  1. I log in to my computer today, to try to find a refill for my pen (redundant). I want to use Firefox, so I click on my little Quick Launch button (running Windows XP) and get this lovely error box thing: Okay, I say, so I open up Task Manager and find that Firefox only shows up as an application when the error box is up: And when I close the error box, it also disappears from the processes tab: Since it suggested to restart your system, I did and had the same issues. How can I fix this without having to uninstall it? I don't know why it's happening either, which is not helpful.

I spent the whole day at the racetrack, racing electric cars. Was quite fun, I didn't drive and got sunburned though. Didn't have to go to school (yay) and got new glasses (waiting like a week for the lenses and such though). This is the first time I've actually been told I'm getting transitions (love them) and polycarbonate lenses, as well as glare reduction. All the past glasses I've had have had sucky scratch resistance and awful glare; this is a new place so hopefully they'll be better. My blood sugar is also low right now. So I keep having typos and possibly odd sentence structure. Plus I haven't looked at my Calculus homework yet... :???:
  3. Downloaded them, looking forward to using them, they look quite nice.
  4. I have never found English class or History class useful, because I'm a grammar nazi who watches the history channel. My science classes were fun because I've learned reasons behind things (like grain elevator explosions and polarized sunglasses). Math is never fun, but I believe it's actually useful, even if it's only useful because it teaches you how to think (geometry sucks though). Only reason I ever enjoy math/physics/science is because my teachers are good and I like them. Plus they don't care if you ask really random questions about things. Or do weird math in class. My school seems only to focus on football, and our team sucks. I like the band (even though they're not great) much better and I think our soccer teams especially deserve credit. Our school recently bought netbooks for all the jr. high students, and this year they've also given them to the freshmen and sophomores. NOT THE JUNIORS OR SENIORS who are going out into the world next and are more likely to be responsible anyway, but to the 11 and 12 year olds who are going to break, drop, lose, do stupid things on them. And now since we have mixed classes of kids (ie juniors, seniors, and sophs in one class) the teacher can't even make use of them. And they're going to phase out the actual computer labs so those of us who won't get netbooks can't do any work at school. Plus they got rid of my beloved German program. So I pretty much hate them. So really I believe the administration [of the school district] is COMPLETELY at fault for pretty much every problem I've ever had. Plus the tech department sucks and we can't do anything with the computers. Can't even use Google or Bing, which are both default search providers in the school. I could run the tech department better than they can.
  5. Finishing up DOS 5.0 in computer repair class. Not really a project, nor coding, but I felt like posting in this thread. At some point I will need to learn C++ to program some motor controller thingummywhats. I've got a book, and I should read more of it.

If I shut the computer down but leave the power strip it's plugged into on, it loses the time. I will look in the BIOS again and see if it tells me anything under settings and such. I don't think it does, but I haven't spend much time mucking about in the BIOS.
  7. Yeah. Is there an easy way (without opening the computer) to see if it's dead? I'm pretty sure it is, as when I restart the comp the time is reset and whack. If I go into the BIOS and fix it it still ends up wrong next time I turn it on. It's a Dell GPX something I think. A desktop, not a tower though, running XP. I dunno if it could have gotten jostled out of place or something, the computer is only 2-3 years old.
  8. :P Mmkay. You all probably remember me. I'm the girl who wants a boyfriend and is desperate enough to come ask you. My situation has changed a bit and I shall now elaborate. Homecoming was last Saturday. The guy I like broke up with his former girlfriend over the summer sometime, but really didn't want to go to homecoming with anybody. He didn't [but he went to homecoming]. I would like to ask him to go to Swirl (spring dance) with me, but that's not until March-ish. Plus, we're both on Student Council, and student council puts on all the dances but Homecoming/Prom. Swirl is the next 'formal' so y'know you actually get a date for that. I haven't gone to any formals before (I'm a junior) /random fact. Thing is, there's a girl who likes him (at least I think) that he sometimes gives a ride to school/zero hour jazz band (that I'm also in) and I dunno how he feels about her. I'm pretty sure if she asked he'd go out with her, he doesn't like making people not happy. She's kind of a guy-mongerer (? I want to say [bleep] but not really but sort of ?) and has had a relationship with one of my other friends before. I'm still friends with the two girls he's dated before, he's friends with one of them (I'm sure after a while he'll be friends with the newest 'ex' too though.) So yeah. I dunno if you can give me any advice on this (or what do I even want? :S ). I have lunch with him once out of every three days. And zero hour jazz band and student council. (
  9. Girl in a T-Shirt - ZZ Top Now: Walkin' on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves Haven't gotten fire.fm on this computer yet... listening to some random stuff, including 99 Luftballoons!
  10. Paper Mario is one of my favorite game series ever. But I could never figure out Luigi's Mansion. :/
  11. Your musical compatibility with AngelCrusher is Very Low Music you have in common includes Sabrepulse, Muse, Herbie Hancock, Placebo and Eurythmics.
  12. My favorite teacher is/was my physics teacher too. (He's now my computer repair/engineering teacher) I think it's important to understand more than just the subject, and be involved in school (he runs ski club and electrathon too) and be willing to share that knowledge. (he knows why polarized sunglasses make car window tinting look weird, and now I do too!) Personally I like blunt teachers who aren't afraid to tell you you're plain wrong, but tell you how to fix it too. Putting the information you need to know right out there and then leaving it up to you to take notes or not is setting you up to succeed; you can only fail in his class if you don't pay attention or take notes.

What book comes after The Red Pyramid?... Still haven't gotten to the newest book in the Nicholas Flamel/Alchemyst series. Don't remember what it's called. Anybody read Mockingjay (last book in the Hunger Games trilogy) yet? Did you like it? I has a book club meeting on Monday. We has a theme for the year, 'Classics'. I is quite excited.

I just ate a bowl of sauerkraut mixed with a turkey bratwurst (chopped up). It was pretty amazing.
  15. Full time student, junior in HS. Probably going to become an engineer of some sort.

To be honest, the Arizona law is actually an extension of an already existing federal law that is not being properly enforced by the feds, so the Arizonians (?) got fed up and made their own law so their law enforcement could enforce it.
  22. I got another one, to all staff: What's your favorite sport, or are we all stereotypical geeks/nerds with no athletic prowess?
  23. Du Explodierst - Revolverheld
  24. My brother plays a Sliver deck, and has a green deck too I believe. I love the art on the cards but I've never bought any, I'm pretty good considering I don't own my own deck (beat my bro a couple times with a not-really-deck deck).
