  1. I used to be a Yo-Yo fanatic. I would get up at 6:30 AM when I was 10 so I could practice. I used to actually be able to do some of the tricks he does.
  2. Anyone else played this? It's a free mod for Half life 2 that pits a team of human survivors (who get no respawns against a team of zombies (who get a handful of respawns). The humans start off with the advantage as they have numerical advantage and a good supply of weapons. The first little bit of a match consists of humans run around picking off zombies and collecting ammo and guns. They start to build barricades in small rooms with one or two ways in. This part is basically a slaughter, however when the match wears on the humans run low on their limited supply of ammo. Eventually they run out of ammo and have to switch to melee weapons such as golf clubs or crowbars. This part of the match becomes very intense, as you can see and hear the undead groaning and clawing at the walls of the barricade. You sit there and count your 3 remaining shotgun bullets, 5 glock bullets and 1 revolver shot and hope that the zombies don't break through the barricade before time runs out and the military arrive. Other game modes have the survivors completing objectives to escape from the horde. One map I've played is a section of Ravenholme from HL2, where the survivors have to break down a barricade to get to a lever, which leads to them jumping over a gap into a building, where they break down another barricade and escape. The hook to the game is the panic hotkey. The more items you carry (guns, ammo, melee weapons) the slower you become. For example, if you carry a max load of weapons, then you move slower than the zombies. If you hit the panic hotkey, you drop all your weapons and can outrun the zombie horde. I'd recommend to download this, it's a very fun mod with a decent sized community. http://www.zombiepanic.org/
  3. Look, I don't mind that you like the bullet spread, but for the love of God don't say because it's more realistic  Seriously, Halo ranks up in the most non-realistic games of all time. MLG players don't really care very much about realism until you get into the Vegas 2 crowd, what the majority of players want is something consistent.
  4. I've under gone minor surgery to remove calcium deposits twice. It's awesome, I got the day off school, drank nothing but Sprite and Canada Dry all day, played xbox at the hospital. The anesthesia knocked me out cold in 10 seconds, I woke up 4 hours later after feeling no pain. Only thing is that the gas makes you a little woozy when you wake up. I don't have a problem with surgery because I have very high trust in doctors.
  5. The thing that ticks me off about the BR is how the spread is random. I wouldn't care if the bullets went in the exact same wide spread, but sometimes you'll get 3 bullets going dead straight, other times having them go in a very wide spread. The BR is near-perfect on LAN, but once you hit online and bullets start dropping, that's when it gets bad. If you want to test it, play a game of MLG, go into theatre, and watch the bullet counter on the BR. If it goes from, say, 24 then flickers back to 25, that means a bullet in the spread was lost over the internet and was refunded back to you.

I'm starting to prefer 1.6 over source now. Once they fix the hitboxes in source I'll probably start playing there a little more.

Just picked up Company of Heroes, it's awesome. Rise of nations and Rise of Legends are also personal favorites.
  8. What's broken about the BR? First off, the spread of the bullets is completely random. This makes the BR extremely inconsistent and makes battles random. You could either have all bullets flying dead straight or have them all going off to the side. This isn't a huge deal as some make it out to be, but it is annoying. The next reason is more of a netcoding issue. The 2nd bullet in the burst will (this happens roughly once every five shots or so) just get lost over the internet. 1 bullet might not seem like a huge deal, but it can lead to you having to shoot an extra 1/2 bursts into the person. That can be the difference between life and death, and is very frustrating either way. The last problem is also with the netcoding. Bullets just won't register sometimes. This and the last issue effect effect all weapons, but the most noticeable are the BR, sniper, and carbine.
  9. Favorite single-player: Bioshock, The Orange Box. Favorite casual multiplayer to play with friends: COD4 Favorite multiplayer shooter overall: Vegas 2 Least favorite: Halo 3. I used to love it, but until bungie fixes the netcode and the broken BR I can't play it.
  10. Sleep, read, play on my DS or laptop, watch in-flight movies. Those things will generally cover even the longest of flights.
  11. Yeah, the netcode in the game is pretty bad. It's especially obvious in pistol only matches where you pump someone's face full of lead and they don't die. They at least need a ping filter so that you can find less-laggy games.

Hm. Playing CS with a controller while everyone else uses a m/kb... I gotta try that one day.
  13. Now that I think about it, I think this is my first too. I played Gunz for a bit before, but that's third-person...Though I remember 3 years ago, at computer camp (Yes, I'm a geek), I played some shooter. Might have been a FPS. I have no idea what it was though... And I bought myself an advanced backpack, now I carry two sniper rifles and an AK-47. That should work better. And jjrox, are you sure you typed your username right? Doesn't seem to work for me. Hmm, that's my account name I guess. MY ingame name is JJ_Headshot (shut up -.-).
  14. It's better then sliced bread. (And much nicer then console FPS). Yeah, after playing PC FPS's for a while now console shooters feel... I don't know, less exciting? I just like how the mouse and keyboard give you sooo much more control.
  15. I dunno. When I'm playing seriously I actually try to command the team (ie. "dont go in that room, they have sword and shotties. throw in grenades instead"). But when I'm a bit drunk, I'm pretty sure all I do is say random crap when I kill/die Having headsets is something that is almost necessary in my eyes. Once you get into the upper echelons of a game where people start playing to win, being able to communicate is essential. But in general they're just used for insults, screaming, 5 year olds yelling at the top of there lungs, bad singing, etc. Most of the time when I just go into a Halo or COD4 pub (I don't know how else to put it. I've been PC gaming a lot lately) I'll either private chat with a friend or just mute al other players. That may have sounded a little weird, basically what I'm saying is that it's necessary to have headsets, but really only when you're playing seriously are they actually used properly.
  16. isn't that spetsnaz? Think so. Either way, sniping in general is pretty easy.

Bleh, I gotta stay more on topic in threads lately. Anyway, I sleep in either foetus and free faller, I cannot sleep on my back under any circumstances. Though sometimes I can sleep on my sides/ On a side note, does anyone else hate when you've had a hard sports practice/workout, so you go to bed really stiff. Then the next day you wake up so sore that you can barely move?
  18. Oh God, until about halfway through that first sentence I woulda swore someone had hijacked your account.

Pfft, I don't care if your neck is broken, you will ride the behemoth.
  20. This may seem like a dumb question, but is there any way to filter ping levels so I can find lower-ping games?
  21. Ugh, I can't stand to watch soccer. Well, it's not really soccer's fault, it's just that I can really only watch fast paced sports like lacrosse. Soccer and baseball are too slow paced for me to enjoy. UNLESS it goes to a shootout, then it gets intense.
  22. Oh. I must have read what you wrote the wrong way.
  23. I actually found it really funny how much I changed in 2 years by just looking at that sentence. For the record, it was in the Help and Advice section under the topic "Does your range def increase with your range lvl" or something like that.
