Creepy. I hate when my IRL friends look at my internets. They still tease me about going on this "RuneScape" forum and secretly read all my posts like bottom-feeding leeches. Yes Jordan, I know you are reading this. I have a friend who said she'd do that. I thinks he was joking, though. If not, my posts on the relationship thread have screwed me over. Yeah, I'm just lucky enough that none of my IRL friends are observant enough to/care enough to figure out my online identity. Though funilly enough, after just checking, it wouldn't do them much good. Only two of the top ten results are actually me, one being my forum profile for this site (8th result), the other being my NaNoWriMo (1st result) profile, which contains absolutely zero compromising information. As for today, I planned on going to the dentist this afternoon for a walk in appointment, so I was gonna get there early for the opening of their afternoon session, but instead I woke up at 8 am, decided it was too early to get up, went back to sleep and was out until almost 12:30, at which point It would have been about 1:30 before I got there, much too late to have a hope of getting a walk-in without waiting like 2+ hours. On the brighter side, I saw Sherlock Holmes about an hour ago. Good show, but I almost rather they didn't open up another series possibility.

Finally saw it tonight in 3D. It was amazing, and I'm not even sure why. The plot wasn't very original (Can you say "Ferngully?"), but it played out nicely with the characters. I couldn't keep the fact that the plot was so similar to Ferngully out of head the whole time, it was kind of annoying, but otherwise the film was amazing. First of all, I'm not saying all or even most drunk sex is rape, I'm saying it can be. Second, I don't really know how to argue against that thought wave effectively, but I've contacted someone who does. Hopefully he'll have an adequate response to offer, even if you still end up believing what you do, which I'm sure you will, but at least an alternative argument will be present.

That's not a rule, and I wouldn't run by it if you want to be guaranteed not to be prosecuted for rape. Just because you're both drunk doesn't excuse anyone of responsibility. This is just an issue my best friend puts a lot of work into as a self-proclaimed feminist (He's a guy.). It's also something that my campus tries to get across to people frequently. They ran a campaign earlier this year around the idea of "Got consent?" trying to get people to always get a (sober) yes for sex.

No, it's not technically a "nerf," but it happened, and was something the player's enjoyed and could by many be considered an update because it's harmless and cool looking, and could therefore be "nerfed." Your ignorance is astounding. Nerfing is a mature MMO term used since the days of Everquest. Nerfing means to make something less viable. It is the opposite of the word buff - which means to make something more viable. For example, if Jagex decided to make melee combat do less damage in order to balance the combat triangle, then that would mean that melee got nerfed. Please know what you are talking about before you emberass yourself like the rest of the Runescape kids. Lol, I'm just trying to point out the fact that you're taking it so freaking seriously when the term derives its name from a toy brand. It works. Just don't panic and pull back at all, otherwise you'll get a mouth full of blood and won't be able to taste much for a while. And yes, this is speaking from personal experience. (Hey, I was six, cut me some slack.) I know the breath thing works because I've had friends who've managed to do it, and even I might have done it, I can't remember.

Dan, I've disagreed with you on this point before. We aren't all "gaming." Trust me. Gaming is a term that's used by you and others to describe your active pursuits of women. When I interact with women, I'm not doing it consciously, you, it seems like, for the most part are. Girls wear high heels and miniskirts because our society places the emphasis on beauty, with beauty being defined as wearing high heels and miniskirts. Sure women make a conscious effort to wear these items, but only because our society convinces them that they need to. And whether it does or not (and my personal opinion is that it is), "gaming" comes across as very objectifying of women. Take the very name for it: "gaming." Something done purely for pleasure, often not taken seriously or with any stake at all. You may say the name is meaningless, but no word or term is ever meaningless. The game basically takes all women and clumps them together in one inescapable category to which they all belong and most definitely have all of these attributes, so this is how you should treat them to get them to cooperate with whatever you want them to do. Sounds a bit like manipulation to me, and personally I'm not okay with that. Yes, we do it subconsciously all the time, but there is a big difference between subconsciously manipulating someone and consciously doing so. Intent and morality exist and interact in both situations. I realize you disagree with everything I just said, and it's quite fruitless to argue with someone over the internet, but I have to make my side known whenever the question comes up.

