  1. Another reason for the lack of viruses is that viruses are harder to write for Unix based systems. The same goes of OS X. http://www.silvermac.com/2008/why-there ... s-for-osx/ There are viruses for mac, btw.
  2. And while we're at it, Tipit should support swiftswitch. Zybez doth not a forum standard make.
  3. The same can be said about the exact opposite. I know quite a few people who avoid eye contact with those that they like. Exactly. Again it comes up for me this respect of personal space thing for me because I live in Finland. If you pass someone on the street, you do not look them in the eye unless you know them. In America it seems to be that you look them in the eye no matter what. So I have kind of lost the ability to judge how much eye contact is normal with anyone, with girls I just go for minimal.
  4. Edit: If you really think so.
  5. Seriously, what happened to Powerpoint? Or Openoffice.org Impress if you can't afford that. (I certainly can't :P )
  6. I'll keep that in mind. And anyway, if you touch another person nearly at all in Finland, it's considered intrusive. Personal space is very valuable and that value is respected. Yeah, I do the picking lint out of (my) pockets thing. As well as listening attentively and moving towards her. Makes me sound like a stalker.

I hereby announce the award for Best Subliminal Message In a Post: Off Topic. I don't get it...

    Oh hell, that's awful. :(

Well, at least Oreos are easily and readily available where you are, the nearest store that sells them (For about 7 EUR each) is 20 KM from me.
  10. Banned for not promoting trash talk about sites other than Tip.it... We. Are. Awesome. And you know that.

I am not affected by sugar, I can eat a lot without feeling sick or keeping awake. Coffee, however, I am extremely sensitive to for some reason.
  12. I thought I told you little, while posting, lay off the crack man. I like the hard one. I have a problem with the clouds though, they're not even enough to fit in. Some smudging would help.
  13. Yeah, by putting d*cks on their movie covers and sex in their films, subliminaly. I've seen that, someone inside Disney is putting... Uhh, the wrong kind of magic into their movies. :uhh:
  14. If you don't install Ubuntu, yes. That's the idea with live CDs, you just bring one to any computer, slide in the CD, boot it, and the OS adjusts itself to the computer in use and you're good to go. It's a good way to get the feel of the OS.

I really like it, saw it on DA this morning. It's well done, if you want to attract attention to the face I would suggest distorting slightly the other areas.
  16. What's this "Art rage" thing? I've never heard of it. But it's pretty well done, as long as it was meant to be a bit cartoony.
  17. I don't think it will turn into a flame war. I think the OP was saying more, "I don't know much about Linux, why is everyone talking about how good it is?" than "Lol Linux sucks, anyone who says that it's better than Windows is stupid.". EDIT: Let's see, so you downloaded the ISO? Use some CD burning software to burn it to a disk. Next, put it in your drive and restart your computer. Before Windows starts, press F12 until it gives you an option to boot from different devices. Select your CD drive and Ubuntu will boot, I think, or it will give you an option to install. If you have a choice, boot ubuntu and test it out. DO NOT install it unless you know about partitioning and different drive formats and know what you want to do. You would have to think about how much HDD space you want to give Linux.
  18. Cookies could be an issue, but I think making TIF a privacy exception would be fixing that already... I have heard of other problems like this recently, but I haven't had them myself. Something is suspicious... :o

 There's also a chance that there's a typo in the image code. Lots of things could have happened.
  20. Linux. Is. Awesome. I'm typing from Ubuntu Studio right now. Linux boots in 1/5 the time of Windows, though I've done everything I can to slim the boot. It's fast, it's free, you can use quite a few Windows programs on it through WINE, it's secure and doesn't need a security program at all if you keep the OS up to date, it's entirely customizable, the CLI is very user friendly in comparison to DOS. It manages RAM better than windows, or at least so I've heard. If there's something new that you want for Windows, there's probably an open source version for Linux.

I was hoping to see a question about a window manager here...
  22. Seriously, why all the confusion about such a simple thing? Just back up all the stuff that he does want and then format all drives and reinstall Windows (By pressing F12 while the computer is starting up, selecting the CD/DVD drive and letting the CD take you from there). There's nothing complicated about it. I thought of something to say on this line too, but that would be flamebait.
  23. Don't even bother with 2.5.2 unless you have a C compiler readily available and know how to use it. You have to build it yourself from source, and then put it into a windows installer. What you should probably do is save your brushes somewhere else, manually delete all .gimp-2.4 folders in your user account (As well as any other user accounts that may be on your computer) delete the gimp 2 folder in Program files, and generally make sure that there isn't a trace of GIMP left on your computer. (There might me an uninstaller, I wouldn't know I have always needed gimp). Then try reinstalling gimp.
  24. Oops I forgot to say that was for my school. And our school doesn't represent or really come very close to the national average.
