  1. Let me start by saying that I already owned a torso prior to this update, and that I play Barb Assault ALOT. I think the new stats were fine, and I really can't believe they're going to put the strength bonus back. It makes me sad. I really liked the idea of decent defensive stats with a nice set bonus. Sure the set bonus doesn't have much use, but it is a static set effect on a set of armour that doesn't degrade or go away when you die, which is rare for minigames when you look at Stealing Creation or Fist of Guthix.
  2. Well then, looks like I need to get my agility up to start catching some of those guys. The hunter exp looks extremely promising(Though chins and grenwalls are amazing profit...). And Barb assault update=win! I'm as good as a master at this game, with lvl 5 healing and defender, plue like lvl 3 or 4 attack. I don't level collector now cause it's useless, but before I made that decision, I think I leveled to 3. I sometimes randomly play barb assault just for fun and high gambled the points, now I can do it and charge the horn for double agility exp! (Which will come in handy on my way to 80 to catch black warlocks for amazing hunter exp!) Did the point system change, or did they really change high gamble to just 30 points compared to the old 500?
  3. It can be logically proven. Anything I, you, or anyone else for that matter does, has (at times along with none egoistical reasons) (an) egoistical reason(s) behind it. I disagree. It cannot be logically proven, nor do I believe it to be true. I know that most often puts me in the minority, but it is what I believe. Try to pose an example in which a person (could be you, could be someone else) does something, that you thank has 0 egoistical motives, and I'll prove you wrong. The reason I'm so confident in my ability to do that is not because I'm arrogant, but because I know for a fact that there is no such thing. You can't prove me wrong because no one has access to everyone's motives for anything. Sure you could make up a possible egotistical motive for anything that anyone would do, but that does not mean that that motive applies.

I don't think LOTR had quite as many beheadings... But yeah, the violence was used well, it's just not my cup of tea.

I saw it the other day and it was pretty good. A little excessively violent for my taste, but then again I tend to be quite the pacifist. I liked the religous messages present, though I think that many none religious people would see them in a very negative light.
  7. Well that's quite cynical.
  8. Strangely enough, his voice and the background beat/music are very calming to me.
  9. Not that I want to get involved in this, but the Freedom of religion clause was intended to prevent the government from forcing a certain state religion down everyone's throat, not to separate it from certain guiding principles that may stem from a particular religion. Besides, there wasn't that much religious diversity (especially in the US) back then outside of different denominations of Christianity and perhaps a few atheists. Anyway, I could care less what the state says about "marriage." I'm getting married in a church under the eyes of God(or so to speak, for those of you who believe (or rather don't believe) otherwise), I could care less whether the state says I'm married to a person or not. So should it be for gays and straights alike. Live and let live, ya know.
  10. That's stretching it, as all the capital letters (including the ones at the beginning of the sentences) spell out "Grandmaster," which makes a lot of sense, considering it is most likely aluding to the culmination of the MotM Questline, a perfect place for a GRANDMASTER quest to take place.
  11. Okay, so there's a plot for the whole like 10 minutes you spend actually interacting with Nomad. Up until that point? Oh, Nomad's doing something, let's find out by destroying these guarded machines by solving random puzzles and fighting a monster with lots of HP. What we're saying when we say there was no plot to this quest is that there wasn't much for motivating factors through the entire quest, and you only find out anything's going on at the very end of the quest when Nomad very directly tells you. A better plot would have revealed what Nomad had to say gradually as you worked your way toward him through realizations after solving a puzzle related to it. Or there could at least have been alterior (false) means to motivate you where you find out you've been wrong all along when you reach Nomad. Plot should have structure, be built up gradually, not just spewed out all at once with no buildup whatsoever.
  12. So, unfortunately I can't take credit for this, but the RSOF figured out that the letter shift from Chaos Elemental can be applied to the last clue to get: The pieces are black and white; like good mysteries they come in fours. But the game is void; there are no Grandmasters here. A temple may sit between the pieces.
  13. Well, I've got the last line figured out. Chaos Elemental Letter shift increasing by one as you go accross the word, starting at zero. Unfortunately doesn't work (yet) for the rest of the letter.
  14. Gees, DZI, take a chill pill. I don't think this quest was worthy of GM status, neither does MHL or some others, simple as that. I do disagree with MHL that the boss fight is too hard, however. Even with my low stats, the only thing holding me back at the moment is running out of food, and I haven't even tried brews, let alone raised my summoning a few levels to get a war tort. If I were hitting lots of zeros, or getting KOed with lots of food left, then I might think he was too hard, but I don't. I am therefore left with no reason to really call this quest GM.
  15. Well, I just saw the first person I've seen or heard of under 110 to complete it. He was lv 108 and was showing off his quest cape at the GE. Said he used war Tort filled with brews, 14 restores in inv, rest brews.