I agree perfectly with everything in your post. And oneitis for the most part pertains to someone who is so focused on a single girl/boy that he/she is too paralyzed by that person's apparent perfection to actually do anything about it. Normally it refers to a sort of obsession, and that goes beyond healthy relationship. At least that's how I view it.

Yeah. There's not a whole lot you can do in this situation. There's basically no way to get the girl, and definitely the best way to get over her is to find another girl. If that's not an immediate option, I'd try finding flaws in the existing girl. It's hard, as in crush mode people tend to idealize the girl they like, making it hard to find flaws, but start small, they're there. Think of times you've disagreed with her about something, or she's done something you don't like, or something like that. It takes time, but it definitely reduces crush symptoms, of which you have plenty. But, like I and RPG have already said, the best answer is probably to find another girl or something. I sincerely doubt that you can actually end up being with her at this point. If you're in the obsession stage, it only makes it harder to actually approach her about it. That is your other option, however. Be honest. Talk to her about it, basically tell her how you feel, expect rejection. In fact, I would recommend almost asking for it. Some girls like giving "I'll think about it" answers in those situations, but those are almost always false hopes. They don't want to hurt your feelings, but it really only ends up hurting you more. Basically, if you go with this option, simply be like "Hey, this is how I feel. I understand you probably don't feel this way, but I needed to get it off my chest. If you don't feel that way, let me hear it from you straight so I can start to get over you. It'll save me a lot of trouble if you be honest with me without trying not to hurt me." Personally, however, I'm a conflict avoidance person, so I'd go with either the "gftog" (as it's so crudely put on this thread) option or the self-help method of fixating on flaws rather than perfection.

So travel wasn't nearly as bad as expected, though I was quite optimistic about my chances of making it here anyway. I have, however, seen enough white to last me at least a week. (AKA, It was white all around me while driving, snow on the ground, snow blowing, white fog everywhere, white sky, and all of it just about the same tone of white too, making it fun to try and remember where the ground ended and the sky began.)

So I'm looking for a little help on getting my inventory/equipment right for taking down the Queen at the end. I've been able to get her down to about half health, but not any more than that with Granite platebody, black d'hide legs, lunar helm, lunar cape, and barrows gloves as my basic setup, but I am willing to invest if someone thinks it would give me enough edge to take her down. My stats are in my sig, not great, but meh...

Exactly what I was thinking, on both counts. It sounds like the kind of film my best mate would want to see, I should check with him this afternoon. So... I tried going tonight, as it might have been my only chance to see it in 3D, and definitely my only chance to see it in iMax, but the next four shows (2 in iMax, 2 in plain 3D) were sold out. So, now I'm back here... Ah well, try again when I get home in a few days. And I was looking forward to actually watching an iMax movie for once, still haven't been to one...

Today I as good as finished my finals. Got an 8am Saturday final tomorrow ( :evil: ) but it's as good as aced. I expect it to be the easiest final I will ever take in my life. In case you're interested, it's for a class called "Research in Psychology I," a class on basic statistical procedures used in psychology as well as some basic info about writing psych reports. Did I mention I'm considering majoring in math and took AP Stats in high school? Anyway, I'm just gonna chill tonight. Not much going on around campus, everyone's being boring and studying for finals or something, what's that all about? :razz:

:shock: Are we talking about the same length of a mile here? I'm no athlete here, but a 5 minute mile was something most people in my PE classes in high school wouldn't think of accomplishing. 6-7 minutes was a decent average. Also, a 5 minute mile is much more easily accomplished than 5 miles in 25 minutes. I don't mean to be starting anything, I'm just presenting my experience.

Wait until your in college/uni kid. I felt the same way about finals on HS, but learning the amount of info covered is just obscene, and not all of it is review in class. Ive pulled 2 all nighters studying (Applied Matrix Algebra and Macroeconomics) Lies. I have yet to study for any one test for more than one hour. Two, tops. Meh my Matrix class was quite challenging, and well I couldnt understand my Macroeconomics teach ever Yeah, matrices aren't the easiest things in the world. Can't say anything about economics however. Today: I should be writing my research paper for my Endangered/Minority languages classes(10-12 pages, due Friday, done hardly anything on it; Not too terrible, but not the best of situations to be in.). I'll get to it, right after I go to my Cognitive Psych class to figure out what I need to look over using the hour or so I'll study for the final.
