Wilderness Capes for F2P. | 35+ Supporters!
D. V. Devnull replied to The Observer's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Edit: And btw, I think if wilderness capes should become f2p, they should still only be purchasable in p2p. If they are only purchasable in P2P, they will end up being overpriced. Members will become so ignorant, they will think they can sell the capes for 100k each. They probably will... That would be destructive for the economy. Therefore, some capes should be available for buying directly in F2P. Hmm, maybe there's a purple one for me... :-k ~Mr. Devnull -
SpyBot S&D = Good ... Use Lavasoft's Ad-Aware for spyware removal along with it, if you're not, just in case. What one doesn't get, the other WILL, in my experience. :) As for Norton AntiVirus, sadly, it is not enough. :( ... I've had the experience of switching from it to NOD32, and just after the switch, I saw my dad's historical spam quarantine folder (which he keeps in case of spam filter foul-ups) suddenly get carted off to NOD32's Quarantine due to over 200 different viruses still in it, and on the first system-wide scan. (Note: I don't get his kind of heaps of spam, so that's why I am not talking about my own, because it actually showed mine clean of viruses.) Viruses sitting in my dad's spam quarantine which totally slipped past Norton AntiVirus. ... Thankfully, you can still move the folder item back long enough to use the mail program's delete command to send the viruses to hell, and NOD32 will keep the system safe during it. This allows you to not shatter your mail program's directory tree. Also, I've had the experience of seeing a running setup of NOD32 kill a couple of totally new viruses. (Literally, no actual definition was needed in catching them, but the Antivirus took the time to note it looked similar to another.) NOD32 has true heuristical detection, as Eset claims. On a similar layout with Norton, however, this virus would have gotten through. Their heuristic detection doesn't work so well. Sadly, with Norton, it takes having the virus definition ahead of time. (We've ended up going to earlier backups of our system due to at least 1 virus getting past Norton.) So, you will need to switch to Eset's NOD32 for your AntiVirus. Thankfully, Eset has better definition quality and detection quality for less price, both in initial buy and in renewal. Personally, I think you'll be happy afterward. They recently added the ability to detect nasty rootkits, which means if you have that nasty one everyone knows about from Sony, you should be able to rip that out too. Also, NOD32 has far decreased scanning time versus Norton for a full system scan or even just a single file due to its' non-"RAM hogging" scanning system. And finally, if NOD32 shows your PC as clean of viruses/rookits/trojans/malware, you can actually trust it. : Good luck on finding out what is messing up your RuneScape browser and IE7 both. Even if it ain't due to something messing with the DNS, it sounds like the other possibility of 'something getting in via an advertisement exploiting a system hole' may have happened. Which reminds me, you'll want to block off "advert.runescape.com" (Jagex's advert script server, which calls the adverts from websites other than their own) to protect yourself against one of the many possible paths of attack. ~Mr. D. And ... WHAT were you trying to show us? :| ~Mr. Devnull [/hide] Hehe no attack style! I see now. Stunning. :o Nice video. But I would like to know one thing... Who was the artist of the music and what piece names?!?!? ~Mr. Devnull

I would have preferred a mist (possibly blood?) wall or something like that. The ditch needs to be made into something else that won't hurt rc-ing and such so badly. I support too. ~Mr. Devnull (Note: As of this post, 100% agreement over the idea throughout the thread!)

Green Dragon for F2p!! Its not what You Think!

This idea looks like a flop... how about some Greater Demons in non-wildi? :o ~Mr. Devnull -

More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]
D. V. Devnull replied to Prankster_King's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Yes, that would be nice, I'll post a pic of my bank in a few days, just don't have time now. The only problem about posting on the RSOF is only members can and not many members support our cause. Well the new shops interface has helped a bit because we can easily buy things whenever we need--for a price though. The main thing that takes up so much of my space is the talismens. I'm thinking about chucking some or selling them, keeping only those few I really need. You could craft the talismans? :D ~Mr. Devnull Or give/sell to me! :D You're trying to steal gandorf61's exp! <*slaps unkn0wnwarrior*> ... Shame on you! :shame: ~Mr. Devnull -

Uhm, gross? :-X DO NOT LIKE! ~Mr. Devnull

Way to jump to conclusions. Dell machines come bundled with customized error pages, home pages and so on. It's what they do. A virus scan and firewall are always a good idea, but assuming he has a virus because Dell of all people customized the error is just straight up wrong. Thanks for the heads-up then. I didn't know that Dell pulled that crud. No wonder they've got a half-dozen other problems with the PCs they sell. ~Mr. Devnull

Nicrune008, I suggest you conduct a full security sweep of your computer. It sounds much to me like you got hit by an IE7 vulnerability, and not just some downed server. Dell search page? No way that sounds like a simple server link problem to me. If such is the case, it is very likely that FireFox won't help much either. Why? Re-routed DNS caused by a virus. Well, looks like you'd better go get "Eset's NOD32 AntiVirus" and "ZoneAlarm Free" (or better level of ZoneAlarm)... and if you're running ZoneAlarm, it may have been compromised in a way that will require uninstall and reinstall if you do have a virus, because if there is one and it did circumvent the AntiVirus, it definitely damaged critical files that ZoneAlarm needs to function, possibly inclusive of Windows' TCP/IP stack itself. Heck, worst case? You're looking at a windows reinstall. :( Well, good luck on getting that one fixed. ~Mr. Devnull

