my bank eh? Most call me crazy, but yea, my bank is 45% beer, 45% tools, 3% rune and 7% wool. Here's a example pic of the 3rd page of my bank:

Guess I'd be a corpse... Interesting... :|

actualy they usualy buy mith bars make mith plates and then alch Still a big loss of money compared to gold smelting just for faster exp. In fact you lose more cash this method than gold smelting, even for steel smithing you lose less money usualy people who want (and can afford!) high level smithing of 95+ prefer speed over cost and will be willing to pay more to gain their smithing level faster :XD: I'm one of the noobs who went for 99 smithing with iron ores, smelthed and smithed into iron knifes for pure profits :-k Anyways, as a 99 smith, I prefer to stay away from crowded areas and usually spend my time down in keldagrim brewing beer to add to my collection or at the blast furnace... God bless big Bertha  Crowd + smithing cape = long hours of doing the longest emote rs has to offer Might be a good idea for sub 99's though (80 - 98 smith)

Dunno why, but I'm having trouble on the tuber part. The thing is, I got the tuber and the gems and trading sticks, but the guy at the anvil who makes the machetes won't give me a deal and keeps pointing at the starting guy, which I've already talked to and used all available chat options with. I'm at 100% favour, yet I can't cash in or chop the mahog trees (get a message that I must help the village first in order to chop the tree). I've completed all quests, so that's not the problem... I'm at 100% favour, so that shouldn't be the problem either... I got all the stuff I need for the trade... What in the world could possibly have gone wrong? It's just frustrating to have wasted a hour and a half getting goat tuber and not beeing able to use it for the machete which was the goal in the first place :wall:

Official : RS, 2nd Biggest MMPORG In World
Dead_Dude4 replied to Harrington's topic in General Discussion
rs could very well reach the top spot merely because it's a easy to access game and it dosen't need the player to be a member for the player to actually play the game unlike wow. Low graphics + easy access + fun game = profits -
Update on my pic after almost a year :P Apperantly my wool has populated quite a bit since then  Got to love shearing those sheep =P~ oh, and I plan on reaching 1k+ all beers in 3 - 4 years if possible :-k

Even if a high level can make money faster... what is there to say that the high level spends his time actually gathering the money? I never spend any time on money making... I get everything I got threw skilling and I've always played the game that way. I'm 1918 total and barely have enough stuff to scrap up to a 10m net value bank. 99 prayer and smithing sure has lowered my bank value though  I would be interested in seeing a way to calculate how much a character would be worth based on the costs of getting all the levels (or xp, since it would be more accurate) on the character and a rough calculation for how much cash a player could theoratically have gotten by gathering cash instead of training the skill that they trained (like agility could be calculated based on how much time you spend getting the level you got and how much cash you could have gotten if you had rc'ed or something like that instead). :-k

13 March 2007 - Burgh de Rott Ramble
Dead_Dude4 replied to TheEvilGizm0's topic in General Discussion
5% xp boost would mean that you'd have to chop about 12,4m worth of xp to acheve 99 woodcutting... that's 650k xp worth of logs that you would never have to chop but would still get xp for. I'm pretty sure that getting the clothes takes alot less time than it takes you to chop 650k xp worth of logs so I would say that the clothes are well worth it even though the xp boost may seem low. It would be nice to find out what the actual bonus is (full set) for the real calculations :) -
Nice one Jagex-Quote DIRECTLY from Andrew
Dead_Dude4 replied to Coandca5's topic in General Discussion
I don't see why it's a problem at all :-k -
99 fletching - It was a rather profitable skill at the time... reached 99 late '03 (before the x-option...) 99 cooking - This was also rather profitable at the time (due to frequient random events which were mostly mazes)... acheved a bit before the cook-x option was released '04 99 smithing - I wanted something that was certain that wouldn't get a x option just as soon as I acheved it and smithing is a OWNAGE skill :) Acheved late '05 99 prayer - Started on this skill shortly after skill capes were released and did it merely for the cape... acheved late '06 92 magic - Mostly gotten this up with random alching, enchanting and farming (yes... I use lunars alot while farming) over the years.

what level were you when you first became a member?
Dead_Dude4 replied to ganon95's topic in General Discussion
cb lvl 87 It was 3 YEARS ago though :) -
Over the years, accomplishments in rs become less and less significant to oldies like me. At first, it was the level ups that kept me in the game.. To acheve a certain level and gain a new ability by doing so. Now, most of my stats are close or above the highest possible item I can make with that skill, so the fun in leveling that certain skill decreases. Of course, the skill capes is something to look forward to, but there are no "real" abilities you gain by getting them. I myself am moving more towards achevements concerning hard to get items than can't be bought (yes, buying a rare like a p-hat or santa is not a achevement imo... Just a waste of cash to buy a mere paper hat that has no real use what so ever) like chompy hats, c-wars armours, monster heads, big fish (actually, I got 1 of ea fish now... big shark, swordfish and bass) and even stuff like champion scrolls (only got a imp one so far). I also do alot of collecting random items like beers, oysters, tools, caskets, beeds, hats, ashes, random event clothing and many other weird items like that. About half of my bank is solely items that I collect in my free time. It's a huge achevement to me to get 1k of each tool in game (hammer, rake, harpoon... whatever you can think of) and it keeps me playing. Wealth has no meaning in a game when you can't enjoy the game itself.

