  1. That is interesting that W.O.W. has this feature. It is kind of a shame though, for is Jagex did do this, it would appear that they are copying from W.O.W.
  2. After playing this game for 5 years... this is by far the most original and interesting thought I have read. It's like a light bulb went off. This is why RSC was so great. Everyone was on the same playing field almost (i started in 2003 so ppl were still at lvl 100). It would be very interesting to see how it would play out. I would def. play that instead of the runescape we have. I have always had a competitive nature, and runescape today is losing that competitve nature and I have not been able to figure that out. Smithing at the moment is the only thing keeping me going since it is considered one of the "harder" skills. Excellent.
  3. Wow... I wonder how many people lost their swords.
  4. There is coal... it took me awhile to find though...
  5. No I will not. I had a friend pm asking if I would buy a Red Halloween Mask just so he could wear it... Annoying.
  6. First of all SupportMage is right. I hate you already. 1. Petition's do NOT work. 2. Jagex will not change it back 3. Yeah, I hate not being able to give my friend 1m gp... but am willing to take that instead of having to battle thousands of bots in everyday activities like woodcutting, mining, ect. 4. The reason they took it out is to stop Real World Traders. We have had this discussion ever since the update happened and we have someone complain about it atleast every other day. I know some people dont have the intelligence to understand that taking out the wild and unbalanced trading stopped RWT'ers, but thats just something I have to deal with and try to explain to everyone I meet that complains about the updates. 5. Get over it. EDIT: Even if you did get a lousy 5k people to sign, Jagex could care less. You do realise that there have been over 130m accounts made (I know not that many people play..) but still around 150k people play at one time on runescape most of the time.
  7. [hide=] [/hide] This is why I quit for about 2 months.... I came back with the GE and the wildy being taken away. IMO one the best updates ever. I could not stand competing against macros in almost everything I did.
  8. Well I played on my universities computers for a whole year. Didn't seem to have any problems with them thinking it was someone else. The school I went to was about 3 hours away from where i live.
  9. I am in the middle with this argument. With all the people that play, its nearly impossible to say that nobody shares accounts. So Jagex making this rule hurts the honest player who does not want to break the rules. To be honest, if I had a brother I would absolutly would have shared an account with him. Unfortunately, I do not.
  10. I would advise willows in Draynor Village or in Rimmington. Sell the logs to the store in Rimmington and repeat. I'd say do that until low 90's, if not to 99.
  11. Why must we have another negative thread? Nothing positive, intellectual, or constructive comes from this.
  12. Wish we could have more intelligent stuff to talk about than "Why Do People Whine So Much About It??" If you just sat and thought about it you would have your answer. Most f2p players are complete idoits. They are 10 years siiting aorund saying will you be my bf or gf? I see so many stupid convo's while firemaking it makes me wonder if they play this game for fun or to use it as a chat room to talk about their love life.. I am f2p and deal with them everyday. Can I have this and can I have that? The rewards are trash, unless you play FOG for the fun of it, then its a bonus. And most of the time when I go in, its mostly noobs getting free mage xp. So i get my 1200 charges and go kill my self by entereing portals. (or they leave when they realize what I am doing).
  13. One word: Excellent. I wish we had more guides done like this by the "elite" players. I already knew most of this and am currently firemaking at varrock east bank and almost 97 fming. But I thoroughly enjoy reading a guide that someone has made that actually got a 99 in... let alone 200m xp. Happen to be making any more guides in the near future?
  14. It's ok. 3/10. I am hoping you have another character other than ouchy s b/c why would I want to follow a guide by someone who doesn't have very high stats? Anyways thought id let you know that Varrock west bank has 4 lines to firemake...
  15. I am pulling these statistics out of a hat, but I would say that its 80-85% rarity and 15-20% looks. I think there are more red masks than green. Someone earlier said they didn't think that red was 2x rarer than red. Well according to GE database red isn't 2x more expensive. Another reason I use those stats is look at Phats. Prices are so high b/c there are alot less of those than masks. I personally think the white phat looks better than blue, but thats just my opinion.
  16. I am sorry but that is incorrect. If p2p didn't exist, they wouldn't have the better armour than rune. That would mean demand for rune items would be higher. That would mean I could make more money smithing, which atm is a money drainer. P2P get a rune item as drop and sell in G E for minimum price or a f2per becomes member and sells his rune for minimum so he can buy the nicer p2p armour. This is just one example of how p2p effects f2p.
  17. Thanks, Mr obvious. Who's talking about making it possible to wield two single hand weapons? That wouldn't be balanced aside from how ridiculous it would look to use 2 single hand weapons at the same time. Those are always going to be with shields. Stuff like torags hammers, except useful, is how we'd do this. Well to be honest, there wasn't much to go with when the guy started this topic. All it said should double wielding be allowed... Take a chill pill dude.
  18. Very interesting. My fault for not reading entire thread before posting. Foot-in-mouth disease. However, may I ask where you got this information? I am not saying you, but other runescape members tend to think that runescapewiki is fact, which is obviously not the case.
  19. Over the years, this question comes up every so often. Yes Jagex makes money, its a business! If my memory serves me right, businesses usually make 8-10% profit, which is reasonable in my opinion. (Oil companies only make 8%, while the government makes 15% of each gallon.. ok thats my politics spill) Anyways, Jagex has to pay for their workers, taxes, property, servers, janitors... The list could go on for quite some time. It's not like they are ripping off their members.
  20. By that reasoning, should they also get rid of membership? Becuase I am pretty sure my p2p friends have a huge advantage over me. I have only been member once for one month about 1.5 years ago. Its pretty hard to make money as a f2per. And no this is not a complaint for being f2p. I am just pointing out how pointless his argument is. (No offense... just a friendly argument :) )
  21. Im sorry, but that's life. As some already said, people already with a Broadband connection already have an advantage over dial-up users. Not to be offensive, but this is the same kind of mentality that is in our world today. People are afraid to give others the advantage, so we get comfortable being mediocre and we lose the incentive of doing better. I say bring on the heavy duty updates. I will have an excuse to either stop playing, or get a new computer.
  22. Agreed. However, about five years ago when I was playing in Runescape Classic I was almost brought to tears when I got pk'ed in my first ever set of rune. I was running for my life, and died at level 2 wilderness. That was back in the day when it cost like 250k for rune set and that was pretty hard to get back then. But back to discussion, yes it is extreme. If your that attatched to the game you might want to consider taking a leave of absence.
  23. As already mentioned, things do get old after awhile. This has been an on-going cycle with this game and every other game I have played over the years. People come and go just like in real life. Just because something seems to be getting dull and boring doesn't mean that its Jagex's fault. Just means you need to take a breather and try something else for awhile.
  24. I haven't read though all eight pages of this topic but I did read three. From what I see, most of us agree that the General Exchange has it's flaws. In my opinion, Jagex has changed a capitalist economy into a socialist economy. The "government", which is Jagex, controls everything and this is not good for the people, which happens to be us. This quote doesn't actually correlate to this discussion but I think it fits in with the socialist point of view. A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.---Gerald R. Ford
  25. thats sorta how it was in rsc with sleeping bags.. for some reason JAGEX wont use that technique
