I've always found the concept behind herblore to be a bit flawed. I don't get how making low level potions somehow gives you the knowledge of how to high level ones. Therefore, i hope jagex doesn't add any new potions. I've always found the concept behind woodcutting to be a bit flawed. OT, i hope they bring higher level slayer monsters out :ohnoes: ... but intime for when i'm the level to fight them ;) I agree. It's the same for every skill. And like I just said on another thread - Runescape is supposed to be fun, not realistic.

Runescape is supposed to be fun - not realistic. People in real life don't have too many pets because they simply cannot handle the financing and pampering of several animals at a time. Plus, there is no limit on the amount of pets someone can own in real life.

Smithing. I'm really not looking forward to training that the whole way to 99. Plus it loses cash. :?

I'd make a skill called Speed and the higher you raised it, the faster you would attack (or shoot arrows/magic). Basically it is your rate of attack. Level 1 would be about half as slow as we currently attack each other, 50 would be the same as we attack now, 99 would be about twice as fast as we attack now. Imagine fights twice the speed. 8-)

43 Prayer can be gotten from level 1 in under 30 mins at a gilded altar. 99 Str is months/years 43 pray =/= 99 str... Also to the topic maker, using prayer is a noobish thing to do as it wastes time. Don't be an idiot and use a glowing icon above your head, just do the fight without overhead pray, get it over with, and move on for gods' sake. We can't just assume everyone who uses Protect from Melee is only 43 Prayer though, now can we? Oh and you can also not and wear armor, just do the fight without anything on, get it over with, and move on for god's sake. It wastes time. PS: I love it when people ignore the wealth obtaining aspect of the buyable skills. How convenient.

Is is useless because... you have to spend lots of money to level it up (despite the advantages the skill gives)? In that sense, Crafting, Smithing, Herblore, Prayer, Summoning, Farming, Magic, Ranged, Firemaking, Cooking, and Fletching are all "useless", because - despite the advantages they give - they cost you money to train. When you come down to it, every skill is "useless" because Runescape is "useless".

By that logic, doesn't armor and Defence also make the fight slower?

A knife is a weapon. Knives have been used for years upon years as tools to help us with cooking, skinning, making other tools, protection, and the works. You can't tell me that nothing good ever came from the same things we murder each other with. Also, drugs have very beneficial medical factors attached to them. Getting high isn't the only purpose drugs have. My main point was that it's not sex that's bad - it's people themselves who make it into a bad thing. Animals have sex all the time but without the same consequences that humans encounter when they do it. There's a bright side to sex too. It helps keep our species going and it's a great way to show your affection to your love partner. Just because there are negative aspects about sex when it is abused that doesn't mean it's "the root of everything bad".

^^ Good point, and since RS is a video game it is appropriate. Anyways, I agree with the ranter. It's really hard to be a perfectionist and play RS at the same time though. That's how I feel about the holiday events that I missed out on.

I don't think it's the sex that's bad - it's how people handle it. Think of weapons, drugs, and money. These things can all lead to positive outcomes but unfortunately people abuse them all the time and cause problems to arise. Unless you're talking about it in the Freudian sense that is. :lol:

An advantage is an advantage. I think it's a double standard to disallow people from using advantages while you are clearly doing so too. Unless they take off all their armor and kick their enemy, I don't think they have much room to talk.

Calm down, it's nothing more than a hypothesis. I'm not trying to point out how I think things work around here (because honestly, I have no clue) - I'm just talking about the possibilities. The theory of the big bang and evolution started off as speculations. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to give that sort of credit to my hypothesis but I don't see it as something that would totally surprise me. What harm does speculation cause? I mean are there any better ideas of why you think God would send that message?

In the context of murder, that's understandable. Animals kill each other all the time but they do so because they have no understanding of morality. The point behind cognitive thinking is to solve problems. Humans can make the choice not to murder because we understand that it is a problem that should be solved (by not murdering). That doesn't hold true for homosexuality though. Nothing points to homosexuality being a problem other than bogus procreation arguments.

Why? Everything has potential problems attached to them. Of course there are even some things that are stimuli and reduce your stress - but my point was that the more complex your life is, the more stressed out you will probably be.