Tree roots, why are they even an item?
Dead_Dude4 replied to dudeonthenet's topic in General Discussion
oak roots - brewing "axeman's folly" which increases your wc when drunk(I collect them :P), supercompost willow - supercompost (willow branches are used for baskets, not the roots) maple - supercompost yew - anti potions(+), supercompost magic - nature ammies, anti potions(++), supercomost All types of roots do have a use... Although there aren't many who know of them or make use of them -
erm, if you have played as long as you claim, you have seen a autoer. RSC was full of them. Everywhere. Out of the top 50, more than 20 was autoing or rule breaking, TKS, number one rs player over a long period of time, autoing. 8 people on my friend list. all above 100 combat which was a great achievement at those rsc times, was openly admitting to use auto programs such as **** and ********. Even so, I never saw a autoer while playing. I was mainly coal mining back in rsc, as it was THE best money making skill of the time and yet I never saw a autoer. If you still question my "age" in rs, I could show you my scythe or simply take a pic of my log in message (haven't changed my password, recoveries and such since mid february 2002) Matok: I'm just irritaded by the fact that most ppl report first, ask questions later (if they do so at all).
-
It's people like you that get people like me black marks/banned (not that I have been unlucky enough to get a black mark so far) for not wanting to reply to some silly questions or requests. Why can't a person have his public chat off if he wants to without getting multiple "omg, a autoer" reports? While gathering seaweed at the rock crabs I was reported by multiple people for autoing merely because I didn't want to stop to do my emote for them every time I passed by some noob training there. Before you report someone, at least make sure he's actually doing something against the rules... Don't just assume that someone is autoing merely because he dosen't reply. He could be muted, or simply not willing to chat or reply to whatever silly questions you might ask him. Personally, in my 5 years of playing runescape, I've never seen a autoer and hopefully I'll never see one.

I've seen hundreds of ppl there while using the blast furnace or brewing beer. In fact, the Keldagrim bank is one of my most used banks.

Important Information Regarding Fletching
Dead_Dude4 replied to Ginger_Warrior's topic in General Discussion
I've never met a 99 smith that's gotten 99 from buying gold ores and smelthing... NEVER! Every 99 smith I know went the same way as me, and that's smelthing iron ores and making iron knifes :D -
I won't be collecting those drinks for the xp though... I am a beer collector after all :P Brewed over 1k beers so far, which makes it 63 days worth of non stop brewing if you use BOTH fermenting vats and always keep a steady supply of brewing materials. Other than those 1k brewed beers I have another 6k beers (bought from bars or collected in barb village), making my collection a total of 7k beers and 22 types of beers (counting the mature beers and sq'irkjuice as well) which isn't even all types of beers (missing some mature beers) :D God I love those beers =P~
-
I gave up on selling items shortly after the release of rs2. Ever since, I've been buying items at the forums (basic materials for skilling) and high alching/using the items I make. Yes, I still do occationally sell a item or two, but I always sell them below the market price to get rid of them asap (always using the forums). It may sound weird, but I've bought 99 prayer(unprofitable), smithing(profitable), fletching(profitable) and cooking(profitable) this way, but never sold any products what so ever :D And I was always skilling while waiting for someone to find my posts on the forums = no time wasted (well, maybe the beer/tool/random item collections may seem like a waste to some, lol). Personally I prefer life this way. It's simple, it's easy and you don't have to waste your life on waiting for trades and possibly trading your soul to the devil for a fast trade.
-
I love this update :D Finally a beverage that is untradeable and fits in a beer glass other than the asgoldian ale! As a beer collector (anyone else out there?) I'll find myself spending quite some time on collecting 1k+ of each of thease drinks =P~

When you started, which skill was released first?
Dead_Dude4 replied to Dazzuh's topic in General Discussion
Herblore was the first skill released after I became a rs player :) 2 years later I finally became a member, lol  -
RuneScape Levels and Experience formula
Dead_Dude4 replied to Jard_Y_Dooku's topic in General Discussion
I've had that formula for quite a while :P Found it here on the forums one day (yes, I do search alot :P). Anyways, here's a php version of the code for those who'd like to use it on websites and such: <? //Function that calculates the xp function experience($B) { $a=0; for($x=1; $x<$B; $x++) { $a += floor($x+300*pow(2, ($x/7))); } return floor($a/4); } //A small code that lists all xp / levels (you can change this to a single level / xp or whatever you want) for($B=1;$B<100;$B++) { echo 'Level '.$B.': '.experience($B).' '; } ?>
