Well, I just did: I'm such a geek, lol.

Well, ever since scamming had became really common, with especially "trust" scams, I've stopped lending people things, unless they have a really good reputation on the RS community. For this player - although it wasn't him who scammed me, I'm not going name him because he deserves his privacy. Anyways, this player was well known accoss RuneScape, especially for having held the #1 firemaking spot for well over a year. A few days ago, "he" wanted to borrow 3M to merchant for a dragon chain, so I trusted him. It turns out it wasn't him - someone had guessed his recovery questions. My friend said he'll try to do something but I told him that if really couldn't return 3M to me, he didn't have to. But since this incident, I probably shouldn't lend anything of significant value regardless of the player's reputation. You'd think that having good karma from not having ever scammed anyone would help - I guess not. Oh well, RS is just a game. I can still make about 300-600k a day from thieving and doing treasure trails. edit: fixed typos

Are there any items that are untradable but that you think should be tradable, or items that you don't see a reason for being untradable? Well, here are mine: Firelighters - they're not quest items. Plus, they're the only treasure trail item that is currently untradable. Spirit seeds and bird eggs - they don't seem to be quest items. Also, I noticed an inconsistency about quest rewards. For example, elemental shields can be traded but can't be worn by those who have not completed the quest, and Legends capes can't be traded at all. Hmm...

I just finished the entire RfD quest. Thanks for your help! I don't know if it was just luck, but Karamel was pretty easy for me on my third attempt. I used a fire battlestaff and green dragonhide body and all I lost was 12 HP and I only needed to take one dose of my stat restore potion. :)

For people who have completed RfD, does anyone have any advice for Karamel and onwards? I killed Agirth-Na-Na (gosh, he hits a lot) and Flambeed, but not sure what to do about the rest of the bosses. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you know that doing level 1 clues can be fairly profitable? No? Let's get started then. Not many people know that doing level 1 treasure trails is a great way to make money. Of course, the rewards are based on luck, but you can still get many valuable items from doing treasure trails. True, the rewards from level 1 treasure trails aren't worth much when compared to Robin Hood hats and trimmed rune armor. However, level 1 clues are extremely easy to get! This guide teaches you how to obtain and complete such trails with utmost efficiency. To have the best advantage, you should have the following skills and have completed the following quests: Recommended skills: 1. level 20 thieving 2. level 66 magic 3. level 27 crafting Recommended quests: 1. The Grand Tree 2. One Small Favour 3. Watch Tower 4. Tree Gnome Village 5. Fairy Tale II - Cure a Queen (no completion required) 6. Ghosts Ahoy Completing The Grand Tree and One Small Favour grants you access to the entire gnome glider network. Watch Tower allows the Watchtower Teleport spell. Tree Gnome Village allows players to teleport via spirit trees, and those who have completed Fairy Tale II can use fairy rings. Finally, Ghosts Ahoy allows quick access to Canifis. Note that many of those quests require you to have completed other quests. They're definitely worth the time! Recommended inventory: 1. full H.A.M. outfit 2. air staff 3. 25 law runes 4. 10-15 each of air, water, and fire runes 5. a dramen or Lunar staff 6. games necklace 7. a spade 8. charged glory amulet 9. boots of lightness Step I: Getting the clues The best way to get clues by far is pickpocketing H.A.M. members. You only need level 15 thieving (20 if you to pickpocket male H.A.M. members as well). Look for a dungeon entrance in the forest west of Lumbridge. There should be a trapdoor with a picture of a chunk of ham. Pick the lock to enter - it may take a while. Once inside, go into the central area and pickpocket the H.A.M. members. If you fail too many times, you may be knocked out and placed into a jail cell or moved outside. If you get kicked out, just enter again. If you get jailed, just pick the lock on the jail. Having the full H.A.M. outfit will reduce your chance of getting caught. Clues are very common, as you can usually get one within minutes. Step II: Locating the clue Usually, level 1 clues aren't too difficult to solve. In any case, you can also refer to the tip.it treasure trails guide. Step III: Getting there This is where the transportation comes in. You should be wielding an air staff and carrying law, fire, earth, and water runes. An ectophail, games necklace, Lunar staff, and dueling ring may also prove useful. Some places don't have direct teleport targets, so teleport to the nearest place. Some examples include: 1. Seers village and Catherby - use Camelot Teleport 2. Draynor village - use charged glory amulet 3. Al Kharid - use Lumbridge Teleport, gnome gliders, or charged glory amulet 4. Yanille - Watchtower Teleport or home teleport (if your house is there) 5. Barbarian village - use Glory amulet teleport or skull sceptor 6. Canifis - Kharyrll Teleport (ancient magicks) or ectophail In November 2006, Jagex added new clues which required performing certain emotes while wearing certain items. It is recommended that you have the following items in your bank. 1. coif 2. iron plate 3. leather gloves 4. leather boots 5. iron chain 6. leather chaps 7. regular longbow 8. oak longbow 9. steel mace 10. iron warhammer 11. Step IV: And so on... From now on, repeat steps II and III. Level 1 trails have no coordinate clues and have four clues at the most. When you're done, teleport to Lumbridge and start again! Good luck! Other useful tips 1. If you have a low magic level, try buying teleportation tablets. They're what skill pures use to get around quickly. However, these tablets have limited destinations. 2. H.A.M. members are also good sources of uncut semi-precious gems, unidentified low-level herbs, cow hide, coal, and arrows (bronze and steel). 3. Don't be afraid to teleport frequently. True, law runes aren't cheap, especially for low-level players. However, good treasure trail rewards will defnitely cover the costs of teleportation, which don't cut too deep into profits. 4. Unless your inventory is full, don't throw away the steel picks. They can also cover the costs of teleportation when sold to the general stores. 5. It is reported that players can pickpocket farmers for clues, but this is not true. 6. On the average, expect to get a good item every five trails or so. 7. If you're short on cash, save the damaged armor and rusty swords as well. You can use them on armor stands and get back plates and swords of various metals. They sometimes break, though. Below are my logs for level 1 treasure trails, starting at September 14, 2006. I don't know if this is related, but all of a sudden, I'm suffering a dry spell with clues on RuneScape. 13 clues in a row with no good stuff.

Sorry for bumping this up, but... Things like this can definitely happen, given the rate of clues. Once, I went to kill turoths for slayer, and the first one dropped a clue. After doing the clue, I went back to turoths again, and the 6th one dropped a clue. Things like this could be replicated fairly easily if you keep dropping and picking up a clue scroll to prevent the first one from disappearing. I wonder if it would have been possible to do both by "juggling" both clues all the way through the trail. Even if it were possible, it'd probably take like hours, lol. I can definitely relate to similar things in real life, though. For example, I'm kinda a party animal, and I like dances and such. Dances are relatively rare in college (although more common than in high school). Well, there's two of them on the 27th, and as the laws of physics state, we can't be at two places at once. :P

Well, sometimes you'll get luck and get like 3 good clues in a row. Other times, you may expect to get dry spells. My longest dry spell was 22 clues; I'm kind aon another dry spell witht he 12th bad clue in a row.

Is the shade-burning mini-game a good method to get clues? It seems that theres many possible items from chests, meaning that the odds of clues are low. However, many of those items are still good. Does anyone here do that mini-game often? If so, is it worth it?
