Nex
Sounds like an exaggeration. Unless a serious update has happened (and I doubt it), I can't see how it would be any better than it was before. I went with a guy using magic on the release date and 3/4 of the way through the kill he started hitting Nex with his staff because magic was splashing non-stop.

Were Random events always this generous?
Yes, mazes always have been (if you get 70+%). The key is to click on the map as a door starts to open - you don't need to wait for the door animation to finish.

Nex
Divine is always better than ely in high damage situations :P Yes you use more restores - but at the cost of using more food. You can fit more prayer than food per inv slot, brewing lowers stats, etc. etc. It's pretty good at Nex. Always outlast (and probably outdamage) people who don't use it.

Bonus xp weekend questions
I would look at doing broad arrows (NOT broad bolts). Broad arrows are around 500k exp/hour normally... so pretty darn fast with bonus experience weekend. I did 99 fletching during the last weekend. Don't know what current prices/losses are.

Bonus XP Weekend 11th to 13th March
Eh. Will probably just use it to finish off 99 slayer. Don't have the money or desire to do a buyable.

I just linked it to my hotmail account. You don't need to use a phone number.

Nex
Looks to me like a few of the rich people are jumping on the chance to buy pernix/torva now while prices are low. Hard to tell if prices are going to keep settling lower, or if this is just temporary panic and they will go back up a bit when people stop killing nex as much.

Basic/Welfare Nex Gear...?
Eh, I survive without a ccb (although every other piece of gear/relevant stat is maxed). But really - don't even think about trio. Most efficient teams are 6-15 people. 15 is large, but a well coordinated team will 1 hit the first form with claws which really helps make the kills go nicely. 4-6 man teams could be the future though with quick banking using ceremonial.

Faster Combat Experience...
1) The tiny spiders there are poisonous. 2) Where you using salve amulet on zombie monkeys? Can't see them being slower than the large ones. I was doing a slayer task of living rock creatures earlier and was getting 180k combat experience per hour, but that is of course with the slayer helm. However, it seems to me that the living rock creatures have slightly higher slash defence than stab, so without a rapier I don't think they would be quite as good. EDIT: I will agree that black demons would be a good choice now with effigies. Don't see the point in having a cannon going also if you don't want range experience - however this means slower effigies too.

200M in all Skills
600ms is in no way more accurate than 0.6s. I understand that the exact number may be like 608ms or something. If that's the case, then you'd just have to say 0.608s.

200M in all Skills
How is there a difference between 0.6s and 600ms? That is literally the same thing.

What annoys you the most on RuneScape?
- Broad bolts/arrows
Broad arrows are around 500k fletching experience/hour. So yes, they're great. Wouldn't really recommend broad bolts - pretty slow experience for a LOT of clicking. Adamant+ bolts are at least as good experience as broad arrows, but again, require a lot of clicking and concentration. In terms of speed, addy+ darts are probably the best experience/hour but very expensive.- School
I don't know how I feel about doing research. I'd like to complete a master's degree eventually (in engineering) but I'm not sure if I want to do M. Eng. (coursework based, no research) or M.S (research/thesis based). I'm doing fairly well in school, I just don't know if I can see myself doing independent research or not.- 15-Feb-2011- Skill Bonanza
My conclusion: Don't care about any of the skill updates including prayer. People farming ashes will cut into my slayer spots and annoy me. Normally not so negative, but meh.- Today...
Slept through my first class (by accident), then had to skip my next two classes in order to prepare for a presentation that I had to give for a different class. Eh. Then spent a few hours doing an assignment, and felt great when it was done because for the first time in a while I don't have any work due in the immediate future. Played poker with roommates for a while and lost $5. Now I'm here. My life is so exciting.- Now that i sold my Elysian.
I'd probably go with a spectral since you have a lot of spare cash and are looking for a shield. It's nearly as good as ely in places where you take a lot of mage damage anyway (mainly armadyl, but it's pretty good at other places too.)- How should I use my Dragonkin Lamp?
I've always highly disagreed with using them on buyables, since money is so easy to get compared to experience. Runecrafting is probably the best, although I personally use them on slayer because I have a low rc level (low exp from lamp), and because that is what I'm working on atm. Also, to me the profits made from slayer are negligible if not non-existent.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Jagex has said they don't want to extend the memory limit (which would have to apply to everything in the game) for the very few people overall that actually have that kind of cash. However... it's getting more and more common, and with partyhats and ancient armour pushing over the limit... interesting to see if they will change to 64-bit. If they were to go to 64-bit and extend the limit, the max value would be: ((2^64)/2)-1 =(roughly) 9.22*10^18 = 9220000000000000000 gp. (rounded a lot)- MCAT/PCAT
Also worth noting that all med schools are very different in their acceptance policies. Some put a lot more emphasis on GPA (and as far as I can tell, you should have at least a 3.7 to be competitive - lots of people applying have 4.0). Most have different MCAT requirements (some put a weight on your score, some have a strict cutoff that you only need to get above, some put more emphasis on verbal reasoning, etc.) Essentially - apply to a lot of them. I went to a little presentation on med school acceptance that was given by a med student, and he said that he applied to every school in the province, and got accepted to only one.- The Profanity Filter
inb4 people get banned for swearing, but not in an offensive way. That said, I totally agree that this is a great update, and have been wanting it for years. I'm just concerned that people are going to turn their filter off, and then start reporting everyone they see using a word that would normally get blocked. Knowing Jagex... there will be a lack of communication to the team that looks are reports, and people will start getting muted all over for no real reason.- Your Account Has Been Disabled...
Only accounts banned after that announcement will even get the option, so that won't happen. No one knows the criteria for that anyway.- Your Account Has Been Disabled...
I haven't heard of any strategy so far that works with appeals... still a toss up whether someone even looks at it or not before slapping on an auto-reply and saying too bad. Too bad the "suicide" trick doesn't work anymore. There was a small period where mentioning the word suicide in your appeal would get you unbanned immediately... along with a letter saying that Jagex may be forced to contact the police regarding things like that.- Which will suite my needs better?
The big problem with using CLS at Bandos is it makes you extremely crashable. Rapier + defender will crash CLS + defender every time. You also waste a lot of prayer by taking MUCH longer to kill the minions with CLS. AND I've never seen any video that convinced me that CLS is actually any better at all for Bandos than rapier- they 0 streak just as often as my rapier does with divine. That's just, subjectively, how it feels to me. I agree that rapier is better with defender, and that minion kills are faster. Hard to tell overall. Also easier to SS flash on Graar with cls than rapier too.- Just the opposite
But... wasn't this the way it was even when free trade was not present? Getting 3 Visages in 1 hour at Frost Dragons. Getting a Torva Platebody on the first day at Nex. 76Ker getting back-to-back Ancient Statuettes, or Dragon Full Helms before the ordinary drops were replaced. Even sniping a Divine Sigil off the GE. Still a big difference between getting a rare drop that takes hundreds of hours on average to get, and having a 50/50 chance of making as much as you're willing to risk in minutes. Even getting lucky with rare drops involves doing a regular money making method to start with, with the added chance of getting lucky. When you stake, you're deciding what you put on the line, and you KNOW that you have a 50/50 chance of winning big. - Broad bolts/arrows
