  1. My only thoughts on the broom is that it should be a staff ie auto-cast spells and for p2p have teleports to said echanted areas (underground pass, slayer tower, pollivenich, and lunar isle). I actually thought that the broom would teleport to all of these places! Oh well, the sweep emote goes great with my witch costume though :

That's because even people in WoW actually know how to spell and be mature (sometimes) But yes, sadly pvp is the magnet for such petty insults. Then again, it's hard to call someone a nerd when they have ice barrage and you don't ;)

1st: I never said you couldn't skill or you're not supposed to skill on pvp worlds; feel free to do so. My point is that when you log into a world that clearly states that this world is meant for pvp because it is made as such, only the naive would EXPECT everybody to NOT kill. 2nd: To hell with Zamorak and all of his followers; I fulfill Master Guthix's wish of balance by causing chaos to your otherwise orderly skilling. Also, [sarcasm][/sarcasm] on the post you quoted me. edit: Jagex also WANTS people to skill in pvp worlds while also accepting the risk. Why do you think that brawler gloves are only obtainable from pvp and are untradeable? Why do you think Jagex said there was risk when the Abyss first came out? If you've ever read the Melian Dialogue concerning Athens and Melos, skillers vs. pkers fall directly into the context: "The strong dominate the Weak...the strong do what they can and the weak do what they must." If there's one thing that I hate in this world is politics, and making diplomacy with skillers for no practical reason isn't my cup of tea. Besides, skillers have dropped good rewards before, why stop killing them?

Just because they are Player Versus Player Worlds, it does not mean they are pking worlds. Pvp = pking, dangerous or not Yes, they bother me with their existence so much, that I am forced to attack them because I am pvping in a pvp world. When the defenders of the honor code actually come up with a reason NOT to kill skillers on pvp worlds, I will lend my dragon axe for 24 hours for free to that person.
  5. You've basically answered your own argument. You want a high lvl drop for a LOW level character. Even if your pure is lvl 80 range, I dare say that my 76 range and 86 defense character is more powerful. Despite what Gower says how he "doesn't mind" that players make pures instead of well-rounded characters, the part of the formula that says "must stay outside of safe spots" to get a better drop hints that he favors "mains" more than pures. In conclusion: Andrew G. doesn't hate pures; he just likes well-rounded players more  Also, the "you limit yourself" argument still applies here.
  6. Well, if you put, let's say a death limit of 10 every 1 hour, that means someone can die 10 times in 6 minutes and have 54 minutes of threat free training on a pvp world, assuming that after 10 deaths you could not enter combat with a player. A more refined version would be that you couldn't attack but you could BE attacked. I could just see them flocking to me, trying to attack me but then realize that their 1 iteming efforts are in vain as I raid their carcasses of mithril armor and defense potions.
  7. You could always try to join a clan and ko like that, quite effective that way
  8. Meh, the day when a quest comes out that requires 80 herblore, 90 smithing, 80 slayer, 75 runecrafting, and 80 summoning is the day when quest capes will be looked upon with high regard.

Such confusions give bad reputations, but don't worry, I'm sure he'll forgive you \
  10. Now, you are smarter, more humble, and more powerful. Read a guide and bring the RIGHT equipment (not necessarily better equipment ;) )
  11. fenrir321 replied to Tim's topic in Rants
He means that if you collect all of the acrobat clothing, it would be nice to get the AUDIENCE clothing instead of nothing. I find it funny that he won't pay us in audience boots for good performances after getting the relevant rewards, yet he berates you for getting the audience clothes in the first place. Sheesh, I'd also like to get at least SOMETHING, even if it is only 5k cash, something is better than nothing.

