  1. The year old threads were almost all bumped at different times.
  2. inb4 unintentional cannon nerf due to Jagex not understanding how it works
  3. Ontario gives letter grades based on what I said. A is 80%. It really doesn't matter though. I've always thought the letters were pointless.
  4. It's useful everywhere. Seriously. You'll never need food for slayer again. If you're good at flashing, you can save massive amounts of food dging. For some bosses (most), it can be flashed between protection prayers to ensure an extra few kills per trip. In teams, in can reinforce your ability to stay until prayer runs out. Turmoil: Same places really, lol; combat. I simply do not attack things (outside of dungeoneering) without using turmoik anymore. Turmoiling all slayer tasks is worth it, and it is a great boost over piety for bosses. BXP is up to you
  5. I've wanted untradable combat items for years. Don't really care if these are from slayer, or bosses, or whatever. In my opinion this would be the best update to slayer. However, really any new high level monsters with new drops would be nice. I may not think the skill is "rewarding" but I like combat and don't mind training slayer.
  6. BAM: I do not think slayer is rewarding in terms of monetary compensation. In fact, I tend to barely break even. (~200k to 99 slayer)
  7. Maybe in elementary and high school... but even then, the students who do very well in advanced classes are the ones who know how to think. Also lol, any of the difficult (read: math based) post-secondary degrees are all about understanding. Fight the power, man.
  8. Seriously? Until this last year (which didn't affect my college admission) and A was a 94%; now an A- is 90%. I believe grades should be reflected on a numerical scale. The GPA system has flaws that aren't consistent nationwide. I really don't know the differences between US and Canadian grading systems, definitely a lot different though. We don't really ever actually use letter grades, but I was just giving the general conversion (A=80+, B=70-79, C=60-69, etc.) We do everything on a percent scale, which is then converted straight to GPA for anyone looking to go to school in the States. So, what is considered an A doesn't really matter. I've heard there's a lot of inconsistencies with the GPA system though, hence why I much prefer the straight up percentage scale.
  9. I can understand how you feel. Throughout high school I never once received a mark lower than an A- (80%). I also never put any real effort in, didn't do homework if it wasn't being collected for marks, etc. Now, as a second year mechanical engineering student... it's a bit different. It has been really hard adjusting to actually doing work. Average went to a B+ ish after first year... but I definitely struggled in some classes, such as calculus. It's not even that I'm bad at it. I'm really not. I was above the average on every test... but when the average is below 50%, that doesn't mean too much. It's tough because I know I could do better if I did more work... but the workload for me is getting to the point where there is simply not enough time - I have to choose what I'm going to study and what I'm going to end up skipping over and not doing well on. And then there's the consideration of still having some semblance of a social life/free time. In programs like physics and engineering there are a lot of very intelligent individuals, and it can be a bit depressing trying to compare yourself to others all the time. Not really sure what I'm trying to say, but your marks only matter to a certain extent. I'd like to do a master's degree at some point, for which I will need to keep up at least that B+ ish average. Employers tend to use it as a tie-breaker, or as a screen (ex. they look at everyone above a certain GPA), but it isn't the end of the world if you don't have amazing marks.
  10. My understanding is that when you put the armour piece on nothing happens right away, but then your lp will suddenly start to restore like it would when you're hurt up to the nex max. So, essentially nothing happens when you put it on. I think when you take it off you immediately lose any hp over your regular max. The only boost for switching it on and off would be the extra hp from brews, I believe.
  11. I'm assuming it works like the old food glitch, correct me if I'm wrong. What happened was that if you ate food right as you got hit, you could never die.
  12. Lol. That glitch has been going on in some form for years... when will they realize lol...
  13. Well, with discovery of the Rapid Renewal exploit, I would venture to say that Rigour/Piety will be the norm once news spreads about this. Almost guarantee it will be patched. What is the exploit?
  14. To further prove what I said about rapier though, Stokenut did not have a maul. He just meleed with pernix/divine using rapier. Very impressed by the duo, and even with full pernix and divine it was still a very close finish.
  15. Stokenut and Woox16 duoed Nex legitimately.
  16. Best stat for a whip staker is 80 dungeoneering for rapier.
  17. My understanding is that it is based on the type of weapon you're wielding, not the attack bonus... but I guess I could be wrong. I do not understand the sudden trend with betting games... there is no way enough people are willing to put there money into losing odds that all of these "game" hosts are making any profit, not to mention the risk of getting straight up scammed.
  18. This is my best guess.
  19. I hope so. I took slayer helmet as i thought offense is better. I will look out for 44 max hit. I am using Pack yak, so defence is better to have if Slayer helmet don't make big difference. But you say i can hit max 44.5 damage, that's a big difference. I just have not noticed a 44 max hit #-o Yeah, with staff of light, overloads, and full slayer helm I hit well over 50 when maging rex. Pack yak is the best choice since you can bank bones/hides. If you have soul split you're set, but if not then you could bring excalibur or something and still last a pretty long time with a yak full of brews.
  20. Assuming you're just solo maging: I don't know your stats or gear, but defence really shouldn't be an issue while maging rex. Lots of methods to passively heal (or last long enough that it doesn't matter). If you have soul split, you don't even need overhead prayers unless you mess up and get prime on you. Also, the boost given by the slayer helm is +15% magic damage meaning you max hit should go from 39 to 44.85. Maybe you just haven't noticed yourself hit that high yet. IMO slayer helm is the best choice and will also help repel any crashers.
  21. Cancelling 300 times is 9k points, yes, but that is NOT the number of cancels required to do 300 straight tasks of ice strykes. You're assuming that after only one cancel each time your next task will be ice strykes, and that is not true. On average you'll have to cancel many times per each task of ice strykes, and need a ridiculous number of total points to do this. Viv isn't planning to do 300 ice stryke tasks in a row, just get a continous set of ice tasks. My bad - I understand now.
  22. Is maul still being considered the best melee weapon for Nex? Rapier seems pretty good to me, and that's in armadyl. I imagine a void melee setup would favour rapier more, too.

Still don't have one at level 88 - lost track of the spiders by now. Only been in a dungeon once where one was dropped, and someone else grabbed it. That was back when I was like 60 something, before hoods were even the standard 2nd bind.
  25. Melee experience can go to ~180k/hour on slayer during certain tasks. 85k exp/hour is like with a whip, super pots, and no prayer. Overloads/rapier/rigour are a big step up.
