So i've heard that the GE is suppose to update its prices daily based on what the computer's pick up (rise or drop on the demand or supply for that day), however, As far as I can see, the prices have no changed since yesterday morning. Is there a certain time of the day that the prices are updated at?

you just move things around until its like that, I don't know what you mean lol. 1m bid on me so far. Queenvalerie has a 10m bid on her :shock: I woke up this morning, did my tree rounds, and found I was 8.5m richer! i love the GE :D

So far I've sold nearly 10m worth of stuff on the GE, seems to be working for me :)

Yea, I used a few K ashes about a year ago because I had a ton of tarromins. Everyone got all confused when I was chasing Firemakers around picking up there ashes lol.

haven't even been home to try out the GE but from what I'm seeing/reading i already love it :) . Can't wait to get home and get all these stray potions and miscellaneous millions I have in my bank up for sale and see what happens. Nice job jagex, this looks flawless as far as I can see. Well, except for the fact that it's almost impossible to sell anything, it's perfect. ;) I don't see how its impossible to sell anything if you don't be an idiot and sell for the highest possible price. If you do that you should know that you won't get you're item sold. There are many items I have tried to sell for the lowest possible price. There are no buyers because Jagex's artificial price is above the market. Which items would this be? and Jagex's system should pick this up and gradually the price of these items should fall in the market price. This thing only just came out, prices WILL change gradually, it may just not be the most effective thing for certain items at first.

To the people saying that you can't browse is a problem, can't you see how that would totally screw over the prices? since the 5% is set by players whats to say that "Joe" puts a phat up for the high end of the 5% and "Ted" his best friend buys it for that higher price, they get a large group of merchants together to do this with a single color of hat over a few weeks, Jagex's system would read this as an increase in the price of this item causing the base to go up, they continue to do this and price just keeps going up and up until its some absurd amount that nobody will pay. if this occurs then the GE would stop being used because all of hte market prices went up to some really ridiculous amount. This is simply an example, it could be done with any item if they had the ability to know who they are buying/selling from. As far as I can see, this update is currently flawless, I love it :D

I have one question, lets say I were to offer to buy something at 100k each (the maximum of the 5%) but someone was selling for less say at 80k (the minimum of the 5%) would the item still be sold to me at this reduced price? I think if someone offers the higher 5% then it should also get them all the deals lower than this until it meets the item quota that was asked. It depends really, it actually makes price manipulation a lot easier, all the merchs can set up a cabal buying and selling too each other at maximum price and slowly shift the prices upwards, although while doing so they run the risk of others purchasing their rares. This is the reason why its not done in a forum style, you cannot pick who you buy or sell from, the trades are done anonymously.

You are correct, there is no browsing possible. You can place a sell offer or you can place a buy offer. And the system will match the offers and make the transaction. This is going to be a big problem.. at least at first and perhaps beyond that. Suppose I offer to sell a widget at 10k and someone else offers to buy at 9k. We might both be willing to compromise at 9.5k but right now neither of us can find out that the other even exists. That is what will maintain the balance within the GE. If you actually wan't to get you're item sold at a reasonable rate of time then you will put a reasonable price, if you put the price very high nobody is going to buy it, therefore it will entice people to put it at the medium or lower price.

Thats what I'm hoping for, I sold off a lot of things and I'm expecting to see a price drop on some things. I've got to spend another 20-30m on seeds to get to 99 and I really would like to get it cheaper if I can :oops:

No idea lol, just have to wait and see, I'm not in any kind of hurry here. Just doing my farming rounds like I've done up to this point, its getting ridiculously expensive however...

they aren't going to make them untradable, but I've seen recently they seem to be doing things that cause them to reduce in value, which would not surprise me if they continued to do that until they eventually just fell out of popularity all together.

Phats are highly overrated, once you get one you will realize this and sell it lol, it happens to most people. It's just not worth the cost.

I'm really not sure how its going to go, theres two things that could happen. Jagex could not set a fee to use it and people will put items into the GE at 10-20% higher in price because they can just leave it there, causing a game-wide increase in prices. Or Jagex could set a fee which means everyone won't want to lose this deposit, therefore they will set reasonable prices or even below street price in order to make sure there item sells, causing everything to lower in price. My bet is on #2, but we'll just have to wait and see (I hope its #2 lol).

I read quite alot of them, I just dont always have something to say. since when have I had ego problems? First time I saw you post on someone's blog was on 3 Hit U's one. if what you say is true, I'd better hurry up and finish my 99 Runecrafting :shock: (Can't use runners anymore) also, if macro's were to be removed, you may be happy at first, but there is a cost. You will have to pay 200-300 gp higher for every raw material, perhaps more, due to the decrease in autoers. If you don't mind paying a much heavier fee for skilling items then removing autoers is good, otherwise its not so great. Just my 2 cents. also, it does not remove gold farmers, the farmers will simply have to sell through the grand exchange on the account that they do the macroing on, they will, however, be easier to track but not removed.
