I'm kinda having trouble imagining Arnie as a RS player, lol. -

Is killing the giant mole a good way to get rare drops? Some people say that the mole has good drops; others say the opposite. I know there's always a chance to get valuable magic seeds from nests, and half keys, dmeds, and shield halves from the mole. Anyone have an estimate on the drop rates? I don't know if it's luck or something, but I've mostly been getting just runes from the mole lately.

Actually, there are tornadoes in California, albeit rare. I live in California, and I have experienced a tornado. On May 4, 1998, two tornadoes touched down in the Bay Area, one in Los Altos and one in Sunnyvale (the Sunnyvale one was more severe). It was just after 5:00 PM, and just as my tutor was leaving, the wind became really strong. Some neighboring houses suffered serious damages. We didn't suffer that much, but a wooden beam broke our gas meter, casuing a deadly leak. Luckily, it didn't ignite. But man, it was scary... http://tornado.sfsu.edu/Geosciences/Sto ... yvale.html

Before these forums were Scapeboard (I think). Before Scapeboard was another Dk3 domain. Before that were the old tip.it forums (circa 2001). Before that was another forum, I think, but I wasn't around at that time.

Certain topics loading particularly slowly

I've also noticed the problem. I can't use FuBai's safe spot guide anymore. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=373132 It shows up as a blank page. I tried FireFox and can't get it to work either. -
Jagex shying away from community involvement?
ixfd64 replied to ixfd64's topic in General Discussion
Well, it's true. Back when RS was much smaller, the Gowers had a lot of personal touch, and there was a general "folksy" feeling to it. But now, RS is so big, Jagex can't cover everything. Any "favortism" would probably result in loads of complaints. -
Relatively early in RS (circa 2002), Jagex announced two real-life weddings of people who met each other on RS. However, after they gave out a safety warning, they did no more announcements. Note that this was ages before Rule 13 was added, and Jagex probably doesn't want to encourage people to break Rule 13. Also, Jagex once announced the passing of a player named Siw[some numbers]. However, when The Old Nite passed away, Jagex did no similar announcements. I can understand the case if the family doesn't want it to be too publicized. But I still feel that Jagex is shying away from community involvement. Also, they removed the "community" category on the news. Any thoughts?

I've ehard that at level 75 agility, you stop failing the Ape Atoll course, and according to the RuneScape Wiki (http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Agility), you stop failing the werewolf course at 93. Does anyone know any no-fail levels for places like the Wilderness course, or other places? (I'm 67 and I still fail many shortcuts).

What do you think about the huge whip price drop?
ixfd64 replied to jpd2's topic in General Discussion
Well, like in real economics, prices drop as things become less rare. Consider this scenario: In day one, when only A was level-85 slayer, he held a monopoly sold whips for 50M. Suppose B reaches level 85 slayer. He figures that if he sold whips for 40M instead, he'll get far more customers. People stop buying from player A, who is then forced to lower his price. A few weeks later, C reaches 85 slayer. He doesn't care much for money, so he sells for 35M instead. A and B are again forced to lower prices. Two days later, D reaches level 85 slayer. He decides to quit members, so he sells whips for only 30M... And the cycle continues. -
The more I read this thread, the more I'm convinced that there is more to the Ring of Charos(a) than it meets the eye lol.

Another bad luck thread. Share your experience.
ixfd64 replied to Autist's topic in General Discussion
Well, one of my friends said she did over 350 barrows runs in a row without any barrows items or dmeds. Anyways, for me: 22nd (and ongoing) treasure trails without any special rewards. -
You can get its power unlocked by going far enough into the Garden of Tranquility quest.

I apologize for bumping up this 3-month old thread, but I find this very interesting. I don't have a RoW right now, and usually, I get low coin drops at fire giants. However, once I put on my RoC, I went back to fire giants. 1st drop: mith sq 2nd drop: 5 blood runes 3rd drop: uncut sapphire 4th drop: mith sq again I started getting coins again, though. This could be pure luck. Mathematically, it's possible to kill a KQ a googolplex times and not get a dragon chain. But then again, the RoC could be a conspiracy... *hums the X-Files theme*

20 September 2006 - Slug Menace - Rough Quest Guide Now Up!!
ixfd64 replied to Taito2004's topic in General Discussion
It looks like Jagex didn't do enough testing. :shame: If you look at one of the screenshots, "runecrafting" is misspelled. Also, after you bet the quest, the "I have been duped..." part in thr quest journal appears twice. -
I know that I need to get 3 more greegrees for the quest. Does that mean that I have to go through the Marim dungeon all the way? Or is Zocknock at a different place now? Also, since I can transform into a monkey now, do I still need protect from prayer in the dungeon? Thanks.

One of my friends (she's level 95+) says that KBD is quite easy to solo, and that she's done up to 3 in one trip. She says her level 125 friend could do up to 9-10. However, the most I've seen here is 3. So just curiours, for those of yopu who have soloed KBD, how many times have you done it?

Tip.It Times Presents: Welcoming Home the Prodigal Children
ixfd64 replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
For tip.it, I think that the administrators should be specific how long a user is banned for. However, to prevent people from using sock puppet accounts to evade bans, we should use a "ban timer" system. Suppose Fred is banned for 2 weeks. If he tries to evade the ban with a sock puppet and is caught after one week, the ban timer resets. Assuming that he no longer tries to evade the ban, the ban would be 3 weeks long. -
Can some enchanted bolts be recovered (like regular arrows and bolts), ro can they only be used for one shot before they disappear? I mean, given the power of the bolts, letting them be recoverable might make them overpowered, but then again, bolts and arrows can often be reused. Just curious. Thanks.

I don't know if this would make the game unfair, but... Spell: Resurrect Level: 88 Runes: 1 soul, 4 natures, 1 life (Jagex still needs to add the life rune to RS) Allows player to bring a dead farming patch back to life. Spell: Visitation Level: 90 Runes: 4 law, 1 soul Teleports player to the last place where they died (will not work if the player last died on Entrana) Prayer: Protect from elements Level: 61 Protects player from some types damaging environment (falling rocks, etc). However, I admit that this may make agility training too easy Prayer: Protect from special attacks Level: 64 Some NPCs, like dragons, have attacks that neither count as melee, magic, or range. This prayer protects against such attacks. Any thoughts?

As we know, there are no no-fail levels for pickpocketing - even a level 99 thief will get caught by men. However, are there no-fail levels for picking locks? I'm level 89 thieving right now, and I don't seem to fail the locks in the Ardougne houses. However, I still often fail to pick the H.A.M. locks. Anyone know at what level do you stop failing certain locks?

Yeah, Steve would probably be shaking his head in heaven about this. :\ But I'm not sure whether the news should have published this - it would be likely to encourage even more killings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:BEANS Edit: this guy totally has the wrong spirit: http://www.gateway.ualberta.ca/view.php?aid=6363

Sometimes, mistakes can be pretty costly. For example, accidentally alching a Santa hat or selling a whip to the general shop (and someone else buys it before you have the chance). So here I propose two changes: 1. warning messages Before alching or sellin certain marked items (whips, rares, dragon equipment, etc), the player would get a message "Are you sure you'd like to [low-alch, high-alch, sell] this item? The street value may be much higher than the game value." 2. rollback button Within a certain amount of time, the player would be able to reverse an alching. The player would get back the item and the nature rune, but lose the exp and gp gained.
