasted alot of time at the monastery looking for clues on how to train the dang skill #-o After almost a year of playing I finally found out how to train the skill by accident :D Started killing chickens at the champs gulid with a crossbow and went for 50 prayer there
  4. Skill training ftw.. Just pick a skill and find a way to profit from it... :-k I gained cash off smithing, fletching, cooking (random events -> 200 mazes -> before cook-x was released), mining, woodcutting, farming, herblore, thieving and a few combat related things like a occational king dagannoth trip or a barrow trip (rare in my case). Most ppl waste their lifes with merchanting though.... *edit* combat level has nothing to do with ones wealth. The player could have a high total level or be a good merchant/staker/pker
  5. Lol, that's what I'm afraid of. I'm gonna try and keep faith that he'll return but >_<, chances aren't looking so good now. soo.. at the 14th day, could you reveal who won even though the prize guy dosen't turn up? :-k If all else fails you could give the winner a huge amount of beers? (not really asking for rewards for the winners, just curious who won/would have won  )
  6. 8 days and counting =D> Are you guys 100% sure that he (the prize guy) didn't just ditch you and that he's online at this very moment laughing at us? :
  7. Would still be owned by a team of pkers quite fast.. Rune rocks are not multi.. But I hate both of 'em.. :wall: They are...^^ Nope, the area around the rocks is mostly multi, but while mining the rocks themselves you are in single combat zone
  8. As a rune miner myself I don't mind the pker's at all. I've once been killed there and been attacked hundreds of times. It's not unless a team of ancient mages + melee manage to successfully freeze me in the multi zones around the rocks that I get killed. The thing is, that it's easy to run away (kbd cave not far away = tele zone) and the pkers are usually at the same experience level as the rc pkers. And the rune miners aren't as defenceless as the rcers since we can actually take some armour, food and weapons with us to mine and don't loose untradeable stuff like poutches if we die. Overall, rc pkers and rune pkers are the same in my eyes, they just don't succeed as much when it comes to the rune miners. rune miners spend more time on training to be able to even start. 85 mining isn't something everyone would bother with when they can start rc'ing almost instantly. Since there are less rune miners and they tend to be more experienced (less noobs who cry about loosing items), there are next to none hate topics on rune pkers.
  9. You must be really confident or mad to bring a santa hat with a d-set (so the santa won't protect over anything) out that far into the wilderness :D
  10. Isn't that in a entirely diffrent mountain though? It's below the white wolf mountain, right? This is in the mountains by ardougne :-k
  11. I'd say rc... Merely because it's the most boring skill in game and I wouldn't have to train it ever again =D>
  12. wakkas guide? what guide? :-k Anyways, it seems as if this platform heads towards the elfen lands. Maybe we'll gain access to that city after all? Ahh, so many questions but no answares to find :ohnoes: *edit(found wakkas guide)* Argh, so that's why it got so crowded there all of a sudden #-o I've been mining here since 2 days after the release of me:p2 and it's been fairly easy to get the rune till now #-o
  13. Well, I was mining at the rune rock by the temple of light (me:p2) when I found this: There were more of those around, but it was hard to take pics of them so I settled with this one. I'm just wondering if this could be a part of me:p3? Another underground maze of some sort? What would a platform be doing in the middle of a mountain anyways? Anyways, discuss :D
  14. As a 99 smith I'll have to say that I don't really bother with armours at all. If I have any armour at all it's rune legs that ALL go to my alch pile anyways :D
  15. So... All rs players are just your imagination? I'm pretty sure that there are real persons behind some computer screens controlling them :o Anyways.. I make cash by mining mostly, although most of the skilling I do does get me some cash :-k
  16. I just love ppl who say 6+ years when rs was released in january 2001 Last I checked, it's still the year 2006, so you can't have played 6+ years no matter who you are :P (you may have played for close to 6 years though :-k )
  17. 2 drops in 5 years of playing... it's just so sad how rare thease drops really are (or maybe I've just been skilling too much  )
  18. Come to think of it, I also have the habit of checking out the name and level off EVERY player I pass by (unless it's a huge group and I'm in a hurry) I dunno why... I just keep passing the same ppl over and over again (w42 ftw) :-w
  19. I know this isn't quite "inexperienced players", but sadly a month ago or so I met a level 120+ who didn't know what a scythe was (I was weilding one & he asked me wtf it were). I've also met ALOT of ppl who have wanted to buy my scythe (second untradeable holiday item ever released ftw) Quite a few have asked me what my "anvil" level is... I also get alot of "Can I have 10 free rune sets plz? PLZ!! PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!! PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! It's not like they cost you anything.. P L Z!"
  20. Best: Jagex released the skill capes Worst: Noobs found out that the capes had emotes and thus, emote beggers were born.
  21. I agree with you on some parts. I myself got 99 fletching and cooking even before the x options were released (fletch-x was released in '04? and cook-x even later) yet ppl think of my achevements as pretty "easy" things to do. It's the same thing with smithing... Most ppl expect me to have gained my level off gold smelthing when I actually bought 250k ores off a level 3 (yes, he wasn't ranked...), smelthed the ores and smithed iron knifes. (rest of the xp was mostly smithing jobs that my friends supplied) Even though smithing is a admirable cape, it still bugs me that ppl expect you to train with the most expencive and best "xp per hour" you can get and not thinking of the fact that maybe those methoods weren't around when the player actually got the level (or the player just couldn't afford the fast and expencive way :-w ). I don't think any cape should deserve the title of not beeing admirable... even though there are 1000+ capes out there of the same skill, there are still millions of ppl out there without one :D
  22. Can't wait to see what the actual reward is :P Please let it be mountains of beer! PLEASE! :D Oh, and thanks for the comment Bayern :D
  23. I guess it would be yanille / my house. I use the yanille anvils alot and the bank.. and it's the town where my house is located which I've been using alot lately for training prayer and such :D