  16. I lol'ed. Also on a more serious note, I almost feel as if my intelligence is dropping by reading this thread. Also, this thread seems to reappear every few months, and it's almost always the same. Unfortunately, however, I feel compelled to participate. :twss: Well, the thing that really drew me into my first (and only) girlfriend was the fact that she was (and really still is) the only person I can look in the eye and not feel nervous or compelled to look away from, though we're not going out anymore. That and I was just plain comfortable around her, like no one else I've ever met. Replying in direct answer to the topic title: My favorite thing about women is that I find I am far more comfortable in their company than I am with those of my own gender, and I really appreciate that. I was going to say more, but I think I'll leave my thoughts to wander on those two very fond memories.
  17. I must, unfortunately, agree. I've gotten him to almost half health with my poor stats using just rocktails and a super set. Well, maybe not dumb, just completely inept at learning his moves. On a more positive note, this guy is actually quite fun to fight, even if I'm just wasting money on rocktails at this point. I think part of it is that I can rush in there and not worry about losing anything except food supplies, so there isn't any nervousness about failing, raising my (mental) combat skills by about 10-fold.
  18. I'm working on it. Me too. Just did test run with rocktail inventory +Terrorbird. So far he doesn't look that terrible. Just get my healing right and I might be able to do it. The only limiting factor at the moment for me is running out of food, I've been in no danger of dying otherwise. Might try brews + restores next, if that fails I'll have to get a few more summoning lvls to get tort.
  19. I view "marriage" in two separate lights: The religious sense and the legal sense. The legal sense is all that matters to the federal courts, and I believe that gay marriage should be legally possible. After all, all it really does is provide two individuals with certain tax benefits because they choose to commit to live their lives together. In the religious sense is where the "one man, one woman" thing comes up. I must say that when it comes right down to it, this is what I believe. However, in the legal world, I fully support the right of a gay couple to get a marriage license and all the benefits that go with it. Anything else would just be silly because the legal institution of marriage serves no real purpose.
  20. That's just sick and wrong. Sick...and...wrong... Anywho, on a side note I think I'm gonna try this with black dhide and zammy spear, with rocktails and a super set. I may even give it a try with only a terrorbird, just to see if I can.(And cause I have a few more summoning lvls before tort.) I'm not likely to suceed, as I'm pretty horrible when it comes to combat, though I do tend to have a tiny bit of luck when it comes to not dying easily. To the above post: I'm guessing it has something to do with calling down holy power to protect you. The gods intervening to protect their warrior and whatnot. Or perhaps it's unholy smoke, and you need holy power to protect you. The soul obelisk is a fairly sacred ground, what with all the souls that go through it.
  21. For once, I must agree with MHL. This should be master, not grandmaster. Sure the boss is hard, but that's about it. Think back and remember the scale of WGS. This is nowhere near that. Think of it this way. A quest's rating should likely consider many different factors, for example: Length: Requirements to start/complete, and whether or not they can be potted: Puzzle difficulty(if any): Storyline depth: Fights: Comparing the two current Grandmaster quests on a 1-10 scale, I would give these ratings(based on my experience) May contain SPOILERS: WGS Length: 9 Requirements:8(large number of required quests as well as 270 quest points. Decent skill requirements, but requirements can be potted.) Puzzle difficultly: 9 I'm not sure I would have figured out the weight balancing portion without help Storyline depth: 10 Easily the most in-depth story telling of just about anything in runescape. Fights: 7 Difficult, but do-able even at my low levels (which were much lower when I did the quest.) Nomad's Requiem: Length: 5 Longer than many, but I'm not even sure it deserves a 5 Requirements: 7 Oh no, I have to do a game of Soul Wars, how will I ever survive? Storyline depth: 4 Really there was nothing to this at all. Oh, the nomad built the obelisk in order to get strong? Who would have ever guessed... Fights: 10 Yes, we get it already, the boss fight was really, really hard. That doesn't make up for the rest of it being so easy. So again, I actually agree with MHL for once. Master, not Grandmaster.
  22. [hide]Looking back at your previous posts, I think I understand. Quick question to be sure: Are you still in the second puzzle area? That is, have you only killed one machine so far? If so, the avatar doesn't appear in that room. You said you solved the water puzzle and the machine is still working in that area? Then you probably didn't solve the water puzzle. You need all three lines flowing into the machine.[/hide]
  23. [hide]You don't seem to be missing anything, unless I missed something as well. He's quite annoying. You can either let him heal 3 times(the max he can) or be constantly on the look out for the roots. I suggest letting him heal once then pinning him in the corner that the root sprung up. I don't think it will appear in the same place twice, so when he starts to move from the corner you can run to the vine before he gets to it. Hopefully that helps.[/hide]
  24. I'm not sure I even want to attempt taking him on with my stats. Oh well, gotta try sometime I guess. A question for high lvl summoning people: [hide]Has anyone tried taking a high lvl fighting familiar to the battle instead of a BoB? I thought I saw a multi-combat icon in the vids. I know the BoB seems almost necessary, but it might be worth a try?[/hide]
  25. You'll see them when the time is right, and congratulations Sunli [hide]I killed the eletric elemental thingy and the line from that room stopped glowing. and I solved the Water flowing puzzle and the machine is still working... looked all around that room yet I saw noo roots[/hide] Did I miss something? <_< [hide]Follow the brown vines on the floor to the back part of the room.[/hide]