Read about the term "Real Politik" and you'll understand why attacking skillers should be more widespread. Of course, it depends on the goal. If you want fun and thrill, killing an unarmed opponent won't do that. If you want rewards and can't do it while killing armed opponents, then kill skillers. It's quite simple really. Is it "moral" to do what the world is meant for? Why SHOULD someone spare a skiller? Last time I checked, you can get some good cash off of mage tree cutters... Who really cares that these people would trash talk? Those people don't know you and won't know you ever most likely. It's a game. They take a risk by entering a pvp world. I'm sure that Jagex would say that expected not to be attacked on a pvp world is expecting to get a dragon chainbody from a dust devil. It's possible but highly unlikely. Of course, you said just that in the last half of your post, but I just wanted to restate it \ If we lived in a world without politics, the world would be so much nicer, but then we wouldn't be human
  13. Wow, I actually agree with you for once lol. 1 items are the worst thing ever. Of course, why not fight fire with fire? That should be fun when you both are the undead and you both have shot guns : . And if you want more reward, try assassinating. there are some people who are foolish enough to travel long distances from a bank. Teleblock and entangle are very helpful in this circumstance.
  14. Well, you'd have to define "death" of soul. A person who is in a vegetative state can be considered dead because what makes them human is no longer living. A person who is dying of cancer is still alive in every sense unless the person has brain cancer is also in a vegetative state. As I said above, Euthanasia in my opinion is wrong only because it drags another person into it and is technically murder; if a person wishes to die, then they must go through it on their own. To the "deadly" disease thing, my mom sees bunches of people at the hospital who are sick. Some of them could be considered "inevitably dead". But those "6 months to live" are about as right as they are wrong. And besides that, wouldn't the person want to enjoy their last days instead of fill them with despair? I'd rather go to Six Flags and die from a heart attack three weeks later than go into my room and shoot my brain in one day. Then again, I'm speaking from my opinion.
  15. Suicide, in my opinion, is up to the person. Its really their issue. I'll try to stop them, but I won't risk my life to save the life a person who would most likely kill themselves despite my sacrifice. The real question would be why would the person NEED assistance in suicide? That's quite arrogant to think that their are "worthy" or "important" enough to put blood on another's hands. Assisted suicide really shouldn't exist since technically it is murder. If the suicider wants to die, they should do so on their own. edit: Do Catholics use medicine? Determining when someone lives or dies is exactly what you do when you take antibiotics/cancer treatments, etc. OOH! I'm Catholic! \ Yes, Catholics use medicine because God put the plants there for us to use. But saying that medicines are "damnable" because they prolong life and therefore play God is as equally arguable that refusing medicines to shorten your life is also playing God. If both are damnable, then take the lesser of two evils and choose a longer life to make better medicine ;)
  16. It would be difficult to moderate this privilege. For example, player A is fighting player B. Both are in the multicombat wild. Revs crash the duel. In that case, does the dead player(s) lose(s) his items? Too hard to tell. Second, players could also use the dueling system ot circumvent extremely strong monsters if monster were programed then on to not attack dueling players. These are only a few flaws in the free-for-all-no-risk in all worlds. Man, I seriously hope you never design things for a living if you give up on stuff that easily. Off the top of my head, they could code it so if you've taken any damage whatsoever from a player in the last 2 minutes you keep your items even if killed by a monster. And that's ignoring the fact that on our current pvp worlds there are no revs, since the constant risk of attack by players replaces them. I mean seriously, if Jagex spent some time, heck if I spent some time testing and working on something like this I could work most of the kinks out pretty quickly. But that's one issue. You said this was just one, what are the rest? I'm more leaning to the fact of the players' "Ok, which damage is that?" I've lost items in a pvp world on another mmorpg solely because I was flagged for pvp and got piled by an npc during the fight. I'm speaking from experience, but granted that company sucked pathetically in terms of customer service (worse than Jagex's) and item mall honesty. I probably have bad experiences :boohoo: But here's another example: Player A has 100 hp. Player B inflicts 99 damage on them. Player A heals 99 hp. Player B resumes another 99 damage. Therefore, player B has technically done 198 damage. Even if an npc killed Player A at full hp, the player would not lose his or her items. A good idea to not even worry about who loses items is have 2-3 worlds for p2p that are no-item-loss worlds and pvp anywhere. This would allow practice for clans wanting to do Corporal Beast as well as experiment in pvp with spells/weapon attacks. Free potions, runes, arrows, and food. The catch is that you gain no drops, experience, and all items gained are returned to a stall. In other words, these new worlds would be separate from the others in items. They would pretty much be considered "legit" private servers run by Jagex.
  17. Was there ever any faith? It disappeared when you put the quotes on here :wall: Before then, it was just dust swept under the rug.
  18. 1. No actually, it now makes me realize how RSC was. I was always envious not being able to play RSC, but now the pvp has fulfilled my wish  . It also let's me hangout with some friends and clanmates while traversing the world. 2. That's a matter of opinion. People should quit for two reasons: the game is not fun and/or the game has "betrayed" you (not getting into that; your quotes basically summed it up) 3. They were doing a great job by adding the tangle vine, then a smart person just had to be stupid... :wall: 4. Of course. Pvp is now fun for me as I can now assassinate (world kill) in relative peace. And thee are plenty of things to do, like my getting Bones to Peaches (only 2000 enchant points to go! \ )