Green Dragon for F2p!! Its not what You Think!
D. V. Devnull replied to chariot's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I'm not liking this idea. Prayer is in bad need of an update on F2P (which semi-rare drops of Dragon bones would severely fix), as well as an update should be placed to be able to provide members with crafting parts to get lowered prices for Green D'hide Items... Dropping prices in F2P like mad and such is the only way we're gonna get rid of the autoers at this point. I don't support unless Bones and Hides are made available as drop items. I'm sorry, but if you want to kill autoers, then what I have said is the only way to go about it. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -
Picture of the Invis Guard3!!!!
D. V. Devnull replied to rt_phondents's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Lol, thats a really cool find. Is it still there? Maybe its a secret security camera that jagex uses lol  Call it a "RuneScape Easter Egg"? :P ~Mr. Devnull -
Yeah, IF you have the parts. Else you get to go all over hell-'n-highwater for it. ~Mr. Devnull

Correct me if i am wrong but didnt they
D. V. Devnull replied to Matok's topic in General Discussion
That would have been in Yanille, right? :? From what I understood in what I read so far, it ain't there anymore. A sad shame, if you ask for my opinion. They could have done better with the shop re-config. ~Mr. Devnull -

D. V. Devnull replied to Matok's topic in General Discussion
I'm skipping right down after reading some 20-odd posts or so between 2 threads... and here's the question... What about those that use the battlestaves for battling, and need to not worry about having to go over heck-and-high-water for it? Why didn't they adjust the shop engine for stock specification controlling? Sounds like there's work to be done yet. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull (p.s.: I know I'm F2P... but I like to keep track of all the P2P stuff so I'm ahead of the ball game in case I get a crazy question from a P2P buddy.) -
More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]
D. V. Devnull replied to Prankster_King's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
They don't allow talking about it on RSOF. Further, too many people are F2P, so that option is kinda dead. -.- Further, Jagex kinda has to listen if a server gets spammed badly enough to lag. Oh, wait, we haven't had that happen yet. Not enough people. ... Maybe you'd like to try to support, have more room for skilling and such? :? And what kind of stats do you have? Are you a "pure" account user? :-s ~Mr. D. V. Devnull -
Hehe I was doing that all day once, where people could see. From an arrow to a party hat to F.U. Yup did it all  I should help do one of those. ~Mr. Devnull

More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]
D. V. Devnull replied to Prankster_King's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I've already had to go and dump my "full mime/full camo/full lederhosen/full zombie" megamix. Kind of upset about it. At least I got the emotes. :? Prankster_King/BlackBear778, get back here and lead us! I am slowly losing all faith in this movement. -.- ~Mr. Devnull -
Trimmed this to just what I am responding to... seeing you posting like 3 times per page on pointless things, withouth pictures is lame :wall: Sorry for the lack of pictures. I just noticed other screenshots posted, and wished rather much to comment on them. :anxious: ... You may have also noticed the discussions that built up ... Sadly, during that time, I hadn't hit upon anything else much of merit in my own things. The levels in my sig at the time I am posting this (such as the serious lack of 70+ skills) attest to that. -.- ~Mr. Devnull

I don't see a glitch... :-k EDIT: Ooh, I just saw it lol, people behind the bank desks. That's one glitch I wish Jagex had not removed. I wish I could walk right up to the bankers! :( BTW, is my own achievment so lame that no one wants to comment? :ohnoes: ~Mr. Devnull

Did you ever think that some older people might not want to always be staring at that? I'm 24, and I don't! <*Runs drainege through the cheese-grater...*> ~Mr. Devnull

Okay, time to unspam myself in this thread with my own personal achievement. Had fun laying the one image on top of the other too with Serif PhotoPlus version 10, which is why you see 2 panels there. I saw no reason to show the rest of the screen due to the stitching work. (Would have looked horrible anyway.) [hide=The Image is inside this hide command due to Tip.It Rules. You need to click to open it.][/hide] I managed to do it finally on 2007/09/27, and got all the RS F2P Random Event Items and Emotes. ... Also shown is a Fake Yin-Yang Ammy from the Makeover mage, bought because I needed it for the "More F2P Bank Space" thread's rallies, and myself in Falador Square late at night with almost no one there, and completely unequipped at the time. (Would have been awful if a "Shade (Level 121)" had shown up right then! :ohnoes: ...) And before anyone asks, I already know that Thessalia can change the frog tokens into the frog headwear and clothing items. I just wanted to show that I have a bunch of the tokens. (13 more in bank, BTW!) Sadly, since the rallies and stuff have not succeeded yet, I've been forced to drop the random event items. Would have been nice if Jagex had thought to allow banking those items with Thessalia, to go along with the POH stuff in P2P. Enjoy the stitched screenshot image, folks! : ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
