  1. Deffinately the best article I've read in a while. Very nicely done!
  2. Is Jagex Towers really profit driven? To many, the answer is simply; Yes, Of course, Duh, ETC. It is used as a factor in many debates. Recently, I've seen my share of "Jagex just wants your money", but it was just those comments that set me writing this debate. Before you flame me with "How could you even doubt it?", let me explain. This debate was based off of Benar's recent post Where are Jagex's Priorities?" We've all seen the updates Jagex puts in for us to enjoy, explore new content, and skill with. Members get a much larger portion because, there are fewer of them, and they pay Jagex $5 - 7 per month [ To my knowledge ]. Of course those who are helping pay for the servers and giving Jagex a nice profit will get their moneys worth. So by giving members more skills, updates, and map space, Jagex is pressuring many who are already hooked by the gameplay, perhaps less interested in free to play achievements, to become members and unlock new content. Jagex certainly puts efforts into turning free to play players to active members, but any company that needs money to keep up servers and pay employees would be foolish not to. But it is not for that sole fact that they keep free to play running. The free to play experience arguably could just be used to pull players into paying. But I feel otherwise. They maintain free to play to always have an alternative to paying. Therefore, players do not have to pay just to play the game and can enjoy the experience without cost. Jagex could easily shut down free to play, and just keep members. But, this would cut approximately 70% of their players [ My own estimation, not fact ] off from playing. Those players who have been playing since the beginning of Runescape Classic who felt no need to become members would feel betrayed. Instead, Jagex keeps servers open for all to play. All to play. This means children under 13, macroers, and rulebreakers can play, along with dedicated players. Would it not be simpler to shut down free to play, and get rid of most macroers, immature players, and players who feel they must be rude? Please note that I said most. Some macroers would shell out the money to remain making money, some immature players would still be in the game, and whenever there is a rule, there is someone to break it. But focus on the more thoughtfull updates. The addition of German servers to accomadate those who play in the Netherlands and Germany, the various free to play updates that appear time to time, and the graphic and sound updates that have occurred. Focus not on the negatives, but what Jagex has done to accomadate all players, members or not. Please tell me your opinions. This is a debate in progress. I am rather rushed at the moment, so leave your comments and I will try to add them to my post and respond when I get the time.
  3. Welcome to Runescape This might still work Pump near barrows?
  4. I recently alched to 70 mage - 7k alches down =], and got a random every 200 - 300 alches =/. Kinda annoying afking, but when they're right on time... there's still been an increase in Randoms =[.
  5. Were you using pray on all of the brothers? You only really need it for dharock and karil...
  6. Interesting concept, but one suit and emote would be enough. Facy gloves would be good though
  7. Yay F2P! I should be coming, but I'm not totally sure about the times.
  8. One of the best reads I've read during my stay at Tip.It. Keep up the good work!
  9. It is generally full of good information, but is lacking in the "ultimate" department. The d baxe spec, and d2h in the wildy? Not many people do that, so you know. Neither do they usually bring a zerker ring or rune boots, what is the bones of dark gloves vs barrow gloves? Why a cannon for P2P rangers? Hp vs Cannon [range], Alching[mage], Pc [melee] argument? How about prayer? It was in every design for pking that you made. Why 43, and not 52? STAKING? Other than a few disagreements that I had with this guide, it is good research for 1 day, and keep at it!
  10. Kiara, I know I haven't actually met or talked to you that much, but I'd like you to know what a difference you've made at this site. You were always dedicated, kind, and responisble if we came to you with a question, and were always willing to help someone if they needed it. You certainly were part of making this community the success that it is today. So it is now our turn to give back to you - I think it comes from every Tip.Iter out there when we say; Thank you Kiara for being such a brilliant Crew Leader, and we wish you well in all the endeavors you chose to take. Thank you once again, The_Bacon_Man
  11. He's a good fight - I fought him twice - He fought with honour.
  12. After walking around aimlessly for a couple of minutes, I walk into a base. "Hey, a base", I think. "What's this? CHEESE!!! I'd better keep this safe!" Into my pocket it goes. And so the story begins again! I'm watching you, mice! :-$
  13. I didn't do it... but I was responsible for the boiling oil coming out the showerhead =P~ Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? ~You can keep it if you answer correctly~

  17. You had sanity? Oh, you're confused. I stole your life and drowned it in a sewer pipe. Who tepeed my house?
  18. Granted. Until he got the idea to dye his skin green and come after you.\ I wish for banannas in pajamas.
  19. \ Lowest level in after the kick \ (I got in before you set privacy mode) Gratz on the 99s, and shame Merked got his 99 mage by accident. I can see why you wanted the ring totally clear But yeah, keep up the great Pks/Stakes, and once again, gratz!
  20. Honestly, 40 minutes to clear the ring. With 400 people there, you'd think that most of them had maturity. But no, the pixels called to them. As he explained in his thread, he kicked everyone because they would not clear the ring. (I actually got in right before he put privacy up, making me the lowest level to see his 99 atk and str - Don't believe me? Merked got his 99 mage by accident when someone ran inside to attack Gangster, and hit Merked.) There was the edgeville party, and the wilderness trip. This was NOT a lure attempt. Merked said several times to bank your valuables. If you chose not to, your fault. Honestly, it was a little disapointing for the Tip.Iters who came and were swarmed by players who didnt even have a account on Tip.It. So a little maturity goes a long way, and the party was about the level, not the drop.
  21. Lol, I count as the lowest level in after you booted! I got in right as you kicked everyone  Gratz on 99 str and atk, shame merked got by accident though. Still gratz to him, and LET US IN! Lol, you wouldn't beleive the spamfest... unless you look on SS or private chat...
  22. Gratz on the levels! I should be there on Haxx_Own, but I dunno bout times yet. Once again, gratz!
  23. Ah yes, this happened yesterday; I was in Lumbridge finishing a clue scroll - OT: Highwayman mask  - and I notice some guy trying to do the "Armour Trimming Scam." So I walk over, and tell the potential victim that it was a scam, and that no one could trim armour, etc. So this scammer quickly runs to the nearest high level, and tells them to shut me up. Wow. P.S. - This is on my pure Haxx_Own, who is 43 combat - "Teh_Noobah" was 42 combat. Just so you know. The scammer procedes to call me a noob, and work around the chat filter until I tell him to fight me if I'm so nooby. He first laughs and accepts, and I tele to dueling arena. I wait for five minutes and then tele back. He is trying the same scam. I do the same thing as last time, and he does, oh wow, the same thing. But this time he asks the high level, being 64 in this case, to help him with something. It goes a little like this. Noob: ****** (username), I need help! ******: Help with what? Noob :
  24. Ooh! I know how to beat boredom! Search the name of a guide before you spend 2 hours on it! Seriously, do you know how many people write identical guides? And it really took you two hours to repeat well known facts? Rating: 2/10, but keep working on guides.