True, but unfortunately, one person can't change the minds of a million kids. It's just not that easy. Now, if you had some cookies, THEN we'd be talking... =P~
  20. Yes, I am happy that resources are skyrocketing to those people who haven't stocked up on supplies. And pking IS profitable. I received 100k drop on F2P. My friend showed me his 5 MILLION gp drop by 1 iteming. Drop tables are based on the factors listed on the forums and in the kbase by Jagex. Read them, love them, embrace them, make fan fics with them, I don't care. Just know that house hunting, bank running, and safe-spot side-stepping often will GUARANTEE a LOW level drop. This isn't like the old wild where you pk a whip, eat your heart out to heal from pjers, and then run/tele out and then restock. Pures will not get a decent drop, and tanks will become more profitable. edit: +5

Like in the old pking? Even if they are more effective, they have always existed, even in bh. And, have you ever tried wking? Not wood*C*utting. World killing. That means teleporting to a secluded area and walking the length of the path down through low populated areas hoping for a kill while building up time. I like to call it "assassinating" \ . Quite effective if you have teleblock and entangle. It's also fun with friends so you don't get lonely.

  23. What makes you think I'm a pker? I have never, and hopefully never will pk. I'm glad to not know anything at all, whatsoever about pking, but that doesn't mean I can't have my views on it. To me, YOU are the scum of pkers, it's people like you who have brought my opinion down of them through the floor. Both your reasons for calling me scum seem to have one thing in common also. For both, after the fight they'd both result in you making no profit and wasting a bit of food. It seems to me all you want to do is kill people to become rich, insult them if they basically don't surrender themselves or have good items, and act like you rule the world because of it. Welcome to the internet. May I take your coat? #-o P.S. When I was a lower lvl, I was never a pker. Now that I'm around lvl 110, I find that hunting down players for profit can be quite exhilarating. And that "no profit" thing for the new pvp is a lie, just like the cake is  . I made +100k drop on f2p: druidic top, addy legs, some iron arrows, rune scimmy, leather armor, water runes, and some food. My friend made +5 mill because he died a lot. Master wand and something else, I think it was a whip or something. Just be careful that you don't have a soft cushion of cash to fall back onto in the worst case scenario. Every time you enter a pvp world, the sidewalk of your character's life shrink from five feet to three inches.
  24. Hmmm i know how to KO, its just hard to KO someone thats busy teleporting. I'm sure it's not impossible. Oh yes excuse me while i magically throw my sword to where ever he teleported himself so i can KO him. Seriously? :wall: What? You've never thrown a weapon before? I hear it's quite fatal  But seriously, this is apparent even in real life situations: Keep the player confused mentally. It doesn't matter if they have ice barrage. If you can catch them off guard hard enough and fast enough, their head may crumble for those precious seconds needed to give the killing blow. That's why ice barrage is such a hard spell to counter. The animation itself will scare you and rattle your brain. A surprise is the bets form of attack :
  25. Well, the argument of unable to buy it now fails because of the now prepaid cards available at all Target stores in the U.S. And even if you aren't in the U.S., how can you not be able to buy it? Mail a check/money order? Credit cards and paypal aren't the only ways to pay for membership. As for how ftp fuels the economy, I now highly doubt that f2p rules the death and blood rune economy seeing as how both are more expensive than nature runes and are MADE instead of LOOTED on p2p. The only things f2p rules in terms of the economy are iron ore, coal, elemental runes (airs and fires), yew logs and willow logs, big bones, and lobsters. P2p can get along without the resources from f2p; we did it when the crash of the yews, pure ess, and ores came last year. F2p is not as high and mighty as you make it sound like. In fact, p2p supplies your need of zamorak and guthix armor as well as the vast majority of your nature, death, and law runes, not to mention your desire for adamant arrows and green dhide.
